[Q] Flash ClockworkMod recovery - which phone

I've installed CWM from the market and want to backup up my ROM. I need to Flash ColckworkMod recovery first but my phone isn't in the list.

Unlocked
Rooted

So far there is no official CWM Recovery release for the Wildfire S. But there is an unofficial port by alquez that works fine:

zip file method in hboot wont work for the people who have unlocked their device with htcdev.com you will have to do this.

when done the things showed in the video in the above link.
then install rom manager and then in rommanager download the cwm of HTC ARIA
then it will work for you

(Guide) Unlocking BL and Rooting GSM V.

DISCLAIMER: use this guide at your own risk xda nor i am responsible if you brick your phone you have been warned
i had alot of problems unlocking the boot loader and rooting this phone. i wanting to put together a guide to help others
1. Download the Zip file http://d-h.st/tRa
2. unzip it and place the PG6IMG.zip on youe sd card reboot into fastboot
( here it will flash the .zip and change the boot loader from current to 1.08.0099 once it is done it should say unlocked)
3. reboot and remove the .zip from sd card.
4. run the .exe file (this will flash CWM)
5. place the root.zip onto your sd card
6. reboot into recovery or got to fast boot then recovery
7. go to install zip from sd card scroll down to the root.zip file select it and say yes. now let the update work.
8. when it is done select reboot from CWM. once rebooted go to your app drawer and you will see the superuser.apk. YOUR ROOTED
Only proven to work on t mobile gsm model
post any problems and i will try to help

I believe its unlocked and it is gsm

M phone identity is HTC Wildfire s A510e and i saw that it is S-ON in the bootloader. Is the procedure applies to my mobile ? or i need to make it s-off as i have seen in many guides. If so how to do that and what is s-on and s-off.
then at step 4 you specified that running the .exe file will flash cwm. what is that cwm ? please reply asap.

CWM is a custom recovery. If this method is not working try simonsimon34's method. I tryed every other method out there and this is the only one that would work.
Try his method if it dosent work then we will go from there. Also this method on unlocks the bootloader it does not make s-off

I manage to s-off my wildfire S . i tried to bootload it but i failed ( error 130 ) because i have a 2.26.75.1 rom . my simple wish is to have a custom rom on my phone and of course become a superuser . is there anything to do else after having an s-off phone ? please help me . from a fella user

First, You need to meet some prerequisites:
1. Unlock bootloader > http://htcdev.com/
2. Root Your phone > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
3. Install Clockwork Recovery > https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager
4. Browse xda-developers forum for ROMs
Just follow provided instructions.
Backup before flashing new ROM!
Provide us with some additional info about your phone too. And is it GSM or CDMA?

i tried to bootload it but each time i have a problem my phones is from orange ES so i downloaded the 2.16.75.1 but when i run it an error (error 130) comes out

If your phone is S-OFF you do not need to unlock the bootloader follow this guide
Just dont flash the recovery in the thread.....use ROM Manager to do it(install the app and select "Download Recovery" and then "Flash recovery")
After flashing the custom recovery,you are free to flash any rom

You need to download the Clockworkmod Recovery img file from your WFS internet browser, then you also need to download the root script, after that you just need to disable fastboot from Settings>>Energy (Or battery)>>Tick Fastboot
BE SURE YOU HAVE CWM RECOVERY IMG (PG76IMG.zip) ON THE ROOT OF YOUR SD CARD AS WELL AS THE ROOT SCRIPT (Root.zip).
Shut down your phone, take out the battery and put it back again and press the VOLUME DOWN + POWER keys, it should boot to HBOOT, after that wait a bit and it should tell you if you want to flash that PG76IMG.zip
After that just scroll to RECOVERY to boot CWM recovery.
Then select Install zip from SD CARD, choose zip from sd card and select the root.zip file you just downloaded.
After that go back and reboot your phone and there you have it, your WFS is rooted.
EDIT: Not sure If I can post this or not but this guide helped me root my WFS and it was successfull.

This method wont work without without s-off pal. Bootloader updates are disabled after htcdev update.

Uhm... I rooted my phone S-ON and unlocked the bootloader through HTCDev so yes it does work.

You have misunderstood me, you can root and unlock without issue. But once you htcdev unlock the bootloader will no longer flash updates like hboot-recovery-system ect via the pg76img.zip method as it cannot guarantee that they are from HTC. This is why you must relock the bootloader before running a ruu.

root problems

hello i have an htc desire whit s-off on stock ruu and cwm recovery but no root and all over the internet they said that just revolutionary can root my gb stock rom but when i enter in revolutionary it just said that i have already s-off and ask me if i want to flash a custom recovery, no root question how can i root my desire? and something else i will not change my stock ruu whit an other one , this is the only that work on my desire and i don't want any custom rom so please is there anyone that can tell me how to root my desire?

Revolutionary does not root ur phone, it makes u s-off. To root, simply google superuser, and on that site, download superuser zip file and the su-binary for arm. Put both files on sdcard, boot recovery and flash both zip files and reboot.
