Has anyone received their $100 MIR from Sprint from the June 4th launch?
The rebate won't process until after the 30 day period, so I would imagine not many have received it yet. I got an email tuesday that mine was processing. Bought my Evo on 6/11 and sent in the rebate on 7/6. They received my rebate form on 7/13.
oh and btw, the launch was 6/4, not the holiday
I haven't received mine yet and have just passed the 30 day mark as of one week ago. I sent an email to the Support email provided in the rebate "status" page, but haven't yet received a response.
I plan on calling up customer care if I don't get a reply in another week or so...

Not tryin to be a d!ck but the process usually states that it will take like 4-8 weeks. If you're just trying to get them to expedite the process I understand, but realistically I wouldnt expect any $$ for at least a month after its started 'processing.' It appears you've only given them a week and a half so far.
Yes, typically, the rebate process is not quick at all. Give it the full 8 weeks, chances are, you'll get it around week 7. (from past experience)
agreed, typically you'll get it towards the end of the "up to 8 weeks" they tell you it takes.

I actually recieved a denial letter in the mail. Took it to the store employee I bought it from, and she resubmitted it.
Just though it important to note...
If you had to swap out your phone for another for any reason after already submitting the MIR, you will need to re-submit one for the 2nd phone (assuming it was a within 30 day exchange). The first MIR will end up being rejected.
Got a letter today telling me it was rejected because they did not get the right sales receipt, even though I orded online, and sent in everything they asked me to (before I actually received my evo).
Oh well, now I got my shipping receipt, i'll send that in. (But I also exchanged my phone within the 30 days, due to some issues... but I have no new information... hopefully I don't get rejected again).

Had I known it would've taken UP TO 30-45 days, I would have just bought the damn thing from Best Buy. Boo.

6-8 Weeks seems to be the norm from my past experience with many phones / rebates over 10+ yrs w/ Sprint.
I bought my EVO at Best Buy (1st come 1st serve) when Sprint Stores had a waiting list and their website had the "i'm sorry but you can't get one message..." I was shocked to walk into Best Buy Renew My contract and get the phone for $199 + tax out the door. No 8week wait for the MIR.
The Icing was when I called Sprint Tech Support to get my MSL Code 3 days later and the rep tells me I'm eligible for a credit if I extend my contract... Hmmm? The same one I "just" extended @ Best Buy (2 yrs from that day?). I was happy to extend for 3 more days and a $70 Credit that was applied while I was on the phone. Gotta love inefficiencies.
"checks are in the mail..."

Awesome feedback to this post. I was unaware of https://www.sprintrebates.com and also never considered that the processing period would not begin until after the 30-day "trial".
My status:

Status Detail: Your rebate is approved and is in the final stages of processing and should be mailed to you within the next 30 days. Thank you
Thanks everyone!
anyone received their check yet?
I received my check yesterday. I bought the phone around 20th of June.....
I just deposited the rebate check I got today in the mail.
I haven't even checked on mine yet. I got an email awhile back that said they received my mail. Of course, I was told it would take ~14 weeks to get it back too. I think I'm going to go check on it....
I have a Droid Incredible that I got probably a week or two after the release date (somewhere around May 2010). So my 2-year contract ends around the first or second week of May of 2012. My Dinc is pretty much dead, lots of problems with it now and I need to replace it before May. I was wondering if anyone in a similar circumstance (or anyone who knows) can give me an estimate on how much it will cost to upgrade to the GNex tomorrow? I also have a employer discount of 20% monthly and 25% on accessories (if that has any effect).
Also, in case it matters, my name isn't set as the owner of the Family Plan that I am on but I do have the main line that the Plan is attached two (the other two lines on the family plan are the added lines). Not sure if I need to get him to come with me (we live 2 hours apart) or if getting him on the phone/knowing his SSN would be enough to allow me to upgrade. I will be paying for it in cash so I don't need to charge it to the monthly phone bill.
Thanks,
Steven
I don't believe you can get an early upgrade until 20 months into your contract.. so you would have to wait until January to get it for $299.. Otherwise it will most likely be $649 off contract if you really can't wait..
That would really suck considering it is only like $150 for the ETA. They can't let me pay the $150+300 for the phone? I guess I can wait until mid January but my phone sometimes goes days where it reboots every 10-15 minutes plus even with the extended battery it can be 10% by like 1pm (used to last 2 full days easily). Some days it is virtually impossible to use and I just leave it at home. (sorry for ranting, lol)

Haha no worries, I was in this position before my Nexus with my original Droid
You can certainly try, it depends on who you talk to really.. if you talk to someone who is having a particularly good day that has enough authority (I'm assuming a store manager could do this) then you might be able to get it a month early, who knows.. worth a shot. Goodluck
I have a Droid Incredible and Verizon shows I am eligible to upgrade. I had already planned on upgrading to the Nexus but I accidentally killed my phone over a month ago which made me even more anxious.
I don't think I upgraded to the Incredible right away (at release) but I might have. Still only a two week difference and I was eligible to upgrade (with a renewed contract) back in November for sure.

