Anybody coming from Sensation? What is your experince with Gnex when comparing against Sensation?
Things that are most important to me are:
Camera, GPS, Screen quality, Reliability, Call quality.
Can anyone who had a Sensation and now owns a Gnex comment on these?
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I came from a sensation all all the things you mentioned works fine, including BT.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I did, and in my opinion its an upgrade. The only problem that I have is the sound (ringtones, call quality) is low. The screen is nicer than the sensation and the phone is lighter, no problem whatsoever with the GPS. And it has a great community working on development if your into rooting and such. Plus already rocking jelly bean. Which is an upgrade in os.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Oh yeah camera is as good maybe a little better than the sensation.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Thanks for the answer.
Can you tell me if the camera takes good quality pictures since it is a 5 mp camera.
Can you or somone else elaborate on each of these when comparing to Sensation?

Is it lower than Sensation's?
It was low on the Sensation already.
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I don't take a lot of pictures but do believe the picture quality is better than the sensation but that could also be that the screen quality is a lot nicer, and as far as the call quality its a little worse for me but I'm on Tmobile and live in lousy reception area.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Imho camera on sensation was better that is all Gnex is a definite upgrade for me screen is much clearer I really can't think of anything the sensation could even come close in comparison not to mention the ease of unlocking rooting and running the latest and greatest from Google when it drops from source not ported the best thing I did was switch from HTC to the Gnex my calls are clear and Imo better gps spot on quick I sold my sensation about 1 week after getting Gnex

I have just come from the sensation a week ago and haven't looked back, its simply in another league, I also chose it over the s3 and one x which imo were a massive disappointment

Gnex is the best phone, better then sensation. Cause its 100% android no tweak means more fast in terms of sotware. And the UI is clean. Faster update best screen quality.what else do you want?

It sounds like a you're more interested in the camera aspect of the phone. The sensation has a better camera then the GNEX. But the GNEX is far better in the software department. I came from the sensation and was blown away on how easy the learning curve is for ICS and now JB. But if I was going to choose camera over updated software, I would have you upgrade the HTC One X. That phone is a solid shooter and you're already used to HTC sense

Well the camera is definitely important to me, but I saw some amazing shots from the picture thread with the Nexus.
I am running CM9 on my Sensation though because i don't like Sense much, is so buggy and slow.

Came from sensation about two months ago and I have never looked back, best choice I ever made the camera is actually better cause of the lens and fact that there is no shutter lag I still have my sensation and sometimes I will play with it and it doesn't even compare, go for it

I've narrowed it down to these two phones. What does the nexus have that the rezound doesn't?

Rezound. You get beats, and sense.
HTC. Simple.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
There should be zero reason why you should get the Rezound unless you absolutely cannot live without HTC Sense and microSD slot. The Nexus is simply better in almost all aspects imo.
The Rezound uses the Qualcomm S3 cpu, its simply slower than the OMAP 4 of the Nexus. My Nexus could play HD MKV videos smoothly, while my previous T-Mobile SII (using the same S3) can't while overclocked to 1.8GHz, and everything else is smoother on the Nexus.

Are you serious? You'll never get sense 4 (officially), which is the only good sense version since 2.1. And beats? Sure you get ear buds, but you can pick those up anywhere. And as for the sound software, I can easily beat it using DSP Manager on my phone. If you're joking though, sorry for the mini rant.

I have a Nexus and my wife has the Rezound.
The Rezound is considerably slower and laggier in every area except the launcher and camera. Using the browsers between them is a night and day difference. Scrolling/zooming anywhere and even just pulling down the notification shade is pretty laggy compared to the Gnex.
The only slight pros it has over the Gnex is a slightly better display (it's extremely crisp and bright - the Rezound still has the highest PPI of any phone on the market) and reception seems to be a bit better than my Nexus. I haven't really had the signal issues you see a lot of people complain about, but the hand-offs on the Rezound between 4G to 3G and visa-versa are much faster. Sometimes I have to toggle LTE/mobile data to pick up 4G, even with the newest radios. Not a big deal though, I have a widget for it in my notification bar so it doesn't even take 2 seconds. (Edit) Oh, and the camera on the Rezound is a lot better of course too in terms of IQ. Nexus is just faster loading and taking pics since it has zero shutter lag.

The SD card thing isn't an inconvenience at all. Most of the people who rip on the Gnex for the SD issue don't actually own a Gnex. They just read on some website that it didn't have an SD port and were like HERP DERP OMG NO SD CARD DIS IS TURRIBLE PHONE!!1111
Get the Galaxy Nexus. It's absolutely awesome.

It's all about personal preference. The Nexus has data speeds with a theoretical max of 21 Mbps where as the S2 is 42.
On the other hand, the nexus will always have the latest and greatest software ( as long as the device is still supported by google).
Depends on what you're going to do. With a custom ROM, I found the performance to be slightly better with the G.Nexus in normal day-to-day activities such as texting and web browsing (because of Project Butter). However, the difference is pretty small. I also highly prefer the stock OS but G.Nexus does not have wifi calling so that was a deal breaker for me.

Having had a Nexus One previous to a Galaxy S II, it's a no brainer to me. Galaxy Nexus brand new for $350 running Jelly Bean Stock.... there's really no decision here...

I really want a Samsung device. I can't afford 500+ for a new phone. But 350, hella yeah. With this Nexus you wouldn't need to worry about "lack of roms". Plus, from what I've been seeing. I don't think Google is releasing a new Nexus Phone. The Nexus 7 & Q took that place this year. So you wouldn't need to worry about an old device

Get the Galaxy Nexus if you like to get updates from Google and if you want a bigger screen. Get the S2 if you want a better camera and touchwiz.
S2 with AOKP all the way but that's just my opinion.

What exactly do you think you are supposed to be seeing? Google has released a new device every year since creating the nexus program, why would this year be any different?
Just looking for opinions...
I know these are both old phones, but I want to stick with 3g phones because they work on pageplus without manual programing. So please don't suggest any other phones that are 4g.
That said, the fascinate and incredible 2 are similar in specs, but I wonder which one runs jellybean the best?? I've heard that samsung has better support, but the inc2 has slightly better hardware.
Has anyone here owned both? Comments?
Seems like the fascinate has great support, just remember that this phone has a front facing camera, wireless charging, its global and i prefer sense to touchwiz if you were to ask. Also the camera on the Inc 2 is better than most 2011 and back phones
My dad had a fascinate and it was terrible. Kept freezing and gps sucked *ss.

You guys seem to forget that the CM crew turned the original Galaxy S line into little Nexus S clones. Hence why they get official CM nightlies while this phone doesn't.
No offense though, the Inc2. Was a hell of a phone
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Samsung may have great support, but you can't compare the inc2 to the galaxy s or the quality of the phones. Hell the HTC one is the sexiest android alive save for the Moto X.
Plus we got cm nighties, all you need to do is install the updates provided by chilly, or try Evervolv, or if you wanna level with the s1, cm7 nighties

I'd avoid the Fascinate, the radio on it is horrible. I've used both with page plus and the Fascinate had no signal in areas where the INC2 and droid x did. I couldn't make calls with the Fascinate in some areas where the inc and droid x could.
Dear forum,
Hope you all are doing well and that your devices are functioning at peak capacity. I am currently using HTC Sensation 4G with a 4.2.2 AOSP Rom and happy with it. However, I have an opportunity to get a Tmobile Galaxy S2 *T989* in an exchange with my phone. I can't seem to decide which is a better option. Is the S2 camera better? My Sensation occasionally stutters a few times per day and the S2 has an offical JellyBean release.
Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
