Then there is nothing you can do. You now must buy another phone or if you have insurance, tell them your phone is bricked and they hopefully replace it.
huh i knew that already. im such an idiot. i was sleepy and i made a mistake by flashing ics to ics with out the recent mod or new recovery. aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
by the way will sprint be able to find out if i was rooted or not?

Unless they reuse the hardsrive from the phone n see ur stuff on there but idk if they can do anything about it because that would be just illegal to go through ur stuff . Anyways if I get bricked I use same old excuse I left the phone on charge n notification came up that. Ew update is available ff18 and I hit install screen went black n blue light of deadliest death came up . They take it and if they have replacement in the store they will replace it with refurbished phone or order an refurbished phone ...... after 4th refurbished phone u have a choice to pick from the same capacity phone of ur choice if n only if u have insurance . Or u can do brand new sealed phone through insurance claim n its only 100 deductible. My excuse always work had my phone replaced 3 times since may and maybe in September I'll brick it to go get an sg3 but that's a maybe because I love the sg2 n sg3 as I heard from sprint rep is not a good soo far .

Sprint cannot read the memory on the phone because that is what is bricked on the phone. The emmc bug is triggered when a erase command is called. That erase command makes the emmc corrupt and then the phone is unable to boot or be accessed by any type of software/hardware that the consumer level can obtain.

Would you mind listing what you did and which ROMs you were using along with the versions?
Just to be sure, you did attempt to get into ODIN DL mode right?

Jtag does nothing to remedy the emmc erase bug. If jtag was a solution, the xda community would have no fear of the emmc bug. But that's not the case, a jtag cannot fix a bricked device. Only tools outside of the consumer field can be used to fix it.

All he have to do is call Samsung and they will replace it you have a year factory warranty as long as theres no physical damage. They send the phone fast. I did it four times already don't waste your time looking for solution just tell them it won't boot just turned off and won't start that's all i said. You don't have to have insurance either.

I can vouch for that cause I've had to swap out my 1st. Maybe not due to that particular reason, but still, if it doesn't light up they gets frustrated and swap time.

I used to have an Epic 4G Touch and yesterday accidentally flashed a kernel for it on my S3. I was left with a beautiful pebble blue coffee table piece. I started to freak out because I couldn't power on or anything. Long story short, I purchased my phone less than 14 days ago so I took it back to the store. The technician took a look at it, couldn't power it on and they gave me a replacement phone, no questions asked!!
I promise if you hard bricked hell or even soft bricked you can get it exchanged from Samsung as long as it's been less than a year and no water damage or cracked screen .I really think they don't look into all the rooting stuff they just install new software in the phone and send it right back out to someone else which works for me.
If you go threw your carrier avoid it they ask to much question call Samsung and i sware they will send you a new or refurbished phone but a working one and that's all you can ask for and i didn't pay a dime the box they send you to send your phone is prepaid by them i just put my bricked phone in there then dropped it off to ups. I will say this two times i wasn't at home and ups left the damn phone in the box right on my door step than goodness no one stole it.

dude i don't restrict my Girlfriend to use my phone since she has a ****ty one.. just didn't realize that one apps that she would install would #[email protected]$ it up ... but hey **** happens and i wont blame her for that. and i also some other people that got there S3 not functional like mine.
so i will keep searching for clues on maybe a fix. or will contact MobileTech..
not the first time to root and ROM other androids.. just bad luck..
and that App also add something to do with he Bootlaoder that i found.. so ya not sure if that had to do something with it.
My past experience with MobileTechVideos has been absolutely superb! When I hardbricked my Captivate I shipped it off and within a week it was back in my hands. The owner, Josh, even offered to flash the newest version of the ROM I was on(Serendipity 6.4 I think) for free! They are professional and have great prices.
Also, what does every single person always say? READ, READ, and READ AGAIN.
Best of luck.

Here's what I would do.
1) Try to get into download or recovery mode: hold either down or up volume key, home key, and then power key and see if you get anything at all.
2) Try a jig to get into download mode (you can find one for sales through mobiletech.
3) Try launching Odin and plugging in phone to see if Odin sees the phone.
4) Worst case is mobiletech for JTAG.

Did Samsung fix it under warranty? I'm in the exact same situation.
Hey guys . I Picked up a three month old galaxy this morning. I have had problems rooting before but always managed to fix them but this I cannot figure out. Here is exactly what I did and what happened.
1.First I rooted my phone using GalaxyS3RootUSCanadaMac.
2. Downloaded the following, superuser, ezunlock, and rom manager.
3. Flashed clokworkrecovery through rom manager.
4. Unlocked the bootloader with ezunlock
5. Tried to reboot into recovery via clockwork and it would just hang and never reboot.
6. Decided to do a restart , so I clicked power on the right hand side and selected restart.
7. Fell asleep and woke up to a dead phone.
I cannot get it to boot at all , not even in download mode. I get no lights or vibrations when trying to boot. If I remove the battery and hook the usb cord in I get a red light at the top but not with the battery in.
Any info on what I might have done wrong or what I can try to do to fix it would be great.
Thanks in advance guys.

