mine does it sometimes when charging, some people say using a different charger will fix it, but it hasn't for me..
saying that, i think its my 'dirty' power supply in my house, its an old house and electrics have a lot of interference, the problem doesn't happen to my phone whilst charging at work for instance.
I've experience this and these are my thoughts on this, although this wasn't specifically for the oneX:
Incompatible charger
-using a different branded charger, class A replicate.
Power supply/plug:
-I can't be sure of this I'm pretty sure every other gadget should have blown up if this is the case
Generally you lose control of your screen I'm thinking this would be hardware faults or just incompatible voltages.
I'd advice you to take your device and charger to the place where you bought it and test it there, or find an electeician friend

I think ill take my charger (the one that came with the phone, but presents the problem when home) to work, and see what happens.
Rather than it being too high a voltage from the plug etc, I think its the interference/noise on the power lines, my speakers (in the same room) have this buzzing sound when using an analog cable, I need to use optical to eliminate the sound. Problem never happened until I moved here, turns out the speakers should be shielded against this (they are z5500) but its on the net that others have the problem also.
All the opinions lead to interference on the power supplys in the building.
Another example in the same house I'm in:
Couldn't run a long 20 meter ish phone cable up the stairs, as the speed of internet deteriorated from 20mbit to about 2mbit. It was fine at my old house with speeds.
I ran an Ethernet cable upstairs instead, just the standard utp, its the twisted pair that stops crosstalk, which I was hoping would eliminate the interference from the power. It worked
Anyway..
This leads me to think its another problem with this phone, as charging any other phone with the same charger, in the same house, same socket even, doesnt present the problem. Hopefully something software is able to fix.

Good job mate!
Just try the same phone/charger on different places.
It doesn't bother me to do that I always have my charger with me

After the release of Froyo I picked up the desktop dock. However, I found that when both line out audio and the micro usb charger are connect to the back of the dock, electrical noise/static comes out from the speakers (connected to line out).
I have replicated this with two different micro usb chargers. The wall charger that came with the dock and a car usb charger. The audio is perfect when only the line out is connect to the dock. But, as soon as a charger cable is connected static/noise immediately starts up.
Has anyone here both charged and used line out audio without any issues? Suggesting that I may have a defective unit, terrible power, unshielded audio cable, etc.
Thanks for any insight you might have on this issue.
Have you tried connect to a different setup of speakers or use a different audio cable? It sounds like you are having a problem with poor shielding on the audio cable connected to the back of the desktop dock.
I have the same problem, and I'm using the ear buds at work. I'm highly disapointed with the quality of audio coming from this device. I waited all this time and I get static!
same static with my dock
try samsung support.
their products, their problem...
its obviously a hardware design flaw, where the internal wiring/ components are picking up interferance, from itself or the phone.
WARNING SIGHTLY EDUCATIONAL: i dont have a dock but i cant set my phone within 1.5 feet of my alarm otherwize the alarm will "chirp" every few minutes. This is due to the alarm having a transistor radio and capasitors inside, the radio picks up the waves from the phone, and that energy builds up in the capasitors until it reaches max capasity then discharges to the speaker, chirpping.
chances are that they built the guts of the dock too small and compact, probably running the 3.7V power wires right along the auido wires which use less than a Volt, millivolts actually, and all wires with flowing electricity create magnetic feilds, the power wire would have a much stronger feild than the audio wire and could interfere with it, because inversly, magnetic feilds can create electricity in other wires (known as induction).
or it could be a culmination of the two factors.
back to topic, If it is the phone causing interference with the dock, it should have been built to be sheilded, if its the internal components of the dock it should have been designed different, EITHER way it would be samsungs fault or cheap overseas labour. I would gladly pay an extra (5-10%) on an item if it were made in North America (Can/US). Not mexico they take enough of our manufacturing jobs down there and might as well be overseas labour for quality and price.
if you dont care about the warranty pop it open and take some pictures for us, might be able to see/ possibly fix the problem.
At the time I tried with two different auxilery input cables, one well shielded for car audio and the other for a logitech speaker set; they both produced static. However, after restarting the phone it has yet to produce static. This phone and it's accessories are temperamental.
Ground loop
You have a ground loop, You need one of these.

that is actually EXACTLY whats needed to filter out the interferance! nice i never saw a headphone one before...
Can anyone confirm that this device (noise filter) in the link solves the problem?
Anyone know of any other solutions, other than returning the dock? Shame because it is a great idea and is nice when it is working properly.

