After flashing codename android 3.3.1 changing the color settings I.e gamma and multipliers all is good. I recently switched to glados then Franco then popcorn kernel. All of which say they allow color multiplier tuning. But in rom control its faded out.
Anybody know why or how to enable this through the kernel any help would be appreciated

I know with Trinity there are commands that can be issued through terminal, not sure of the one you mentioned, but the easiest way would be through the apps made to tune each specific kernel.
Yeah I figured but Trinity doesn't play nice with my phone and as much as I would love to support the devs I have no money to give yet. But what's the point of the rom control settings to adjust that when they can't. Maybe something in the kernel is stopping the settings from modifying the values?

ROM control probably only works with the default kernel.
Yeah probably wonder why seems to work in cyanogen or is it because they add something to there source to allow that do you know

Not all kernels support the CM type colour controls.
Try Faux or Lean kernel if you want to use the ROM colour controls. If not download and install the free Trickster Mod app and it should allow you to control colour on most kernels.

Hello everyone,
I am running stock with Franco kernel.
What settings is everyone using to calibrate their display? I haven't really messed with it, but am intrigued by the possible improvements that could be made.
Thanks,
Blue
Do you have francos app?

Yes, sure do.

The experts (I mainly speak of supercurio) stresses not to share gamma and color settings. All of our screens + tastes vary so there's no one size fits all settings. Just play with the values until you get it where you like, then go download supercurio's display expert app. It works wonders

Ive searched high and low for a way to adjust colors without having to change the stock kernel
Is there a way to do it? I mostly want to get rid of the grey/purple stuff at low brightness and maybe improve the colors(no that it needs much improvement)
Im running stock JB
Thanks in advance

Purple greys at low brightness are a hardware defect. Adjusting that would make other colors appear very strange.

And no, as far as I know those changes require a kernel that supports it...
If you do change though, the trinity kernel for jb makes the colors look much better

Is it fast/ compared to stock JB kernel? Ive been told that with jb is better to stick to stock kernel for best performance and battery life

Look for the Trickster Mod app in the app section. It allows for tweaking the colours as well if you have a compatible kernel.

I can't say anything about Glados, but I'm using Francos kernel and app on both, my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 7. The app is amazing, simple to use, autoflash function, holo-style ui and a lot of tweaking options. Not that much options on the N7 yet, but Franco just added the N7 to his app recently. His kernel work is superb, too. Highly recommendable!

Very suspicious... don't think I want much to do with this app
Yeah, we are working on the trickstermod, so we use the same signature.
But the donation link my the profile is another thing. Its my personal thing, not his.

they are only a team man.
to OP
you can use trinity kernel toolbox and pay for it to support the dev.you can do the same with glados control app and franco updater, both withb relative kernel and both to pay to support the dev.at last option, you can use tricksterMOD and if you like the product, donate to the dev (in last days the 2 guys had released this app on the market for free,ma there is also a support version paid.
Honestly,i used all of them from months in my 2 gnex...and i always loved glados more than others.but on n7 i see there aren't yet all the options\features like i have on gnex, and sayng that i would choose tricksterMOD for the fact it is concepited not for only one in mind kernel like others, but at the end all of them do their job greatly.try the trickster free, and if you don't like you'll choose and pick another!:good:
Franco app for me. Been using it on my gnex now that he has his n7 kernel out I'm using it on here to.
Down with the Bloody Red Apple!
Anyone have some recommendations for a toolbox that edits settings for kernel like CPU settings, scheduler, color tuning, fsync settings, sdcaed read ahead and so forth...
Only one I've used had been trickster mod
Thanks
which kernel do you have?
The trinity kernel has an app called trinity kernel toolbox. All the options you listed can be tweaked there. Trickster mod has an app as well to change these values.

Looks like I'll go with Trickster mod, I had a feeling it was pretty good I just wanted to see if the community had a better idea. Thank you very much for the input so far guys!
I m not sure that the Xenon Kernel is completely tunable with Trickster...maybe only the frequencies...
For a complete kernel optimizzation you need something like FrancoKernel, LeanKernel or Trinity. AND then trickster will be very useful...
However you can find my kerenl setting on signature if you want
I use Pimp My ROM, which is free on the play store. I use it with ZenSeries kernel and all seem well.

Yes I know...I thing is a goo apk. I prefer make all the scripts by my own, but at the end is the same thing. These are RAM, SDCARD, DATA, etc ... optimization. Not for frequencies voltages and governor.

I noticed that after installing Trickster that I don't have all the options I did using another kernel that was much more tweaked... You're definitely right when you say the Xenon kernel isn't completely tunable, a lot less options!

I'll definitely look into both, but as Crostanin mentioned it seems to be more script and build.prop tweaking - but without a doubt I am interested in what that has to offer based off a quick glance! Thanks
Yeah sounds like trinity is a good one for you . I should have used larger images haha sorry.

pimp my rom does have cpu and voltage control. i personally use it for other than those, and trickster mod with pro key for kernel adjustments. i really like trickster, better than glados and from what i've seen from trinity, i like it better than that too.
Hello All,
I can't seem to find the location on this ROM that allows you to change the governor settings... I swear I've looked everywhere!
i dont use that ROM but just FYI, kernel control features may not be built into it. as a matter of fact, a lot of ROMs dont have any built in kernel setting controls. where you using it before and it had it? saw a user running slimbean this morning with ktoonsez kernel. full control
Probably...

It's the kernel that came with the ROM, 3.4.41-slim-g846750a. I just read of people talking about changing their governors and wanted to give it a try..
i use (and only use) ktoonsez kt747 kernel with any ROM i am on (tasks latest currently). it comes packaged with an app that allows me to select and make governor and scheduler adjustments as well as tweak many other things in order to improve stability and battery life. highly recommend.
You can enable the developers settings by going into settings>about phone>and tap on build number 6 or 7 times and that will unlock the performance options

Thanks for all the help guys. I activated the developer options, but there are still no governor settings. I think I'll try flashing the KT rom suggested above.
