dude i don't restrict my Girlfriend to use my phone since she has a ****ty one.. just didn't realize that one apps that she would install would #[email protected]$ it up ... but hey **** happens and i wont blame her for that. and i also some other people that got there S3 not functional like mine.
so i will keep searching for clues on maybe a fix. or will contact MobileTech..
not the first time to root and ROM other androids.. just bad luck..
and that App also add something to do with he Bootlaoder that i found.. so ya not sure if that had to do something with it.

My past experience with MobileTechVideos has been absolutely superb! When I hardbricked my Captivate I shipped it off and within a week it was back in my hands. The owner, Josh, even offered to flash the newest version of the ROM I was on(Serendipity 6.4 I think) for free! They are professional and have great prices.
Also, what does every single person always say? READ, READ, and READ AGAIN.
Best of luck.

Send your phone to mobiletechvideos.com . The owner Josh is a great guy and has JTagged a device for me 2 weeks ago. The day he received my phone he fixed it and sent it back within 2 hours. I highly recommend them.

Here's what I would do.
1) Try to get into download or recovery mode: hold either down or up volume key, home key, and then power key and see if you get anything at all.
2) Try a jig to get into download mode (you can find one for sales through mobiletech.
3) Try launching Odin and plugging in phone to see if Odin sees the phone.
4) Worst case is mobiletech for JTAG.

1)Tried it
2)Its a Hard Brick so a Jig wont do nothing
3)I did and the Odin never saw it.
4) Tomorrow ill know if i get a new phone or not.. if not ill be contacting Josh to send him my phone and get it revived.
i look up a lot of stuff and unfortunately this phone is done.. ether i send it to mobile tech and get it JTAG or get a replacement.
but thx bro for pointing out suggestion. really appreciate.

All he have to do is call Samsung and they will replace it you have a year factory warranty as long as theres no physical damage. They send the phone fast. I did it four times already don't waste your time looking for solution just tell them it won't boot just turned off and won't start that's all i said. You don't have to have insurance either.

I can vouch for that cause I've had to swap out my 1st. Maybe not due to that particular reason, but still, if it doesn't light up they gets frustrated and swap time.

I used to have an Epic 4G Touch and yesterday accidentally flashed a kernel for it on my S3. I was left with a beautiful pebble blue coffee table piece. I started to freak out because I couldn't power on or anything. Long story short, I purchased my phone less than 14 days ago so I took it back to the store. The technician took a look at it, couldn't power it on and they gave me a replacement phone, no questions asked!!
I promise if you hard bricked hell or even soft bricked you can get it exchanged from Samsung as long as it's been less than a year and no water damage or cracked screen .I really think they don't look into all the rooting stuff they just install new software in the phone and send it right back out to someone else which works for me.
If you go threw your carrier avoid it they ask to much question call Samsung and i sware they will send you a new or refurbished phone but a working one and that's all you can ask for and i didn't pay a dime the box they send you to send your phone is prepaid by them i just put my bricked phone in there then dropped it off to ups. I will say this two times i wasn't at home and ups left the damn phone in the box right on my door step than goodness no one stole it.

[Q] I fracked up, hard. Bricked.

I hardbricked my S3. I messed up, I know. It was my fault that I didn't notice that the Slimbean was only for the international version. I have been looking online for a solution, but all I'm seeing is that I have to get a new phone. I cannot access Recovery or Download mode with or without the battery in while or while not plugged into the computer. Though, while the battery and SD are out, the charging/notification light will light up when plugged into the computer for about one minute, but that's it. Is there anyway to turn it into Sprint for a new one? It's been under a month. So...any advice?

dude thats a very simple soldering job. you can get a soldering iron for like 5 bucks at radioshack, with solder. all those parts can be bought there, and the wire you can just rip a phone cord out of the wall lol

did you mean to quote me? i was just commenting on him saying he didn't have a soldering gun... i'm not saying if it will work or not, but if he did want to try it, it's a fairly simple object to make, with very simple and cheap tools. i don't have to search to know that it's just a few resistors and a male micro usb plug, maybe 15 bucks for everything including the soldering iron.
if you have insurance you can go to a sprint repair store and get it replaced for free... it usually takes about 2 days for your replacement to come in..

That is what I'm planning on doing tomorrow.
UPDATE: I did get it replaced yesterday. Told me it'd take thirty minutes, went out and got lunch. When I came back, they said they have no clue what happened to it to cause it to fry like it did, so they swapped it out for a new model. I'll root tomorrow when I have more time. I'll stick to what I can find here on XDA now on. Any recommendations for a good AOKP ROM?

