do you have a lot of apps running in the backround? are you running a rom? a custom kernel?

Have you tried calibrating the battery?

Your screen isn't going to sleep.
My solution when this happens is to wipe my caches, usually works flawlessly. I've noticed I get this issue when I'm getting texts or calls. I don't know if it bugs out and activates in my pocket or perhaps the touch screen becomes active. After I wipe cache it usually doesn't do it for a long time. I've encountered this issue on several phones. Evo 3d, GS 1, and my GSII

Only app running constantly is Facebook (as usual for me) but that hasn't caused a problem before. I'm running are you jelling ROM for sprint, with whatever the stock kernel is... I usually use Franco but haven't installed it since I update the ROM.
I'm calibrating now
And I will wipe the cache as soon as I get done with this post

Which cache's are you referring too?

System cache from the main screen in cwm

No clue what's going on all if a sudden... my phone is heating up within seconds of turning the screen on and I lose 10% in 10 minutes... wtf. Think my phone is defective :-(

Try reflash your phone with stock/custom rom with format data and cache

Well is that 10% the like 100%-90%? I think I lose the first 15% the quickest. What's your total battery life?

FF02 Battery life?

I'm getting horrible battery life. Did a clean flash of ff02 right after it was leaked. 100% to 4% in 4hrs25mins. Anybody else getting this? I use it pretty heavily but it's still under 3hrs screen on with brightness at minimum.

Using data uses a lot of battery too. How much data were you using when this happened? If you turn airplane mode on you'll likely get 6 hours of screen time.
Also, try removing bloatware. There's like 6 sns apps running in the background.
You don't by chance use the official Facebook app do you? That can get into a state where it will never allow the phone to sleep and will be constantly using %25 cpu.

which ones did you remove?
ko's tweaks
not sure what rom ur running..but if its compatible with kobridge's batt tweaks, u should def check it out. I jumped on ff02 on venum's boa rom with the sf tweak and battery life is awweessooome!! and super fast!
Airplane mode would defeat the purpose of having a phone wouldn't it. I do use the Facebook app. I uninstalled it and will see if that helps.

Alternatively, just hold down the home button and swipe it closed after you're done with it each time.

All of them. I don't use Facebook or hardly anything that syncs often but removing sns apps made my battery better. Unsure of what appd to uninstall? Flash Calks bare from converter.
Turns out it was a bad battery. I'm now getting close to 10hrs total with 4hrs screen on time

Did sprint replace it or did you buy a new one?

Any idea why this happens? Also phones keep restarting
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I don't have a clear idea but I assume that the battery counter on your phone is wrong in comparison to the actual battery % so what I did was turn off my phone and remove the battery for a few seconds and then put it back in and turn on my phone, it usually shows that my battery is lower than what the counter said.
So you mean I have to re calibrate my battery?

Yea thats probably what I meant.
Is it me or just the rom? Re calibrated, but still going down fast. What do you all use to re calibrate your battery

I pull my battery out and leave it for a few seconds but first off I actually think its the ROM and not you, PaanoidAndroid for our phone drains quicker than CM9 so its expected also is this on standby or playing games and stuff?

Its probably the ROM your using that's causing the big battery drain.

I was using stock ROM until about 2 weeks ago. Then I installed CM9 and I noticed a huge difference in battery life. I tried ParanoidAndroid today and it's the same story here. I'd suppose that since it's based on CM9 it has the same flaws.
I read though, that some guys are using CWM patches to "improve" battery life. Worth looking into, if you're not considering going back to stock ROM.
Yeah... After a few days ago i'am using stock rom. And I got better battery life, rooted no cwm, voltage control & juice defender. I have about 12-16 hours.
Compare with custom rom before, I never get more than 10 hours battery life.
But stock rom have less animation than custom rom.

[Q] Battery drain during night hours

Last night I had a weird battery drain for the first time... it went down from 100% to 76% in 8 hours of sleep... looks like the call app is the reason... I'm on stock without root.

Reboot the phone in recovery, clear caches and reboot. That should solve it mate.

No, the screen was off all nighty but the phone was awake most of it.
Do you use Perseus kernel ? Same happened to me a couple time while using it.
I got it too this night. Had 48% when I went to bed, 7 hours later battery dropped to 19%. First time I get that, and also the phone app that's been eating the juice. My device is not modded at all.

Android OS battery drain CM10

While sleeping my phone was connected to WiFi and not touched for 7 hours or so, but my Android OS says it was awake the entire time. I'm new to CM10, but on TW my biggest battery drain was screen and cell standby. Any ideas?

I had the same issue then I realized that for some reason my proximity sensor was not turning off when I turned the screen off which may have had something to do with my phone not sleeping...I reset my phone and the sensor turned off and overnight I lost 3% battery.

I am on cm10 but all I had to do was reset the device and the sensor would be off once it rebooted...battery life still isn't quite as good as stock just yet but I can easily get through the day on one charge with about 4hrs of screen time...where did you find cm10.1 for our device?

Media server battery drain issue

I have searched a few times for a resolution to this problem, but have been unable to find one that works. I have noticed that when the media server shows up under my battery stats screen I usually have an update waiting on play store.
Is there any way play store could be the cause?
In other posts I see people complaining of 10-20% battery consumption. Mine has hit up to ~70% battery consumption.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I'm running 4.3 stock firmware non rooted.

Turn your data off when you're not using it. But most likely it's an app causing a wakelock.

Ok this may be a dead question, but something I would like to add. For the past two days I have not seen the media server in my battery stats. This is a shot of what I saw this evening. Which this is what I think my battery page should look like. I have not made any changes that would explain why it's not showing up. Any ideas or comments appreciated.

Not today, not sure about yesterday. This is not the only time it has not shown up for a few days. I also have not had any app updates. I think it's like bilgerryan stated that something is causing a wake lock but I close out apps when I finish. And usually use avg task killer to kill most running tasks.
