I can use help too
I have no idea if using that would be a problem or not (I haven't even read the thread),. But I notice that is for a Galaxy S II, not SGS III. Unless you've seen that folks have done that on the SGS III, I wouldn't be to anxious to use it.
Just trying to save you trouble...if you already know it works on SGS III...ignore this :cyclops:
Is this the only option to enable native spell check with the AT&T S3? Unless I'm missing something spell check does not seem to work, only auto correct which I'm not exactly a fan of.
Anyone with a galaxy S3 try the following. Open up sms and instead of typing in your text use google voice. You will notice the words are highlighted even those thet may not be spelt incorrectly but it will give you the option to choose alternate works by tapping on the underlined words. So I know the feature is there and working but how do I get this to work by using a ragular keyboard?

I maybe understanding the situation wrong. But I know when I bought my SIII my auto correct and spell check was jibberish. I had to go into the keyboard settings and go to language and select English because it was using all the dictionaries at once..... maybe? If im off I'm sorry lol

This is the only dialer i've ever had that doesn't scale to 200 dpi.
Any chance a coder out there could rewrite the stock dialer to adjust (or just be that size?)
Thanks!

This is my current dialer. Everything else in the phone tab (contacts, call log) scales, just not this.

this half worked for me, the mulit dpi dialer worked, tbut then i flashed a theme and it went back to small
i wish i could credit whoever made this but this worked for me in unnamed rom and siyah kernal
ex dialer is very cool. but when i bring up the keypad in a call (to push buttons while waiting for customer service, for example) the keypad is still all screwy.
I installed the above contacts file, but that didn't help, unfortunately.
Anyone fix this yet?
I recently upgraded to the Galaxy S3. I loaded on my favorite keyboard, Shapewriter, and was disappointed to see that it didn't fill the screen like it did on my other phones. Is there anyway to make it take up the whole bottom of the screen like all the other keyboards? Thanks for any help.

send a note to the developer... they might not be aware and just need to edit it for the larger screen...

It's no longer supported. I have a backup of the APK that I use to install it with. It's not even on the Play anymore as far as I know.

That's clearly not supported on 720p screen, never heard of the keyboard but if you find people that likes it a developer might be able to help

If I recall, Shapewriter was bought by Nuance and incorporated into the FlexT9 keyboard and now those features are incorporated into the latest Swype beta...
So maybe try that?
You can always lower your dpi
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I downloaded the Swype Beta. It's going to take some getting used to, but overall I think it's better than the default Samsung keyboard.
I prefer shape writer over all the rest I've tested. The automatic addition of a space after a period (.),saves hitting the space bar more often than deleting the space. The ability to retroactively capitalizewith one key does not require retype. The selection of typed words with one touch,allows the original selection list to be recalled.
I can't believe they did this all two years ago. Nuance now owns shapewriter.
Hi!
The title says it all, I'm interested if the Note II can handle any app in double panel view.
I use computer almost never, and having a smartphone which could view any 2 apps at a time would be so good and would be a great next phone I'll buy.
Thanks for your answers already!
Not stock. Only a handful of apps will work in multi view.
But there is a mod in dev section that allows any app to run in multiview

Only certain stock apps are available in the Multi window by default. If you need to add your own apps, there are a few methods, or you can flash a ROM that already have this feature built-in
So far, the easiest is this one, you just need to find the item name of the apps you wish to add, and use the webtool to generate a zip file to flash into your Note II (You need to be rooted)
Here's how mine looks like once I added apps that I want :

}
Do remember to do the necessary backups before proceeding further.
Hope this helps!
Ok, thanks for your replies. At this time I wasn't able to find the mod kylec mentioned about, and the manual method looks pretty creepy, but I'll look into it later, when I actually have the device with me. It was a big relievement to know that there is at least some way to double-panel all apps. It's sad how Samsung doesn't give us the device's full potential by standard.
Remind that even u flash unlimited multi window mod , it wont be easy to use, many apps will be stretched strangly.

I've read somethings about it
Here's info on what i Have -
Samsung galaxy s3 T999L, Stock rooted with DocHoliday77's [Stock][ROM]Galaxy S3-LTE (cant post links yet :C)
i know they have to be .9.png's (but dont know what that means exactly) and have the background transparent
I know you have to put it in mms.apk (cant find it on my phone) saw 3 people say system/app/mms.apk
Here's what i get using ES File Explorer (cant find it in root explorer either)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
so does that mean I create a mms.apk there?
Thats all i could come up with.
So if anyone could direct me to a video(preffered) or thread with a step by step?
or explain how to find mms.apk?
Or if you're advanced make something along the lines of these colors?
TLR - need Tutorial / vid on how to create and install custom chat bubbles

okay so i found it - Thanks doc
but from here what do i do?
Yellow's the one i edit? ( a recieve and a sent ) ? and do i have to make a focus png (just highlight edges it looks like)?
Blues the preview selector when you get into message settings>bubbles?
Reds the correct path?
And no idea if i have to edit what the green is showing for backgrounds???
Do I have to have a special program to open .9.pngs? (i have adobe cs6 master)
If I remember right, you're not supposed to mess with the .9.png's. And there is a program I believe to help with them. Youll have to search xda for it though as I don't remember the name.

It's pretty much melting my brain...
What file do i put it back into (i found the .9.png's in the drawable-sw359dp-xhdpi) so i'm guessing that one
But dont know if i can just "drag" and replace the files?
sooo i just opened archived and dragged files into it - switched message settings
Looks okay ((added to much space and dont like the colors exactly on the sides but ill tweak it later))
i feel yorzua's tutorial was the best for super noobs

With the Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-M919, you can have 2 "special" apps display on the screen (e.g. Play Store and Chrome) at the same time:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
How do I get other apps to be on this "special" apps list?

Wonder why Samsung advertises this feature, but only allows some apps.. I mean, how did some of my 3rd party apps make it on that "special" apps list? e.g. Astro File Manager, but not ES File Manager.

I have no idea why samsung did this. I guess to promote their apps? But you can manually decompile your apps and add the proper code to the android manifest.xml file. I might, might, be able to right a windows program that could do this for you. Or maybe even an android app.. i'll have to think about the process.

I am familiar with unpacking a .apk and modifying the manifest file, and repacking it for reinstallation.
If someone could post what I need to add or edit in the manifest file to get the app to appear in the "special" multi-window-able list of apps, I'd be set.