I just imported one of these docks, and the static on it really sucks, totally disapointed.
I haven't experienced static on mine due to the fact that I haven't gotten the headphone jack to even work in any capacity (media or calls). Has anyone had this problem at all?
I just picked up one and had the same issue. First few hours it worked great then all the sudden the volume went low and static started. 2 different power cords and 3 sets of headphones/audio cables later and still there.
For the past 2 days, no matter what ROM I flash, car dock comes on at every reboot. I've never used the car dock app, so I'm at a loss as to why it starts up every time I reboot my phone. I exit out of car dock, and it doesn't start back up until the next time I reboot.
Also, every time a call comes in, or if I make a call, speaker phone is always on by default. Again, this happens on every ROM I flash, and it's only been happening the past 2 days.
I'm rooted, currently using Warm Z, with netarchy 4.3.2 cfs more havs.
I should also mention that I've tried multiple kernels with the hopes that maybe that would solve the issue, but sadly it hasn't. Any help would be appreciated.
Well I have no idea why or how, but both issues have solved themselves. Nothing was installed or uninstalled, and my phone is back to normal.
Anyone have any ideas at all?

I'm having the exact same problems with my G2. If the Evo and G2 are anything like many of the other phones out there, they use a magnet to switch into car mode.
My problems started when I first started using a belt pouch with a magnetic closure - before I knew about the magnet/car mode thing.
Has your phone been exposed to a magnet for any period of time?
My phone is doing the same thing! Did you find any solution?
On my G2 I did a SuperWipe and then installed a new ROM and the problem was solved.
I believe that the car dock mode is regulated by the pin out of the power cable. Recall it being that two of the ground wires are attached in the car dock and not in regular power cable mode.
Also in car dock application, you can go into the menu option and turn it off so that the car dock application isn't the default action when it senses that connection.
I actually own the car dock, but hate the application since I usually only dock the phone when in GPS mode.
Having the same problem.

I've had the same problem for a month now anybody find a solution really annoying at this point.
I had Car Dock starting for no reason on my phone. What I was found was that launching Car Dock was done so by certain pins in the Micro USB port on the phone. What was happening to me was that the Micro USB plug on my charger was messed up in a way that made the phone think it was plugged into the dock instead of just a regular charger. I bought a new charger on Ebay for like $3 and never had the problem again.
I've read that some people have Car Dock launch without their phone being plugged in. Almost all of them noticed that they had some sort of tiny debris within the usb port that was crossing the pins and causing the app to launch. Cleaning out the port with something like a toothpick should help eliminate that possibility.
Hope this helps.
Yes I read that as well, and tried cleaning the port with a soft tooth brush and compressed air and didn't help. the most annoying part is the load speaker is the default for incoming/outgoing calls and the media volume is stuck on full, much to load for headphones. More than likely the pins are touching and so small that I can't see them much less straiten them out. Trying to find someone who can solder a new port, so if anybody has sent there evo to have the port fix with good results I would appreciate a good recommendation.
thank
Has anyone noticed the high pitched noise emitted from the dock? As soon as I turn off the screen the pitch changes slightly. As soon as I touch the screen it stops, and no im not moving the xoom at all to adjust the slightest touch on the screen stops the high pitched noise.
it doesnt seem to stop when playing music either.
the only thing that stops it is interacting with the touchscreen (touching the screen while off doesnt change noise at all)
another neat find.... if i unplug the dock it still makes the noise
Yes mine was doing this too!!! unpluged it and havent tried it sense
i just took mine in to get replaced hoping the dock has the issue.
are you running 3.0 or 3.0.1? are you rooted? are you running the 1.5Ghz overlocked kernel? is it overclocked or just using the standard 1.0Ghz clock speed
i am *thinking* the kernel may be causing this but am reluctant to flash the stock back just yet.
just got my replacement and the noise is gone i would take yours back there might be a faulty batch floating around.
... seems to have started again, but isn't happening all the time. i'll run through some test cases to narrow it down.
Sounds like a ground issue if you are able to touch it to stop it.
Exactly, think about it for a second. You touch the screen, completing the electric circuit. You have grounding issues and I bet the speakers use a non grounded plug which sucks.

