Well what you can do is get yourself a file manager. Im using es file explorer. Then as you go to select a ringtone, you can choose it from there.
Or if you want it to be in the android system ringtones, what you do is copy that song, sound or whatever to: system/media/ringtones/ and then paste it there.
Obviously if vokal does a full/non-patch rom update you'll have to do it again so keep it backed up on sdcard.
Hope i helped

Download ES File Explorer. Then use that to set ringtones.

So I just got the randomrom, and I noticed it doesn't have stock music player , and I like that music player because it has the options to puase forward previous on the notification menu, no other music player has that so far that I've used or know of. So can someone , give me the .apk file to that?

Here ya go, it might be from ef02 but im not sure. you have to use sdxstockappremover (http://roc-city.com/android/SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk) to install it put the apk in sdcard/sdx/backup/app/ and use the restore option
hope this helps
I have not the slightest clue how to do that . Can you explain it to me in well writen instruction, can I do this over my phone? Or will I need my computer?

Do this instead(might be easier for you) Put this on the root of your sd card(this ones from froyo ec05): http://db.tt/7sxDLX4
Download ES file explorer from the market
Go into its settings and turn on the both root options.
Copy and paste the apk into /system/app
Then turn of the root options in settings, the bottom one first.
Exit the file explorer
Reboot
Voila.

ok so basically its just an apk file but it is a system app so you cant install it directly by pressing install it will say unsucsessful which is why you need the sdx tool. the sdx tool is for managing system apps (like musicplayer.apk) which is a very simple and useful app. you dont need a computer
Step 1. You need a file manager from the market i use androzip
step 2. download and install http://roc-city.com/android/SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk and perform a backup of any system file (ex. AccountAndSyncSettings.apk) to establish the folders in your sd card
Step 3. use androzip (or any file manager) to navigate to sdcard/tapatalkxdapre_download/ and copy musicplayer.apk (assuming you already downloaded it with the xda app) to sdcard/sdx/backup/app/
Step 4. go to sdxstockappremover in your app drawer and hit manage backups and if everything is alright it will be there aong with the other app you backed up so just check it and hit restore selected files.
I will attempt both methods if one does not work, Thank you guys for your help. Oh another thing. Can you guys give me a feedback on the syenergy rom if it is good for epic, If so what features does it have that are good , no just give me the pros and cons.
Synergy-cons its old and uses eb13, go with midnight 5.5 or srf 1.2

Hope you get it working! I can't answer about ROMS, since I haven't used one yet, but if you want froyo, go Syndicate Frozen ROM 1.2 or the latest MidNight.

It didn't worked for me, it hangs on that screen searching for files.
Any solutions yet?
nope....still cant find the missing piece
try to look for if there is a ".nomedia" file on our sdcard root or in your media folders? If so just delete it.
OR
try rebooting the phone after installation.
OR
place the music files in a folder named music...
Testers
You are still looking for testers ?

Want your current ROM to SOUND like ICS, but aren't ready to load an early alpha build?
I've extracted the Media folder for just this purpose.
http://www.multiupload.com/BYY8WQX56A
Credit to:
Flemmard (Extracted sound files from his ROM)
Google (ICS)
... INSTRUCTIONS ...
(o) Back Up your "/system/media" Folder
(o) Download Media Files
(o) Open your file manager (I recommend ES File Manager .. free from Market)
(o) Enable Root Exploration within your file manager
(o) Move the Media Files into "/system/media/" (Accept overwrite warning) - !!!This will replace your current system default sounds so BACK UP, as always!!!
(o)Reboot (Just for safety's sake - not always needed)
You now have the same sound profile as ICS!

Or alternatively put it on your SD card to /media/audio/ folder without touching system partition and no need to root.

Correct, but this will not change your UI sound profile (e.g. screen lock sound, unlock sound, camera shutter)

Look at post #3 in the link below, doesn't seem to hard just make sure you have a backup in case you mess up.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139219
update: I tried to install the ics boot animation and everything went smooth.
I used Root Browser (file manager) clicked on the system folder then clicked on media folder and pasted bootanimation.zip in media folder. Restarted the phone and that was it. If you want the g2slim animation back, just delete the bootanimation.zip from the media folder.
I come from China,I can not be downloaded in this network disk,Can you give another link? Thanks
I installed the bootanimation.zip using RootExplorer (free) and it works great. Took less than 2 mins to do everything. Now if only I could have a *good* ICS Slim ROM.

I did a google search and have installed live wallpaperpickers.apk and live wallpapers into system/app using root explorer.
But all I get is force close when I select any live wallpaper.
Any help to get it back working,do I have to run some sort of script.
I not only deleted those files I also deleted the backup that I made.
I am rooted with stock rom running 2.3.2 build .181 bootloader is open by using test point.
Thanks in advance

Hey guys, as the title says, when I type *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu, it doesn't work. (the code just vanishes actually)
As for some background info, I have a r800a, and this issue started after I flashed the NXT rom. I tried searching the forums first, but couldn't find any solutions. Any help?
Thanks in advance.
There must be ServiceMenu.apk in /system/app to be able to use that feature. If you have other GB rom in PC, you can extract it and install it as system app. I know AuroraPlay rom have it, i'm not sure for others...

Thanks for the help! That's exactly the problem. I went ahead and did as you said and it worked like a charm.
For other people who might have the same problem, I have uploaded the servicemenu.apk with this post, and the entire app folder as a link for it is too big for xdadevelopers. I extracted these apps from the R800_4.0.2.A.0.79 ftf file, which is for the r800a model. I'm not sure if these apks are interchangeable so use at your own risk.
