[Q] Battery mA

Baterry usage
29/30ma in standby, isn't that too much? When IDLE
HD2- normaln/ idle 3-8mA
Normal for G2 is ??

yeah thats fairly normal matey, mine is always on 30ma in idle and 250-300 in use.
my battery lasts a full day sooo i dont mind
my old hd2 lasted me a whole day as well.
i dont mind much difference in battery life between the two phones
just make sure you use setcpu and make a profile so that when the screen is off the cpu min is 256 and the cpu max is 256... you could set the max a little higher if you want but i have no problems using this setup.

Currently on miui and I have 3-8 on idle on average. I always check my ma usage with current widget.

Yeah I tripped out too when I first saw it. Made a huge difference in my battery life. I running the stock rom off the miui-dev site with the English translation pack over it. I love the rom.

Edit: Damn I feel like a retard. I didn't see that I was in the G2 forum. I got a G2 also. It was my nexus one which was clocking in at 3-8ma sorry. Still worth a shot to try it out.

im guessing from the looks of it its like android with a smoother interface like ios

What kind of idle consumption are other people getting?
I feel like mine is kind of high, but not sure. G2 stock OTA rom. Perm rooted and Oced, running SetCPU. Currentwidget says somewhere between 37-40mA in idle. That gets me something like 30-33 hours of pure idle on wifi calling.

My DZ (currently running stock rooted Sense 1.82) idles at about 28mA if I have Wi-fi/data off, 2G only, and SetCPU locking the CPU to minimum when the screen's off... about 32-35mA with Wi-fi/data on and 3G (SetCPU still locking the CPU to minimum when the screen's off)

[Q]battery drain

Hi you all
I resently went from Android Revolution Hd to CM 7, and I'm a bit suprised over the battery drain I have had the first cycluses.
My DHD have no been on for about 7 houres, an I have allready not more than 25 % of battery left with moderate usage. With this much usage it lastet until late night on stock and with Android Revolution HD, and my phone is configured the same as before, only there are fewer things that are syncing on cm7 than on the others roms?
I did a full swipe prior to installing a new rom, I cleaned dalvik cache, and reset battery stats after instalation.
I am using the recomended radio 26.04.02.17_m2 with the RIL for that radio.
What I did was to install launcher pro and uses that instead of the adw launcher, do I need to do anything else with the ADW other than just set the launcher pro as standard launcher?
Anybody else had these problems or has any suggestions?

CM7 eats more there is nothing we can do about it I think.
Put that aside I am user and I bought it to use it, it lasts for me about 5-6 hours sometimes less, what bothers me my battery is always hot but I need to charge it to use it. I fear it'll explode someday.
But when I am not using it it can eat about 1 percent or less but I do not need it to lay around doing nothing. Should have bought galaxy tab or somethin.

Even with my Arc and light usage (only 20 mins wifi per day) I can barely reach 3 days

How is 5 days possible? What settings do you use and what program is that?

WTF?¿?¿ HOW YOU CAN DO IT? wen i flash CM7 in my htc hero or my DHD the batteryThe battery is consumed in 1 ' 5 days more or less.

The problem was solved for me after the 7.02 update, and by installing the newest test radio. With moderate to heavy usage I get somwhere around 20 - 30 hours.
Extremely happy with how my DHD is acting with this ROM. I missed Sense applications, but after installing Launcher PRO I got it the way I wanted.
But 5th days..... Thats impressive

you know some apk that simulates the favourite contacts (like htc widget)with a facebook association?
for simulate the flip&clock i use fancy widgets.apk or wheather and toogle widgets.apk by addon... I surprised this one, because it is very seemed to that of HTC, but I do not spend it because for it it is roms with sense hahaha

Rom with best battery life

As per title, which roms has gives the desire the best battery life? I presume it will be AOSP roms like redux?

to the OP: the battery life ONLY depends on how u use the phone. every rom is about same..no magic things anywhere

But as far as i know, it also depends on what kernel and/or radio you are using

And I think that Oxygen is the best battery saver.

Haven't tried Oxygen but Redux is pretty good.

What was 26 hours with SGBS ended up being 51hrs on Oxygen. Same widget setup, both times the device was used with screen on time of 2h30m and roughly the same talk time. I was at the same place both time and the radio was the same, this one in my sig.

How much "Screen on" time do you people get?
I can easily get 3 days if I don't use my phone at all, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a smartphone.
The max display on time I can get is between 4-5 hours.
But that is if I use it for reading a pdf-book in night mode (black background with grey text)
If I browse the interwebs I get max 2½ hours because of the mostly white background.
Playing games (Angry Birds) is 1½-2 hours.
What do all of you get?

For me Oxygen is the best ROM for battery performance.