I got my OG Droid a week before the dInc came out, and I was eligible on 12/3... so those of you who bought a dinc day of, or really early on, may be eligible right now or very very soon.
That being said I spoke to a guy who got me my Rezound a day early (I returned it because it was bad, 2 of em) because I was going out of state and I just went about it not expecting them to help me but asking kindly for some help because my OG Droid's headphone jack is all but shot and I use it to listen to music in my car.
Dont know if it will work, but only a manager can force the system to let you get an upgrade early. Worth a shot, just dont get your hopes up. Good luck.
Edit: I just read about the not being the primary / authorized person on the account to make changes, you may run into a lot of road blocks. You may have to have the account owner call up Verizon and see if there is anything they can do to get you authorized to make changes. Even though you aren't charging the phone to the account. If you are paying the subsidized price for the device you are infact signing a contract that binds that line up for a set amount of time. (2 years most likely)
don't let the responses discourage you. I signec a 2 year this past march & got the thunderbolt. in october, the thunderbolt started having some "big" issues & I wasn't paying for insurance so decided to call 611 for the hell of it and see if they'd do anything for me.
they ended up offering me an early upgrade!
which I eventually used for the rezound and exchanging tomorrow.
definitely call them & see what they can do. I wouldn't bother going to a store as they'd just tell you to call anyway.
Early Upgrade
If you signed a "New Every 2" plan before Jan 2011, you should be able to upgrade your phone after 12months. VZ will tell you that's there's a $20 charge for upgrading early. This is an optional charge. I upgraded from my OG Droid (bought 11/09) 13months later to the Droid X on 12/1/10. Charged the extra $20 bucks. I signed a new 2 year contract (ne2). I just upgraded to the Droid RAZR on 12/3/11. When I upgraded to the RAZR, they waived the $20 charge.
After Jan/2011 VZW did away with the NE2 plans and now enforce the 20month upgrade discount policy. Now I'm not sure how this affects you when you are not the primary on the account. But I would at least look into it. Also if you go through multiple phones, talking to Customer Relations not service might help you get an early upgrade for repeat problem phones.
I tried Amazon Wireless and it said I wasn't eligible, so then I tried LetsTalk. They said I am not eligable until 1/4/12 so that is only 20 days from now. I am going to call Verizon this evening or tomorrow and see if I can get them to bump it up less than a month so I can purchase it earlier, otherwise I guess I can wait until January 4th.
It also said I can order it now and they will hold it for me until the fourth. LetsTalk's price is $174.99 for me to upgrade so I may order it now to lock in that sale price, though it would suck if they or somewhere else got a better deal by then. Hmm, decisions..
I emailed Verizon last week and they just called me back and left a voicemail saying they will let me get my upgrade early! I have to call the specific person back and I hope she will enable my upgrade not just force me to buy it through her (Verizon) instead of being able to get it though Amazon or LetsTalk since I would be saving $125. I will let you guys know in case anyone else is interested in upgrading early.
I was able to upgrade early despite being in contract only 8 months in with my Thunderbolt. I had to agree to buy some accessories which came out to be about $400 total but it sure beat the price of paying $650 + tax for another 8 months extension.
It all depends on who you talk to I guess.
I had the dinc and got it about 3 weeks after release. I got my nexus on Thursday and just had to pay the $20 early upgrade fee. Was about $360 when it was all said and done. Go to your store and just ask. Doesn't hurt.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I had to buy it through Verizon but she discounted it so it wasn't the full $300. I should have it in two days and I already purchased a screen protector and also the extended battery for $25. A nice Christmas present to myself.
I too came from having a Dinc. I got my Dinc in July 2010. When I was on VZW website it said I was able to upgrade back when the T-Bolt came out. I just waited till the GN came out and ordered it and only had to pay the $299 + tax. Nothing else. Was disappointed no discount like the old days w/ new every 2 years but oh well. I was even able to bill to my account w/ free shipping and just got it and life is good.
Just got a Brand New GS3 for $.99 with ATT
AT&T has matched Sam's Galaxy S3 BF price of .96 and let me upgrade 2 weeks early. I can provide proof if you need it, I have the email confirmation. This totally beats waiting in those black friday lines. They also said that I can call back when i get my bill and they will remove the 36$ activation fee
I just called at&t and asked them if they could override the upgrade date to make it 2 weeks earlier to take advantage of sam's offer on black friday. But they said that they could not do it, but they could price match it. Now, I am getting the GS3 2 weeks before black friday at the black friday sam's club price without having to wait in those ridiculous lines!
Thanks, I will try this tomorrow