I know, foolish. Coming from the OG Evo, I didn't have to worry about seeing if it was American or International and which carrier it was for. I'm being more careful this time.
Call samsung say the phone died and won't come on. They will replace it as long as there is no physical damage. One year manufacture warranty is still valid use it f sprint don't waste your time. Samsung is fast at sending you a new or refurbished phone. I had several phones replaced. They send you a new phone or used phone and a box to send your old one. They don't check for rooting or nothing they just install new software on the phone and send it out to the next person. Now ups is my issue with the entire process, they Just leave it on your door step even if your not home it happened twice thank god no one stole my phone, I thought we were supposed to sign for it but I guess not.

I Think I Bricked My Phone.. Any Advice?

Hey guys . I Picked up a three month old galaxy this morning. I have had problems rooting before but always managed to fix them but this I cannot figure out. Here is exactly what I did and what happened.
1.First I rooted my phone using GalaxyS3RootUSCanadaMac.
2. Downloaded the following, superuser, ezunlock, and rom manager.
3. Flashed clokworkrecovery through rom manager.
4. Unlocked the bootloader with ezunlock
5. Tried to reboot into recovery via clockwork and it would just hang and never reboot.
6. Decided to do a restart , so I clicked power on the right hand side and selected restart.
7. Fell asleep and woke up to a dead phone.
I cannot get it to boot at all , not even in download mode. I get no lights or vibrations when trying to boot. If I remove the battery and hook the usb cord in I get a red light at the top but not with the battery in.
Any info on what I might have done wrong or what I can try to do to fix it would be great.
Thanks in advance guys.

This is completely inapplicable to the i747m, and the reason your phone's bricked.
Unless you can somehow get into download mode, you're going to need a JTAG to recover it.

I believe I read about someone else who used this. The unlocker is made for the Verizon variant. You will need JTAG service to get your phone up and running.

exactly some phones will boot into download mode or boot looping and possibly not hard bricked and recoverable thru dwnld or recovery. this is a situation that has been happening on many sg3's called sudden death. happens on a lot of s3's mostly 16 gig. your phone will not boot in any way BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH!. if your is out or you dont want to wait for 14 days for a fix, this guy, as well as others JTAG your system back up with partitions, and reloads you latest OTA or rom basically to sock and you are back in business. my old backups even returned me normal after using odin to get back to root...it is very simple to also flash the wrong rom on your device which also causes a complete shutdown where even a JIG wont bring it into download mode. Point is not spending 60$. 1004 in total of fast fix and return. this guy is straight up and does an incredible job...nik

Sorry to point this out but OP put this post in QA too. Buyer beware, this reeks of a scam.

I dunno, there's a "happy story" from a guy who used MobileTechVideos posted recently, too. I've heard several people on here who have been happy with this dude on eBay so I wouldn't discount it just for that. Anyone who is going to use any JTAG service should do their research - but if it's true that JTAG can "cure" the sudden death problem that would be pretty great - and it doesn't seem completely unbelievable to me so it would be a hypothesis worth investigating, I think.

I have used Mobiletechvideos.com on my S3 when I flashed an international ROM to my T-999. He does great work. I think it was only 5-7 days from shipping it off to when I got it back and I used standard shipping. I also ordered a JIG from him just in case I do a number on myself again. haha.
I also heard of a guy who turned theirs into MTV and was told they did good. This post actually raised my trust with them even higher.

I never post but I had to add my two cents to this one. I used this guy when I hard bricked my phone and I have to agree with everything the OP described. Quick turnaround and pleasant to deal with.:good:
Well I just sent mines into this guy. If he's recommended by someone on here he must be worth trying, I mean I did also learn about mobuletechvideos.com from here. But then again it is off eBay, but the also has a 100% feedback, they can't be lies, right?

