Color adjustments? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Ive searched high and low for a way to adjust colors without having to change the stock kernel
Is there a way to do it? I mostly want to get rid of the grey/purple stuff at low brightness and maybe improve the colors(no that it needs much improvement)
Im running stock JB
Thanks in advance

Purple greys at low brightness are a hardware defect. Adjusting that would make other colors appear very strange.

And no, as far as I know those changes require a kernel that supports it...
If you do change though, the trinity kernel for jb makes the colors look much better

Is it fast/ compared to stock JB kernel? Ive been told that with jb is better to stick to stock kernel for best performance and battery life

Look for the Trickster Mod app in the app section. It allows for tweaking the colours as well if you have a compatible kernel.

CNA 3.3.1 help

After flashing codename android 3.3.1 changing the color settings I.e gamma and multipliers all is good. I recently switched to glados then Franco then popcorn kernel. All of which say they allow color multiplier tuning. But in rom control its faded out.
Anybody know why or how to enable this through the kernel any help would be appreciated

I know with Trinity there are commands that can be issued through terminal, not sure of the one you mentioned, but the easiest way would be through the apps made to tune each specific kernel.
Yeah I figured but Trinity doesn't play nice with my phone and as much as I would love to support the devs I have no money to give yet. But what's the point of the rom control settings to adjust that when they can't. Maybe something in the kernel is stopping the settings from modifying the values?

ROM control probably only works with the default kernel.
Yeah probably wonder why seems to work in cyanogen or is it because they add something to there source to allow that do you know

Not all kernels support the CM type colour controls.
Try Faux or Lean kernel if you want to use the ROM colour controls. If not download and install the free Trickster Mod app and it should allow you to control colour on most kernels.

[REQ] S3 Battery % Mod

There doesn't seem to be a single developer who implements this. I hate circle battery mods, and I think percent in battery looks cheap. I LOVE the way the % looks on the S3 (number + percent sign). If someone could make a zipthemer of that kind of mod, but with ICS colors of course, for Jelly Bean, I would love you for it. I made a zipthemer from one ROM that had the mod built in, but now when I flash it on several ROMs, especially ones with mods, it completely effs up the clock!
CM10 has one very similar. You might be able to pull from there

If you use a cm10 rom with the touchwiz theme and select the percentage battery it will show the green battery icon and a percentage next to it.
Anyone knows any battery mods flashable that work with CNA?

ROM Toolbox Pro

I have had rom toolbox pro for awhile and with my evo 3d it never worked to change status bar icons (battery etc). I was hoping today that it would work on the s3 but still no luck. Am I possibly doing something wrong or is that a known issue? And if it is a known issue what the heck does that feature of the app work on???
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I've emailed the dev a few months ago on this and he said he'd look into it. I think he gave me the run-around.
Damn. That sucks. I was pretty pumped when I remembered I had bought the app and maybe I could finally use it. Thanks anyway dude.

Yeah I tried that. I guess it could work on stock roms but I'm using the Phantom rom where he customized the battery.

Problem is, a lot of ROM toolbox replaces images based on names. There's a lot of redundant images in the touch wiz framework (they add their own images and keep the aosp ones.). This means that ROM toolbox will replace the aosp, which arent the ones in use, so it makes ROM toolbox obsolete. Also, for the battery images, ROM toolbox has 100 different images for the battery packs, it's that it doesn't have 100 images for the charging also, so you'll see your battery icon change shape while you charge.

Hey thanks man. You gave me an idea and I was able to get it working. Seems like the battery icons towards the bottom actually work. Maybe more/less. Just try a bunch.

Depends on which native toggles the stock ones are mainly shortcuts. But the rooted modified version one is quite nice! especially the one that was merged with CM as of yesterday
I agree,
That is the only thing I miss from TouchWiz
Could someone give the best looking ones ?

Regular AOSP style is best looking.

[Q] Help first time changing rom!

I changed my Rom to CM10, and the camera on it takes low quality pictures, and the video is even worse. How do I fix this? Could I get the stock camera back? I also preferred the stock messaging/phone app. How do I get them back? Is any of this possible, while keeping CM10? I'm still a newbie at this. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
Stock apps for samsung do not work on cm or aosp roms. As far as the camera goes some roms have better ones than other you just have to find the right rom.

Thank you for answering my questions. What's a good rom you would recommend, and where could I find other roms?
Ptmr3s jedimindtrick. Or try embryo by mohan
Those are the most stable touchwiz ROMs out there imo
Thanks, I'll look those up. Do you know how to change the color, and look of the little icons (wifi, clock, battery, etc ) on the notification bar? Just in case I don't like the ones on the next rom I get.