This is completely inapplicable to the i747m, and the reason your phone's bricked.
Unless you can somehow get into download mode, you're going to need a JTAG to recover it.

Also, if you did it through the app, I've heard a lot of reports lately of people bootlooping after updating their recovery.
So if you can get it recognized in ODIN, flash a recovery through that and then see if you can get into it
I think i did the same. i was installing liquidsmooth for the S3 and went to reboot it and bam! bricked. i realized i did not do a wipe i just did an install on top of the rom. I have since then tried all button combos but no luck. I have installed odin and seems like when i plug in the phone to the computer and hold VOL UP+home+power my PC recognizes it but i dont think odin does. So I plan on going and buying one off craigslist and activating it in the morning if i cant do anything by then.

FYI if you had a hard brick call Samsung and tell them it just stopped working and they will send you a box pre paid to send your phone in and a refurbished phone for your replacement. I end up getting a new phone as a replacement as I bricked mine a few weeks after the phone can out. I did this three times and the last time got a refurbished one. You don't pay nothing and the phone come in about a week the only thing that stuck is you have to setup your phone all over again. There really nice on the phone and didn't ask me about flashing or rooting my phone they just tried to have me trouble shoot the phone which I couldn't. Oh one thing our phone I's covered for one year manufacture warranty that has nothing to do with the carrier.

Whether or not they do replace it is irrelevant. When you decided to root your phone, you voided any and all claims on your warranty (which covers manufacturers defects only). If all of the people who hard-brick their phones claim it on the sprint warranty, you'll see a drastic increase in one (or all) of the following:
Phone Costs
Plan pricing
TEP Costs
"Premium Data" charges
By "claiming ignorance," you are willfully misrepresenting your situation to Sprint, with the intent to deceive Sprint so that they may pay for your mistake. This, by definition, is fraud. Now, you probably won't be sitting in front of a Grand Jury because of one (or three) replaced phones, but it honestly speaks volumes to your moral character if you see no problem with this.
What you're doing is passing the buck on your mistake off to Sprint. Sprint, in turn, will pass that cost onto us. Please don't recommend this course of action again.
Here is the problem. I install a custom rom. it's working properly. but a few days ago, it says weather widget stop working. and i uninstall it using titanium backup. but after a few days later, the screen is not turning on but it got sound from the lockscreen and opening app drawer. i tried few ways. then, it's working again. but just now, it happened again. screen off. the boot and lockscreen can be hear properly. is it the rom problem or my screen problem? if it is my screen problem, how do i claim warranty since the device already rooted. please help me. this really made me sad. :crying:
Install stock rom via odin then root it again then install traingel away to rest counter then remove root

when you reboot, can you see those white words(galaxy note 2 etc.)? if you cant see those, i am sorry, but it is going to be a screen problem.
you rooted it, but it doesnt matter because they wont be doing anything with your system. they will just change the LCD, so no need to unroot it.

Enter recovery and do a factory reset.

nope. cant see a thing. ohh. but, if they fix the screen, they must turn it on and see wether it's working or not. i use joeldroid and when booting, after galaxy note 2 word, google logo will come up. will they notice that the device is rooted or not?
If your screen is dead, they can't check if the phone is rooted until they fix the screen
Even if they fix the screen, they will most likely be too lazy to check if its rooted.
I once completely destroyed my partitions on my old galaxy by entering a Motorola command in Terminal, + it was rooted
I got my money back

WOW. I didn't know someone can be an asshole this big.
I don't know man.....i don't think so :/
You could try removing the marker with something, and then try sending to the Store you bought it from.
The thing is, with a phone this expensive, no one will give up easily, if it was a 100-200$ phone you would get a replacement no doubt...
the sam but another problem...
Hey i have the Problem that i cant see anymore BUT i dont root or modified my Phone and i can see a colorful screen.
What do you think. is the screen damage or is it the GPU chip?

yeah. i was totally shocked when i found that written at the battery slot. Guess i'll jus go fix the lcd only since there is sound coming when i push the power button. they said it will cost about 400$ to repair it. 200$ for the lcd and 200$ for the main board. i think they just want it to be original just as new. that's why they want to change the main board. what do you think?
