So I just got the randomrom, and I noticed it doesn't have stock music player , and I like that music player because it has the options to puase forward previous on the notification menu, no other music player has that so far that I've used or know of. So can someone , give me the .apk file to that?

Here ya go, it might be from ef02 but im not sure. you have to use sdxstockappremover (http://roc-city.com/android/SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk) to install it put the apk in sdcard/sdx/backup/app/ and use the restore option
hope this helps
I have not the slightest clue how to do that . Can you explain it to me in well writen instruction, can I do this over my phone? Or will I need my computer?

Do this instead(might be easier for you) Put this on the root of your sd card(this ones from froyo ec05): http://db.tt/7sxDLX4
Download ES file explorer from the market
Go into its settings and turn on the both root options.
Copy and paste the apk into /system/app
Then turn of the root options in settings, the bottom one first.
Exit the file explorer
Reboot
Voila.

ok so basically its just an apk file but it is a system app so you cant install it directly by pressing install it will say unsucsessful which is why you need the sdx tool. the sdx tool is for managing system apps (like musicplayer.apk) which is a very simple and useful app. you dont need a computer
Step 1. You need a file manager from the market i use androzip
step 2. download and install http://roc-city.com/android/SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk and perform a backup of any system file (ex. AccountAndSyncSettings.apk) to establish the folders in your sd card
Step 3. use androzip (or any file manager) to navigate to sdcard/tapatalkxdapre_download/ and copy musicplayer.apk (assuming you already downloaded it with the xda app) to sdcard/sdx/backup/app/
Step 4. go to sdxstockappremover in your app drawer and hit manage backups and if everything is alright it will be there aong with the other app you backed up so just check it and hit restore selected files.
I will attempt both methods if one does not work, Thank you guys for your help. Oh another thing. Can you guys give me a feedback on the syenergy rom if it is good for epic, If so what features does it have that are good , no just give me the pros and cons.
Synergy-cons its old and uses eb13, go with midnight 5.5 or srf 1.2

Hope you get it working! I can't answer about ROMS, since I haven't used one yet, but if you want froyo, go Syndicate Frozen ROM 1.2 or the latest MidNight.

The eeo3 method didn't work, I will try the ec05 method sometime later, mhm, your right , I will try midnight rom 5.5 boyr since I haven't tried that yet.

I had nothing to do with the creation of this app. I am just posting the link on here for others to make life a little easier. It force closed the first time I ran it, but it worked perfect the second time. Uber props to the developer!

If you have root explorer you can do it easily. If you do not have it, you should. Worth every penny if you don't understand adb yet.
Anyway, with root explorer, you just download a swype enabled rom. Open root explorer and navigate to the swype enabled rom on your sdcard. Make sure R/W access is checked at the top of root explorer. Locate the app directory and longclick on the swype apk. Select extract and it will extract the file to your system/extracted folder or something like that. I believe it tells you where it puts the file so keep an eye out. Now locate the library directory and find the swype library file and extract. At this point you just need to copy the files to your system app and library directories. When you have the files placed in their respective directories, navigate to the swype apk file and install it from within root explorer. Now your golden. Make sure to enable swypw in you keyboard settings.
Hope this is legible enough to help.

I'm using it right now on the newest cm7 nightly, suits the rom just fine .
Find the correct .ogg file, using root explorer or any other file manager move the .ogg file to system/media/ui/ and overwrite the initial one. A reboot is needed for sounds to take effect.
U can also adb push "filename.ogg" system/media/ui
/system needs to be mounted 'rw'.
Good luck!

is there any way to do it through terminal?
I hadn't done this on my G2 yet when I posted the youtube link, but I just did it and it took about 20-30 seconds to do it.
I've always found that SU File Manager was easier to do this, so people should try it out.
It overwrites the file, make sure you pressed the S in the top left corner. Then just reboot after you've done everything.
Also make sure that you rename the file and delete .zip at the end.

I tried to use this on Enoms The Official Rom...but I see no UI in media, only notifications, and that's cuz I added that one. Where is the UI folder I need to stick this in?
When I look at the .zip of the rom I can see system, media and then Notifications ringtones and UI. But just in the .zip of the rom I flashed.
Any help would be appreciated

Where are you looking for the UI folder?
It's suppose to be in System > media > audio
I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN ASKED, BUT NEVER ANSWERED SO LET THIS GO TO REST ONCE AND FOR ALL.
So the alarm clock for the epic that everyone keeps asking about is eclair i believe. It was on Bonsai 3.0.1 as well. it has the smart alarm feature and all that jazz...
SO, now that we know which .apk were talking about, here comes the million dollar question(s).
First, On SRF1.2, couldnt i just grab the apk (its in the .zip that bonsai used for flashing it back into there rom) and pull the apk out and push it to system/app? Its called clockpackage.apk if that rings any bells. I personally tried this and it worked, then when i three button'd and rebooted, it has launcherpro FC's and one other one.
Secondly, if it cant be installed that way or isnt compatible, could someone make it so for SRF 1.2?
Go for it and tell us if it works

gah, i cant find the link! it was on both 1.1 and on 1.2 threads but now i cant seem to find it. ill keep looking and post it here once i find it.
edit: found a link on the ee thread that could possibly work. im not sure though. link has a list of downloads to choose from. best bet would to try the sprintapps.zip and then use app remover to remove all unwanted apps thats was installed with flash.

If I wanted to delete some APKS from srf 1.2 zip file so they don't re install when I flash can I just go into the file delete those apks. Or will that cause problems in other places I am thinking not but am just wondering?

Yeah I wasnt going to do anything important just stuff like galaxy s tuner and kies air and other stuff I have never used
yup, i generally do that with all roms i download.. go through and pull out stuff i don't want/need before flashing..
Thanks for the fast response I just did it so hopefully next time I flash it is a little cleaner I made a copy of the original in case I did something wrong I can always install it the way it has always worked in the past.
I haven't had time to try this method yet. App2zip looks legit and easier than Ti B. App2zip creates a flashable zip of all of your apps and data. I guess you can flash it in recovery. Looks like SGS2 users need to make mods to get it to work, but the mod is simple. Anyone try this yet? Anyone willing to test? Lol. See:

For addictive flashers like me, this application is a God send!!
There are some bugs but here's the way to fix it:
0. Install the APPS2ZIP application from the link above.
1. Get a root file browser
2. Copy the "update-binary" file found in any T989 roms ZIP file \meta-inf folder.
3. Paste/overwrite the file here: /data/data/scd.app2zip/files
and then run the APPS2ZIP to create the update.zip file.
I have tested this file and it works great!! Its like flashable Titanium Backup restore !!

I use it too. Works a treat, but won't include app data/settings which can be a blessing anyway if you go from ROM to ROM.
Does this enable the market link, so apps get regular updates? If so, this app is huge!