I flashed an international ROM on my T-999 months ago and had to send my phone in to them. They had it back to me in less than 1 week. Absolutely awesome.
I have a question though. When I sent my T-999 in, I also ordered a JIG just in case I brick it again. I read somewhere that if you use the JIG to get into download mode and then pull out the JIG, that it will reset your flash counter. Anyone know if that is correct?

place in several places because i didnt want this info missed . dont give that buyer beware bs not everything is a conspiracy
Just for info i have nothing against mobiletechvideo and know they do incredible work, i just can't thro out 100$ everytime i F up my phone. they do incredible work, but charge for every extra deal. 15$ for faster service, 20-25$ for faster shipping just doesn't work for me. I am not making anything from this, just helping out my friends and the community on here. I believe my total came to about 35$ shipped, fixed, and back then i ordered a jig for 1.99 on ebay. would not post anything that is not a benefit to all of us. if you want spam there is prbly a can in ur cabinet in the kitchen. lol hey i like spam

supposedly correct or stated on several post or web pages. mainly you need that to get a bticked phone back into dwnld mode when there is no other option, or you cant use dwn key, home, and pwr . this allow you to be in mode to use Odin to reflash stock or current rome. very handy tool. just google and find out the benefits. have a great day guys
Any links on eBay for $1.99, I'm finding it for $29.99.

Never mind I see them all but my concern is that jigs are not meant for hard brick as stating in the description of the item. If can't get the screen to come on the jig will not help. If I can get the screen to come on might be able to Odin myself, so what's the point of the jig.

GS3 Bricked and need help.

Ok, guys. I typically know what I'm doing, but I wasn't paying full attention when flashing my phone while I was doing a mock fantasy football draft. I went into recovery and flashed a ROM that was for the i9305. Obviously a different phone, but I wasn't paying attention.
The phone does not boot. I plug it in without a battery and it shows the red LED, but that is the only response I can get from it.
I'm not sure where to go from here and that's why I'm wondering what to do from the wonderful members over here.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
About your only option is to send it in for JTAG service Google mobile tech videos they do it for around 50 I believe, there are others that do JTAG for cheaper but don't have the reputation of mobile tech video

Shoot, that's what i really don't want to do.
I ordered a usb jig and I hope that works. Otherwise I might just talk to ATT and see if I can upgrade this line early. Thanks for the input, maybe I can hear some good news from someone else.

This happened to me couple of weeks ago. JTAG is your only option. I used another guy who was cheaper ($25 for JTAG + $5 for shipping and $5 for me to ship the phone over to him). I mailed him the my phone on Friday and it was back in my hand the next Thursday. If your phone is not under warranty, that's your best option. Here's one of his eBay listings: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unbrick-Sam...653?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417592da4d
Just bite the bullet and use an old flip phone for one week
Good luck.

Thanks for the recommendation! That guy does look legit and I may have to go that route. I can't believe I did something this dumb. I may walk into the ATT first and play dumb, maybe get a replacement. I bricked my phone on the wrong day, that's for sure. I'll contact the seller in the meantime and thanks again! Saved me $15 if I have to go that option.

If your phone is still under warranty, you can walk into AT&T and play dumb. They'll give you a refurb replacement.
I played dumb when I did the exact same thing worked for me. Lol

Haha, I hope it works the same way with me! I'm heading over tomorrow morning. Did they give you a refurb in-store, or did they mail it to you? And I'm guessing you had to give them your old phone?

Go to a warranty and repair center if you want a refurb, the stores are just sales reps who will point you in that direction.

One small problem with that, there isn't one close to my location at all. So, I'll head down to my usual store and see what they say. Thanks for the input though. I happen to be the 1%...
There is also a whole thread how to restore after flashing another phones ROM.

Sometimes you can get into DL mode without the screen on... You will see Odin pick it up... Or you might need JTAG. There are a few videos to do it yourself on you tube.

:/ I've tried tons of ways to try and get into download mode. I read that if you are hard bricked, a jig wont work. Odin doesn't want to pick anything up.
I'm heading to ATT in about an hour when they open and hopefully something good comes out of it. I'll be sure to update you guys on what happens.
To every story there is an ending, and here is mine.
I went to the ATT store and played dumb, I tripped when walking into the store and pretended to hurt my leg.
Ok, not really. I walked in, talked to a nice lady and explained how the recent update to 4.1.2 made my phone stop working. Perfect timing, I know, haha. She tried the usual, removing battery, plugging it in and putting in a new battery. Didn't work.
She was very nice and basically said, well, we'll replace it for you for free. I was ecstatic(on the inside). She called up some higher power from the phone and talked to them for a bit. She explained the situation to them and then to me. The device was still under the 1 year warranty from Samsung and they'll replace it for me. I should be getting my new phone in the mail in a few days and just have to mail the bricked one back to them. So happy!
Thank's for the everyone and if anyone finds this story later on, this method works. It's not the most morally acceptable method, but if you look at the big picture, we should technically shouldn't be paying hundreds for a phone plan anyways.
Thanks again, cheers.
