Hey i accident did a system wipe instead of doing a regular wipe and i can only boot into fastboot mode now when i try to boot normally it only stays on GOOGLE screen with the little unlock symbol but like i said i can get into fastboot mode. I tried using the Gnex toolkit 7.4 but it wont downlaod any roms because it says it cannot connect to Goo.im anyone know how i can get a rom on this thing? THank you in advanced.

Well...coincidentally goo.im is down.
But use post 3 of my guide (or your ******* toolkit if you insist) to push a rom.zip to your phone and install it.
Wiping system just wipes the rom.
So if you have a download for the same rom you were on...you can simply flash it and not wipe anything.

@Shark_On_Land Hey man!!! I would go step by step back to the forums and just read, i just got done installing my first rom after rooting, etc.. etc took me 8 hours but learned ALOT,... got a few boot screens with big red triangle a few times but hung in there... Point is i missed several steps and didnt write a post, cuz like the small tutorial said in the beginning someone else most likely already had your problem. If not then I hope you get the help u need soon... aside from all that XDA ROCKS!! ty guys!!
I would back up any/all data (nandroid+Titanium), then flash a rooted ROM after doing a full wipe, then your caches of course. It sounds like you are using the ROM that came with your phone. You can get into RA Recovery can you?
Not sure what your saying here. Your not the OP. But I take your post is intended for the OP so I won't make a snarky remark.
Congrats btw.

Try redownloading it (and not renaming it before you flash)

Did you rename recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.2-maguro-gsm.img to 1.img?
And you flash it from your android-sdk/platform-tool folder where adb&fastboot are?
Have you searched on the forum?
If you did you found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428414
Did you try the solution there?
(BTW: make sure you have the right drivers installed and that your device is recognised. Be aware that drivers in Android mode might not work in ADB/Fastboot mode)

I have tried it..but also solve the problem of "too many link"
I have the same situation here.
I tried all tips at XDA topics about silimar problems and all they failed.
I don't have knowledge to say, but I think that its a hardware problem, specifically at memory, because everything I try to flash freeze the screen like the picture at first post.
nvm just saw the giant picture..

@op,
1- did you encrypt your phone?
2- are you running windows cli as administrator?
3- try to update your bootloader to the latest
4- what drivers are you using? Use 1wayjohnny's naked drivers (find them at dev forum)

I got to thinking the other day after I got the "Firmware Update" notification for the umpteenth time that it would be really cool if there were a way that I could run the factory non-rooted ROM so that I could check my work email easily and then use some sort of app or sequence to switch in to a rooted ROM to do everything else. Is that possible?
No dual boot for us yet...

By firmware update are you talking about an ota update? If so, there are several zips you could flash to get rid of it.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Dual booting a zImage is tricky. Not to say its impossible but it isn't easy like a standard bootimg dual boot. The main problem lies in the recovery being packed with the kernel. When dual booting android if u run into an issue such as a bootloop you flash a zip to boot back to your main rom, the zips are recovery specific. With Tue recovery changing between zImage flashes you could quite easily end up in limbo til you get to a PC with Odin/heimdall to flash a new firmware and be able to boot back up. There's been some work done on it but you can't boot across versions only same build/version and its not really stable in the secondary rom due to kernel conflicts

let me get to the root of the problem. no pun intended.
why do you need to be unrooted to check work email? do you use an app like 'Good for Enterprise' that checks for root or something?

I have to use Touchdown for email and if it detects root (Superuser) it kicks you off the network-which I can't have.

I have a similar issue. chk my post for how I work around the stupidity.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33088059
Hey folks,
A friend of mine with no prior experience of rooting decided to go ahead and root his GSM Galaxy nexus anyways.
The guide he followed is this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AvJI4ucOL4
At that time the phone was on ICS. Rooting was successful and the phone was working okay. He then updated to JB using OTA update. The phone rebooted but has been stuck in a boot loop ever since. On the very odd occasion like maybe 1 in 10 times the phone does actually start and goes to the lock screen but then restarts immediately and is stuck in a boot loop again.
Any ideas as to how the phone can be un-rooted and the returned to stock JB?
Many thanks.
I wonder where I might find something like that....

Thanks for the links mate. Just was not sure if the same would be applicable to a phone stuck in boot loop. A bit scared after managing to brick my own EVO3D last week
I tried following the instructions given in the link posted by Pirateghost but that requires to access the CWM recovery mode. When I try and enter recovery mode I get a sleeping droid with a red triangle and exclamation mark. I assume this is because my mate tried to do an OTA when he should have downloaded JB and installed it through CWM.
Any ideas on how to return to stock now please?

Guides indicated by Pirateghost give you all the information to flash the stock rom and also explain to you regarding the disappearance of the custom recovery .... in case, if you're under windows/mac, try the Nexus Root Toolkit, has the GUI and it's easy to use as long as they are properly installed the drivers to recognize the phone ...
Do it with your friend, or you'll have to do it again in the future.
