With the Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-M919, you can have 2 "special" apps display on the screen (e.g. Play Store and Chrome) at the same time:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
How do I get other apps to be on this "special" apps list?

Unfortunately, I am not rooted
Wonder why Samsung advertises this feature, but only allows some apps.. I mean, how did some of my 3rd party apps make it on that "special" apps list? e.g. Astro File Manager, but not ES File Manager.

I have no idea why samsung did this. I guess to promote their apps? But you can manually decompile your apps and add the proper code to the android manifest.xml file. I might, might, be able to right a windows program that could do this for you. Or maybe even an android app.. i'll have to think about the process.

I am familiar with unpacking a .apk and modifying the manifest file, and repacking it for reinstallation.
If someone could post what I need to add or edit in the manifest file to get the app to appear in the "special" multi-window-able list of apps, I'd be set.

thanks for the heads up, dictionary is also availible on samsung apps
is not available with the release XXJPC
I installed that same app through Android Market yesterday. I was surprised when it showed up in Samsung Apps today... Had to double check the version numbers, but it was indeed the same app.
not available here in Singapore..
It's alright, we have an inSing App..
No Movie app and dictionary in my Samsung Apps
Not in samsung apps here 2.1 JG8

not available here in UAE !
Nice! Appeared fine on optus JG4. I think sometimes these apps take a little while to appear, however they are unlikely to appear if you are on test/beta firmware such as froyo jpc.
Dictionary hasn't shown up on mine. Maybe only for other regions?
One more thing, I can't see flixster on android market, I have a feeling that it will only show in market for people in the U.S./UK/Canada.
If you look at the flixster faq http://www.flixster.com/android/faq, it says that showtimes are only supported for those countries. However this samsung apps flixster is working fine here in aus (so maybe the faq only reflects the market availablility..?)
not in my samsung apps... Romania..
not mine XFJM6
Love this app!
I guess this isn't any different to the same app on the normal market?
I downloaded it but was honestly not impressed with it.

Maybe a dumb question, but how do you access Samsung apps with Launcher Pro enabled?

Can you give us .apk file please ?
thank you
@vaiofr: i dunno how to dump the apk, but you can just download the movies app in the android market. it's exactly the same thing, and it's free too.
Thanks to fracaccia,
He posted below the apk of the new Android Market. Just download and install it with any file manager!

What's new:
- A "carousel" user interface that allows users to flip through featured apps.
- New categories for widgets and live wallpapers, as well as more unnamed categories "in the weeks ahead."
- A unified app details page that eliminates the need to interact with tabs.
- Content ratings for applications
- A reduced refund window of only fifteen minutes.

It works on the sgs, tested it. Rename the file to Vending.apk and push it to the /system/app folder.

Dont like the new market. The green **** (yes.) takes half of the screen space on a 800x480 device that's just dumb. Prolly pushed by publishers in the "featured" who pay money to get there or something.
Descriptions are halved because this green stuff takes all the space. comments, same. List, same.
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has the stock aokp music apk
For some reason indont have it on my phone. Thanks in advance

You can just reflash AOKP. I don't use AOKP, but I'm pretty sure it uses the Google Play Music app, right? That can be downloaded from the play store.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
open the aokp rom zip file with any file explorer and just install the music apk. its in /system/app/.
I just tried that man but its not in there

Apollo which is included in CM9 is much better than the stock app IMO
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
It sucks that the STOCK Music app is not included in AOKP's ROM. I live in Canada and it's not available for download from the Google Play store. We don't have access to any of the Music online services, just the basic music player that's shipped on the GNex. The app still plays music from the phone and doesn't prompt/alert users to connect to the online services that you have in the United States so why won't Google allow everyone to download it without the extra services to which is automatically disabled anyway? Same argument goes for why it's not included in the ROM

It's a worthy replacement.
I have problems with Apollo. Mostly its UI design. Album and artist names are cut short in certain views and the big album art (now playing view) is low-res (as if rendered on a SNES).
Hi!
The title says it all, I'm interested if the Note II can handle any app in double panel view.
I use computer almost never, and having a smartphone which could view any 2 apps at a time would be so good and would be a great next phone I'll buy.
Thanks for your answers already!
Not stock. Only a handful of apps will work in multi view.
But there is a mod in dev section that allows any app to run in multiview

Only certain stock apps are available in the Multi window by default. If you need to add your own apps, there are a few methods, or you can flash a ROM that already have this feature built-in
So far, the easiest is this one, you just need to find the item name of the apps you wish to add, and use the webtool to generate a zip file to flash into your Note II (You need to be rooted)
Here's how mine looks like once I added apps that I want :

Do remember to do the necessary backups before proceeding further.
Hope this helps!
Ok, thanks for your replies. At this time I wasn't able to find the mod kylec mentioned about, and the manual method looks pretty creepy, but I'll look into it later, when I actually have the device with me. It was a big relievement to know that there is at least some way to double-panel all apps. It's sad how Samsung doesn't give us the device's full potential by standard.
Remind that even u flash unlimited multi window mod , it wont be easy to use, many apps will be stretched strangly.

so I'm wondering if there's a type of theme or something that can change the whole UI to look like the HTC UI?

You are not alone. I once wanted my iPhone to look like Galaxy note. And it did look like ideos. I don't think same platform could alow cross device ui. If u were say on iPhone... Anyway do some research on Google.

Yes you can do this, sorry for my colleagues who would rather cut someone down than help. The 3 apks in the zip below must be extracted then installed normally as user apps. You can then select Sense as your home launcher in device settings.
