@Shark_On_Land Hey man!!! I would go step by step back to the forums and just read, i just got done installing my first rom after rooting, etc.. etc took me 8 hours but learned ALOT,... got a few boot screens with big red triangle a few times but hung in there... Point is i missed several steps and didnt write a post, cuz like the small tutorial said in the beginning someone else most likely already had your problem. If not then I hope you get the help u need soon... aside from all that XDA ROCKS!! ty guys!!
I would back up any/all data (nandroid+Titanium), then flash a rooted ROM after doing a full wipe, then your caches of course. It sounds like you are using the ROM that came with your phone. You can get into RA Recovery can you?
Not sure what your saying here. Your not the OP. But I take your post is intended for the OP so I won't make a snarky remark.
Congrats btw.

So I dropped my Epic face down on the sidewalk yesterday and cracked the screen badly. The phone still seems to boot but is non-responsive to touch so I cant get past the lockscreen. I can also boot into CWM but can only see the bottom corner of the menu as the upper left quadrant of the screen is totally out.
My question is - can I somehow run a backup without access to the touchscreen? Either through Titanium or (even better) in CWM? FYI, I have adb installed on my laptop and have used it before with the phone but have VERY limited knowledge of how to use it. I am however, willing to learn.
If someone could even point me in the right direction I would be hugely appreciative.
Since you don't use the touchscreen to make a CWM backup it is completely within your abilities to do so.
I couldn't find a picture of the purple clockwork so you'd be able to have a bit of an idea where each item is without being able to see it, but this might help.

Thanks ! I think you're right that I COULD get it to work that way, but I would need more info. First, I am running the Bonsai version of recovery and so would need steps specific to that version. Second, I don't know what is on the following screens so would not know what to do next. If someone could tell me step by step like: press down volume 4 times, hit camera button, press down twice, etc etc... then maybe I could get it o work that way.

I don't have bonsai recovery and I'm not sure how many people here use it compared to the more universal clockworkmod recovery, you might want to head over to the bonsai forums and ask for step-by-step directions.

Thanks Kenny. Did it but I don't think it worked. Oh well.
FYI, I think the problem is my phone now, not the instructions. I don't think I am even getting into recovery anymore...
Hey i accident did a system wipe instead of doing a regular wipe and i can only boot into fastboot mode now when i try to boot normally it only stays on GOOGLE screen with the little unlock symbol but like i said i can get into fastboot mode. I tried using the Gnex toolkit 7.4 but it wont downlaod any roms because it says it cannot connect to Goo.im anyone know how i can get a rom on this thing? THank you in advanced.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Well...coincidentally goo.im is down.
But use post 3 of my guide (or your ******* toolkit if you insist) to push a rom.zip to your phone and install it.
Wiping system just wipes the rom.
So if you have a download for the same rom you were on...you can simply flash it and not wipe anything.

For anyone who wants to help that doesnt know my situation its this, i acciently wiped system and i cant get past google screen as far as booting goes but i can get into the fastboot screen and into recovery. all i need to get is be able to put a rom onto the phone and ill be fine. ok i didnt think i could install those drivers w/o being able to boot into android

Hey folks,
A friend of mine with no prior experience of rooting decided to go ahead and root his GSM Galaxy nexus anyways.
The guide he followed is this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AvJI4ucOL4
At that time the phone was on ICS. Rooting was successful and the phone was working okay. He then updated to JB using OTA update. The phone rebooted but has been stuck in a boot loop ever since. On the very odd occasion like maybe 1 in 10 times the phone does actually start and goes to the lock screen but then restarts immediately and is stuck in a boot loop again.
Any ideas as to how the phone can be un-rooted and the returned to stock JB?
Many thanks.
I wonder where I might find something like that....

Thanks for the links mate. Just was not sure if the same would be applicable to a phone stuck in boot loop. A bit scared after managing to brick my own EVO3D last week
I tried following the instructions given in the link posted by Pirateghost but that requires to access the CWM recovery mode. When I try and enter recovery mode I get a sleeping droid with a red triangle and exclamation mark. I assume this is because my mate tried to do an OTA when he should have downloaded JB and installed it through CWM.
Any ideas on how to return to stock now please?

Guides indicated by Pirateghost give you all the information to flash the stock rom and also explain to you regarding the disappearance of the custom recovery .... in case, if you're under windows/mac, try the Nexus Root Toolkit, has the GUI and it's easy to use as long as they are properly installed the drivers to recognize the phone ...
Do it with your friend, or you'll have to do it again in the future.

I rooted the stock OS with SPH-D710_FL24_CL1173404_REV2_Rooted_Nodata.exe and everything worked fine. Then I installed MobileODINLite-v3.85.apk and did the SXTP_Agat_FL24-v0.4.0.tar flash, and upon reboot, the OS loaded up fine, but after a minute the OS would lock up and the phone would then reboot on it's own, and it just keeps doing that no matter what. I've already tried going back into recovery and wiping cache and dalvik, no change. What should I do?
BTW, I'm a noob to smartphones, the reason I was doing all this is because I can't transfer any files to the internal USBStorage folder either by KiesAir or by physical connection to the pc, I just get a transfer failed error. I was trying to make a recovery so I could load a custom ROM (dirty unicorns) in hopes that this would fix the problem. Also I don't think taking this phone to Boost for a replacement is an option, since I bought this phone used from the previous owner. HELP! =(
Look guys, I'm not someone who is too lazy to use google. A week ago I didn't even know how to use this device. I've tried looking around but I'm gonna need someone to point me in the right direction, so seriously? 33 views and nobody can at least do that to help me?

What I would do is download the GB27 Rooted Odin here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
And update to JB and maybe that might fix some of your problems. You can get into Download Mode by pulling the battery and replacing it and holding Power+Vol Down.

Good, at least you're up and running
Asking for help on the forums is usually my last result, I can assure you. I've been at it all day now and I keep coming across the same answers and the same n/a issues.
I'm going to make this as easy as possible with the hope that some one out there will be able to help me. Because I hit my data limit and I can't even download a simple app from the Google Play Store.
My Problem: Wifi will not toggle on
My Phone (The current state of the status bar makes me cringe as well. I literally JUST got done with a factory reset)

A quick run through
1. The phone was running 4.3 when I bought it. (wifi worked)
2. I decided to root using CF-Auto Root (wifi worked)
3. I updated to 4.4.2 using the Samsung Kies (breaking my root of course)
4. I re-rooted with CF-Auto Root and flashed the latest TWRP
5. A few days later, I turned on WiFi for the first time and it instantly switched itself back off.
I'm positive I flashed all the correct stuff. I do my research before voiding my warrenty.
(for 4.4.2, I flashed the latest CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar.md5 with Odin v3.09. Afterwards, openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-jfltetmo.tar)
Solutions I've tried:
-Reboot
-Took out the battery
-a few other little modifications I did in root explorer
-Factory reset
If you've any questions about what I've done or any suggestions for things to try, please let me know. I would like to avoid flashing a custom ROM for the time being.
Thank you in advance for any help!
You need to flash a different kernel. Then edit your build.prop and change.....

To this...

Thanks for the quick reply! Any Kernel suggestions for a stock 4.4.2 rom?
Edit: Or if I flashed your ROM, what kernel would you suggest?
