Seriously, did you even try searching? There's 22 ROMs with it.
Look HERE
FWIW, there are only two evo roms with it. not suggesting that youre in any way not in the right here. should have searched before hand, but your information is a bit incorrect. I was shocked for a second because im thought a bunch of other roms picked it up, but alas no.
Damage control supports it. If you have Amon Ra recovery its really easy to partition your SD card. I'm running damage, not apps2sd, but I'm really happy with their Rom.

Hi everyone, my girlfriend has a Desire on Telus and she keeps getting low space warning. I poked around through Astro but couldn't find anything to delete. She has all apps installed to SD that support it. Is this just product of the environment, small internal memory?
I'm sure there is a way to cure this with a little hackery, and if it were mine it would be no problem but she is weary of that sort of thing.
Any suggestions would be great. Maybe an app for managing space more suited for these phones.
Thanks.

unfortunately that's the problem with the desire.
you'll need to update to a rom that supports apps2sd+ or data2sd which essentially lets the phone use part of your sd card as internal memory
That's the impression I was getting looking at the custom ROMs. Thanks anyway.

Starburst is android 2.2 or the same dev has supernova android 2.3
The choice is your's am using 2.3 and have 2GB internal memory, have lots off app's and still 1.2GB left.
Small internal memory is a known desire problem. Data2sd will solve your girlfriend's storage problems. Imho starburst, supernova and miui (d2ext x-part version) are recommended. You could also change partition layout (hboot), but this is much riskier than flashing one of the named roms.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! If it were mine it would already be done, but it's not. I will talk to her and see if I can convince her.
How sensitive is the Desire to flashing? Are there any major issues I should read up on first? Of course I will do some homework but a heads up would be great.
Thanks again, I'll check back often.

Root using unrevoked3 http://unrevoked.com/recovery/
And flashing RoMs is very safe, has long has you do a nand backup, this just like installing windows.
For 2.3 RoM a new radio is recommended this is risky, but ive had no problem's and ive updated radio 4 time's.
They is load's of topics for first timer's on here just have a good read.

The problem with that not all the file is moved, like app2sd+ 20mb file 15mb to sd 5 still on internal, you'll soon use that 150mb.
Thanks so much guys for the information and suggestions. She is debating the matter so in the meantime I'll have to do some serious studying on flashing this phone. It is much more complicated than flashing the Galaxy S.
She should have took my advice and got a Desire HD after her first Desire was stolen.

Thanks, I'll definitely check those out. Bell just got the wildfire s and for 250 it might be a decent little second phone and I will certainly want to at least root it.

rooting sounds really scary but is actually very simple, you just need to post what your current hboot setup is, from powered off press vol down and press power. let us no what your hboot version is. because if its the new 1.06 there is no way to root yet.

Took a quick look at the videos and it seems pretty straightforward. Allot more work than I'm used to but nothing I can't handle. Too bad you can't boot from a clone drive in windows.

Hi guys, been quite a while since I started this thread but finally this past weekend had the time to get started on fixing the wife's Desire.
Got it rooted with unrevoked after much frustration. I finally found a post that recommend uninstalling a few apps to stop getting the failure error and it worked like a charm. Not before I read another post that recommend using linux because of issues with win 64 bit. I happened to have a copy of zorin os on my desk so I now have that to play with when I get home on Friday. :-D
Shot a thanks to all you who helped, wish me luck when I attempt to flash a custom ROM to her phone this weekend.
I think I might get her a new one for Christmas.

Oh really? do you pay them a salary every month? devs do this as a hobby they dont owe us anything nor do they have to share any of their roms mods or themes with us but they do.. could you try being a little grateful..and not act like a snotty spoiled kid that think that ppl are his servants.
Why is everybody ****ting on this idea? I think its awesome especially with the T-989. You can have a stock rom with WIFI calling when you need it, and cyanogenmod or whatever for the rest of the time.
You are almost a year late for the party...

I think the idea is pretty cool.. But I'm sure that any dev that has the skills to make this happen is already aware that dual boot exists and they will make it available for our phone when or if they so choose to..