Did you ask to speak to someone in a particular department (retentions, etc) or did you just start with the person who answered when you called? I want to be sure I direct the request to the same place so I can get this deal too.
Thanks!
damn. i paid full subsidized price for my wife and mine. baaaaah. this was almost 2 months ago though, so there ain't no way i'm gettin' anything back. thankfully, i sold my unlocked iphone 4 for $300 to help offset the costs.

Woohoo! I just called AT&T and they refunded me the price for the Gs3 I purchased a week ago. Sweet! Thanks for the heads up!
So does ATT PM? EverytimeI talk to them, they say we dont do that.. Wife needs a new phone.. I'll try later today.
The best I got for my S3 was, $200 credit, with upgrade fee reversed, and 2 year contract removed. Of course this came with a cost, I had to battle with ATT for a week about my unlimited data,

I just tried and got shot down, they told me they do not price match.
Went to the retail store as well and got shot down there as well.
They say they wont price match but sometimes can just get them to credit the difference to your bill
Confirmed! I got the price match via 611.
I JUST got off of the phone getting the price match. So here are the details:
I've been an AT&T customer since before the Cingular merger, but have been off contract for about 2 months. (Last contract renewal w/ phone upgrade was Sept 2010)
I called into 611, and the upgrade sales department. I told my CSR Justyn (female) that I was off contract, and interested in the GS3, but I was not sure I wanted to go back on contract for a $200 phone. I asked if AT&T would be willing to price match an offer from Sam's club for the GS3 w/ a 2 year contract. She asked how much, I replied with $0.96. (Note: I did not mention that this was a Black Friday special) After verifying that my account was in fact out of contract, she put me on hold to ask her manager if this price match could be confirmed.
She came back from hold, said that her manager would match that price to start a new 2 year contract. I also made sure to get an email documenting that I would keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan.
Final cost: 16GB GS3 - $0.96 + $10.36 S,H,&T = $11.32 total.
If you call in, are polite, but with hesitation to upgrade (and being available to do so) I don't see a problem for anyone else trying to get this for themselves.
(BTW - My GF just got a GS3 a few days ago, and is pissed that she paid $199. She is going to see about getting a refund from T-Mob tonight. )
Awesome, just got off the phone with ATT customer care (third time`s the charm), they credited $200 to my account as a price match from bestbuy (BB price matched me for Amazon`s $99) .
Another success story, just got off the phone. Got a very nice rep, was super polite, said i was a long time customer (even though it only showed i was since January) and got my phone fully refunded! Big thanks to the OP for this!
Well I had mixed success. I followed the approach of nae10135 and I ended up getting them for $50 each, which is what I had been hoping to pay before I saw these extreme deals for BF. I called, spoke to a guy who said $50 each, I said I needed to think about it and he said he'd put a note on my account. I called back an hour later and the lady I spoke to said that they were $300 each (!) and that she didn't have to honor the note on the account. I called back again right away and told the guy I was confused about whether they would honor the offer from the first guy and he was like "Of course we will, it's already noted on your account."
Took longer than I expected but they should be here early next week. When we were almost done I thought to ask if a local AT&T store would have honored the price from the first guy and he said that they might or might not, but I kind of wish I'd gone by to check so I didn't have to wait for shipping etc. Oh well.
The most important thing to me was getting it for a decent price and not having to lose my data plan, which I would have given up if I'd actually gone to Sams.
Nice. Yeah att has been very generous lately. For me for instance. I renewed my contract and got the S3 in July for 150. Went in in September and upgraded my same contract again and got the hox for 99.00 to sell. Then just last week they let me upgrade the same contract again and sold me another gs 3 for 199. So I got three phones at the subsidised price in like 4 months time