Screen on time nearly five hours (checking facebook and twitter, email, some chat and xda forum app; brightness: 20 - 25 %) with some phone calls drains my battery from 100% to 10% with ~ 1d 11h on it. At the moment I do not play any games.
CPU-Setting: Min 245, Max 768 ONDEMAND governor. I do not use setcpu or juice defender or anything like this. Just the cpu controller included in oxygen. Could not notice any difference so far. Thalamus' kernels seems to be very well programmed.

Poor 3G signal will ruin the battery. As well as using that stupid Facebook app. Uninstall it and use the web browser. Also how much screen on time.

absolutely, that damned facebook app! your screen on time is adout an hour there(it looks like). is your brightness up high or are you using auto brightnes? do you have root, what governor are you using? whats your cpu speed?

try ondemand/deadline sampling rate 15000 up threshold of 98%, or try interactive/sio(i dont use it so cant give you good settings for this combo). if still fine for you, lower the brightness a little more(33%?).

there are a few good posts out on the net about how to save battery life. common talking points would be
Turning off Wi-Fi
Adjust screen brightness
Turn off mobile data when not needed
Turn off Sync for apps that don't need to be always in Sync
Haptic feedback
and many more..
I guess these are the really common ones, so give it a try and see how it works for you

Actually I get way better battery life with wifi on its weird.....if I use mobile data my phone gets hot and my battery just falls!

If you have a VZW Nexus I don't think it's an app, the screen, etc. The wife, the girlfriend, and I all have the Nexus and none of us can make it through the day for the last week or so. The drain is terrible. And we don't all have the same apps installed. I wanna say something's changed about LTE because besides the hardware and Jelly Bean it's the only thing absolutely all three phones have in common. But I have no actual proof, so...

I have the sprint galaxy nexus, and honestly your battery life seems pretty normal if its a CDMA variant. I'd actually consider that to be pretty good battery life considering its a CDMA nexus

Was that with the screen on the entire time? Or mostly idle and screen off? For screen on, that's not that bad. For idle, that's a little off. Me, personally, I only get about 3 hours at below minimum brightness (modified with rom). Try turning down your brightness even more. It should help. The screen is the biggest killer of battery life on the nexus, especially because it's not optimized for it. As well, keep wifi on. Don't turn it off. It'll just waste more battery switching it constantly. Only turn it off if you are going to be using data for an extended period of time. As well, you could try a different kernel. I'd recommend trinity, but it depends on your rom and what features you like.

An hour screen-on, 50% brightness, and the Facebook app can easily chew 33% of your battery... especially if you're on a stock battery.
As an aside, how can you even stand 50% brightness (assuming you're not in bright sunlight)? 50% just seems way too bright. I typically run at 10% brightness indoors, even at work, where we have fairly bright fluorescent lighting.

True that! At first I didn't think the FB app was consuming that much battery, but I tried uninstalling it and the battery statistics have greatly improved. Hope FB gets to fix this soon, it's nice to use facebook through a native app rather than a browser. Don't you think?

Try Fast For Facebook, it doesn't offer as much as the regular app, but it's an app and it doesn't suck up as much juice.

sorry for no information & no screenshots or anything...i never thought to take any screenshots.. i only open my mobile network..and its on for 24/7..when screen off yet the battery still drain so fast..

Post a Screenshot of your battery drain in the settings and give details about your setup. And what is fast in your opinion? 1% /hour?
Maybe you should buy the extended battery kit?

try flashing different kernels and see which one suits u the best.every phone is different.u may also wanna underclock and undervolt. also change the rom may b if changing kernel doesnot work.ine suggestion.XenonHD rom with its stock kernel.

The stock battery is a joke at 1800 and the extended is 2100...I had both and both sucked although the 2100 was a lil better. I have the 3800 Seiko battery now and that will last me all day. Makes the phone thicker but its better then charging all day and worrying about what's killing your battery.

Also avoid auto task killers

How much does it drain in one hour? Battery drain depends on many factors. The mains ones would be what kernel and ROM you are running as well as what "features" you have turned on. For example I am running CM10.1 with the stock CM kernel and I usually get around 16-18 hours of battery life with 1.5-2 hours of screen time.. that is with all of the features (gps, NFC, etc.) turned OFF.

How on earth can you drain a 3800mAh battery in one day? Nonstop internet radio AND 3d gaming on full display brightness?

I am currently using PA rom with franco kernel. Normal day = roughly 13-15 hours ish.
By normal day I mean around 30 minutes of talk time, about 1 hour ish web browsing and like what, 30 minutes ish of youtube? Of course, sometimes I am free and end up playing games on it for couple hours lol, but the stock battery seems to be plenty enough to me.

My battery makes it about 15-17 hours,with about 1 hour gaming,1 hour browsing and talk time around 1,5 hours...Xylon + Purity Kernel!

Turn data off when not using it. You can download a widget for that.
Keep screen brightness down low.
If rooted use setcpu and choose a screen off profile of 350mhz maximum - I find this a real benefit.