Yup grounding issue looks to be the problem.Wonder if its the way the docks charge the xooms? And the transformers in the power packs for the phones whine as well which drives me nuts at night.
I do not have this issue, but have what is probably a related issue. I have a pair of external speakers plugged into the dock. When I remove the Xoom there is a loud hum throughthe external speakers.
The speakers and dock are plugged into the same power strip. I may return this one and see if a new one is any different.
Hi Guys,
I have 2 One X's, and i'm using the original HTC charger and Nokia AC10-E, both works great.
I've ordered two more AC10-E because i like the look and feel of them.
However, the new chargers make my touch screen on both phone behave odd while charging.
i had this issue on my iPhone (yes, we all had one) with 3rd party charger and i've searched here and saw a lot of complains of this issue (Any phone, Galaxy S3, sensation etc).
I just wonder, why charging effect the touch screen ?
i mean, i'm looking for the technical cause of it, it really curious me
Thanks!

Perfectly normal. Charging connects the phone to the ground and this messes up the capacitive touchscreen. Try holding your phone in your hand while using during charging and this will greatly improve touch accuracy.

I had this "problem" too even with the stock charger which came with my hox, but after latest update I have never noticed it again

Normal ?
why does any other charger doesnt make this ?
Anyway, i've investigated the charger i bought just now.
it weight less (54g instead of original 71g)
the screws are different
the text on the side has different font
the cable locker (white one) is low quality.
Lucky me to have PayPal resolution center.
Yeah, my girlfriend bought a 3rd party charger that did this to every touchscreen phone we plugged into it. My Dell D830 has the same effect when devices are connected to its USB ports and its plugged in. Being a magnesium alloy chassis, you can also feel a slight 'buzz' if you rub your finger along the surface of the laptop while it's plugged in. I got the same thing with my old PowerBook G4s if they were plugged into the 'plug top' adapter (and buzz on the audio line out too), yet if I used the long lead into the power supply (which was earthed) the buzz on the casing and audio output would disappear. I wish manufacturers would use a proper connection rather than a floating ground, that's the issue.
So after seeing how disappointing the iPhone 5 is I upgraded to the One X. Im having issues when I have my phone plugged into my Aux port in my truck. Certain notes mainly snare beats and higher notes, there is some static and popping noises. I tried turning Beats off, different cable, but still nothing. Any thoughts?
I had a problem like that with an old phone. Turned out that my case was keeping the plug from going all the way in on the phone.
Check it out. Doesn't hurt to look.
Also try the phone it a pair of headphones to rule out the phone itself as the problem.

Static and other whining noises through the car audio when connected over AUX (and especially when the phone is charging) is a very common problem. There are many reasons, all of them are due to problems of your car and not the sound source (i.e Phone). It could be due to a poor ground, electromagnetic interference, noisy power input (to the phone charger) or a phenomena called ground loop. There are cheap ground loop isolators and noise filters (on Amazon and eBay) that you can use between the AUX port and Audio output of your phone to minimize these noises.
EDIT : More info on this thread.
I feel that it might be a combination of both. I got a little static with my Inspire 4G in the car, but if I switch to my SGS3, the static is way more noticeable. I really dot know what the problem might be as I've looked into it. My first thought was the 4G signal interference but I have yet to back up that claim.

Purchase a new AUX port, can be easily installed in most vehicles. Though it could be a bit expensive.