I bought my s3 almost a month ago for the full subsidized price of $199. Felling inspired by this post I called att and got a $99 credit on my account. So not as great as $.99 but an improvement from where I'm sitting.
i was informed by a guy who commented on my post on the at&t facebook page, that if your upgrade was after march 1, 2012, that verizon and at&t will add another 6 months to your contract. what do you all think about this, and more that these 2 phone companies are being backed by the us government?
Didn't you sign a contract that stated the term of the agreement was 2yrs? If so, if they change anything on your contract, they are guilty of breech of contract. Why would they want to extend the period of your contract anyway? That's saying, we won't let you spend another $200+ for a new phone, for 6mo longer. Doesn't make sense.
here are some sources for you...
http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/09/att-extends-upgrade-period-to-two-years/
http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/12/verizon-upgrade-eligibility-extends-to-a-full-two-years/
in short, it used to be at the 20th month, you can upgrade and re-new your contract. but now, you have to wait until the 24th month.
but i believe this only applies to new customers/contracts/renews.
I think this is great.... I have been wanting to leave att for years, but I always see the shiny new device when 20 months rolls around and end up buying it. Now next time I am eligible for an upgrade my contract will be up too, so moving to another carrier will be much more tempting.

If you buy a Nexus, or any phone, outright they won't haveyou under their thumb
They can change the upgrade dates if they want
I Did a cross upgrade with my wifes account back in Dec. They messed up the order and sent 2 s3 for free and gave back the upgade eligability for my wifes line. Today I called to ask about cross upgrading again. Both of my s3's have cracked screens. I don't have an upgrade available for my line until Dec. 2014. Told them I wanted a cross upgrade and why. They responded by offering me an early upgrade on an S3 for $1 or the s4 For $100 on my line. And still left my wife's line upgrade in place. Waived the activation fee and overnighting it for free. So in 6 months I have gotten 3 s3's for a total of $1(that includes upgrade fees and shipping) and I still have my wife's upgrade for later when I want either the s4 or whatever. The customer rep was very upfront with telling me that they can waive whatever they want including upgrade dates. I still have unlimited data and I pay a great rate because of my companies discount. So all in all I have always been a fan of ATT and it's customer care department. Just be polite!!
Oh and they can't do anything for Iphones. Another reason to stay android.
Most of the other carriers are ahead of the game. What happened to T-Mobile?
Based on their past record, they probably won't announce a BOGO deal until after the trade-in offers expire. Perhaps they will offer BOGO for the next holiday, such as memorial day...
I was surprised that they went with a trade-in offer this time, as their new favorite deal seemed to be just BOGO's last year...
Really looking to switch to t mobile and get the s9, but waiting on the bogo deal. Asked a store and the guy said in 2 weeks. Of course I don't know how accurate that is, but would be perfect for me and my dad to hop on it, especially since he can get the senior plan for 70 bucks for 2 lines.. Lol
Sprint does NOT have a BOGO. They only offer a lease one get a free lease on a second. So a LOGO, only you never own the phone, you only get to make perpetual payments.

Actually , their "trade in" is a bit iffy. You get a S9 for a trade in, and in return they offer $12.89 refund per month for 24 months IF you finance the S9.
I handed them over a S7 I had from 2 years ago, and in return I pay $17.11 per month for the S9. It's not like I can pay $360 instead if $720 and own the phone. The quick way out is pay $720 and keep the line to keep getting the refund, or lose it. In my case, I don't mind as I can't get a better international deal than TMO elsewhere for the price, and I travel a lot..

Man, that sucks... I purchased mine from Samsung directly... Tmo version was about $420 with the trade-in, and luckily they only make you pay tax on that amount (not the 700+ price).
I also wanted to put it all on my credit card as one payment because anything I purchase with it automatically gets 1 extra year of warranty... (chase saphire reserve)
Any idea about how long these sales last on the bogo? Been waiting for this, but now my father left on a trip and can't do it till around April 24th and he gets the senior discount so I just get on his plan. But who knows if the sale will be then. My biggest dilemma is losing my phone number from straight talk as I'm on straight talk now and want to save the number, but if he goes to a store elsewhere and ports my number over, I'll be phoneless for a few weeks til I get my Sim card back from them
You can get a new line without porting your number over. Then when you get to your sim card or whatever then you can go to the store and finish the port