Reason why Dual Boot is good
There are reason why dual boot is good
1.Don't need to worry hard brick(flashed to external sd, not in device):fingers-crossed:
2.Easy to test ROMs for developers because they can flash to sd card and boot from sd card. Also, developers does not need to mess up with hardware.
3.For people afraid of flashing ROM, dual boot is nice choice for them.:laughI am afraid of Flashing ROM also)
Sorry for my bad English.
Now this is the definition of dual boot http://m.androidcentral.com/samsung-ativ-q-puts-windows-android-single-tablet

I can't believe no one has mentioned this: http://lifehacker.com/5826050/how-to-dual-boot-multiple-roms-on-your-android-phone
It works, just fine if you follow the instructions.

That isn't exactly a dual booting app, but an app that overwrites your /system, /data and /cache partitions if I remember right. A true dual-boot mode would need to be baked into the kernel so that it can mount different /system, /data and /cache partitions on your device.
As was stated in an earlier post, it is nice because you can have some of those on your external SD card or internal SD card and have a failover in case something goes wrong with your ROM (ie your primary boot is your DD, your secondary is a non-DD or a new one and you hold vol+ while booting to go into it... usually it is a hotkey to boot secondary OR a menu like GRUB with a timeout). The problem is that in order to get that working, you need 2 partitions for your /system drive (one for each ROM). Most phones that support kernel-level dual boots have a partition we can borrow space from for the second /system (I believe the I9100 (could have the model wrong) uses partition 9, but our phones have that partition really small). I have looked around on the phone and currently cannot find a suitable alternate /system partition. It needs to be on internal memory as the external SD card mounts too late and you will get various kernel panics if it can't mount /system soon enough.
We COULD get dual boot working (in theory), but it would require stealing space from /sdcard (or /storage/sdcard0... they are the same device).. ie we would lose internal storage space. PLUS it would require some advanced steps preformed from the shell to do that and if you screw those up, you get a nice brick.
At least such is my understanding from reading various threads about dual-booting.
TL;DR: it is possible, but the chance of bricking is high.
Also, if you read the description to that app:
BootManager will not work with Samsung devices that are not listed because of the way Samsung handles the boot partition
and the SGH-T989 is NOT listed. Are you SURE that app works with our phone without screwing up the boot partition (or any other partition for that matter)?
I would love a dual boot feature. I use cyanogenmod and while it's great, samsung roms have MHL and wifi calling which would come in handy.

Ooo... I'm making progress on a dual boot option for our phones (YAY) bad news though is how it will work. If external ad it's present, not from it; else boot from internal.
Good news is that you can size your positions however you like though.
Bad news install steps are complex but I'm working on making it as user friendly as I can.
I'll link my post once I get it working and documented.

Have a note 2 and didnt realize you couldnt move apps to sd until after buying the phone. So now I need to get around that restriction.
My device is rooted and on stock rom.
Can someone please point me to instructions for setting up apps 2 sd, or doing the internal v external sd swap?
Thanks in advance for the help

I think that's an Android jb issue rather than a fault of the phone.
I use the memory swap now, I used to use directory bind, and it works perfectly

It's a ROM related issue (JB). I'm using Clean Master(App), which allowes to move at least some apps to external SD.
im using a custom rom with the memory swap baked in. But im pretty sure this is the mod/guide that im using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036796
it is really good and fools the phone into using your sd card as your internal memory so no need to swap on a per app basis.
enjoy.

Thanks for pointing me to this. Can you verify for me as I cant seem to find it. Can this be used on my stock rom rooted? Or will I need to flash a new rom? Id really like to keep it stock as much as possible. Dont mind if the trash has been removed though.
I know the thread says you need a rom and kernel that supports initD, but I dont know if this does?
Also, the initial thread indicates it needs to be a international version, mine is a US from verizon. Will this still work?
Lastly, im assuming I will need to whipe my phone and start fresh?
Again thanks for all the help with this!
I'm not a hundred percent sure to be honest. But I would expect it to work on a stock rooted phone.
You would need to do a complete wipe and I think it says in the op that you're better off using the mod as soon as you do a fresh install
However, seeing as you are with Verizon I would really advise you to Flash the rom I use, Which is the Jedi rom.
It comes with some trash removed, some nice eye candy, the swap already cooked in and the new kernel is giving standby battery performance of 1% an hour.
But if you do then I suggest you wait for version 18 which is due any day.
Good luck
