Yes the source code has been released. Agat63 post and Chris41g has fixed the released version of the kernel. which is now safe to flash ICS to ICS. but its only for TW roms. They sould be starting today. here is the link for the safe ICS kernel.
link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767421

Nobody can tell you for sure when the OTAs start until they get one. And even if someone else receives one that is no guarantee that yours will be available. They sometimes roll them out on different schedules.

Very true. On my epic 4g (not touch) it took two weeks after the kernel update relase for me to get it.

How do we know the kernel is safe though?

Chris41g disabled the eMMC erase all instructions. Which was causing the bricks before. But i beleive the samsung offical kernel still has the bug in it. the kernel AGAT v0.1.0 with tREC v0.2.1 has the fix in it.

Unless you have built the kernel from source yourself and seen that it's disabled you don't know for sure. You'll just have to trust the developers that say it is.

Pretty nice, cant wait for epic 4g touch variant.
Wow, that looks slick.
Btw, it's awesome that Codeworkx could make a demo video of a non-public Rom without using "Let the Bodies Hit The Floor" or "Soar" as the background music, as is much too commonplace these days. Awesome track.

Early build of CM9, seems reasonable that they haven't changed all the branding yet.
I wonder if they'll beat the official GSII ICS release from Samsung? They've got 100 days (or less).

They're pretty far along, its my understanding the only main issue now is the ril is unstable, but its also unstable in Samsungs beta leak.

Very cool. I don't think we'll be getting CM9 anytime sooner than Sammy's ICS update. (I hope I'm wrong ) The kernel they release will have a lot of the drivers necessary to get the ICS kernel up and running. I know the phones are pretty similar but there a re a few differences.
Are we even certain that CM9 is coming to our phone due to the 911 bug? Since the bug is in Bubby's CM7 Rom as well as T.C.P's MIUI Rom I am guessing our phone will have the same issue as the other Sammy phone they dropped support for...

Samsung SHV-E110S Galaxy S II LTE (ICS) SOURCE

From what I can see this phone is identical to ours. It's the Korean sgs2 lte and has source code released for ICS on the Samsung open source center.
Could someone maybe confirm this to be true or tell me why I'm dumb.

You might want to release this in the Skyrocket Forum as well, mate--unless you already have.
Those chaps have the LTE SII.
Will do.

Ok there is a diference between AOSP Source Code (Straight from Google) And Linux Kernel Source for a specific device (From Samsung) Samsung has not released kernel source for ICS yet.
And no just because google release jelly bean source does not mean we get automatic stability. The Aosp ROM Source has to be compiled and merged with ET4G Libs, Etc, and Kernel. Without kernel source getting jelly bean 100% Stable will be a challenge. But Not impossible.

Aosp source is not source for our phone, it will not contain the drivers, etc necessary to run on our device... look at ics, aosp source has been available for ages but we need source from Samsung for our specific device to have super stable fully functional ics roms
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Once we get ICS kernel source. Then the JB source drop will mean a little bit more. Mainly because maybe, just maybe the talented devs can patch up a source built ICS kernel enough to run JB on this phone without a **** ton of issues. If this happens then we can expect to see CM10 and the new AOKP once they drop and maybe some other goodies. What everyone needs to be hoping for though is ICS Kernel source and that the devs can patch that ***** enough to run JB. And please if any of the AOSP Devs see this as disinformation please correct me. I don't want to me giving out false info.
But even with all that said. It is still pretty exciting to see JB source drop. Hell I get happy anytime Google announces or releases a new build.

We have had the source to ICS since last year The source to an operating system does not allow it to run on anything other than its development device without further drivers and in the case of Android plenty of tweaking to kernel and other code. The AOSP source is just a base for manufacturers/developers to work with or if you have a Nexus device its often an easy base for rom development.
Either way it goes, looks like Netflix is already updated for JB. I wonder if that means all the other good Apps will optimize for non-flash support. I don't really care if we get it or not, since I am banking on changing phones early next year. If I don't get it, ok... but if we do, I would really be grateful.
Already on Chrome I have noticed a few news web sites that don't display correctly due to no Flash support. I hope in time Flash dies.
OP, it's AOSP not ASOP.
AOSP = Android Open Source Project
ASOP = Android Source Open Project???
But yes, good news indeed.

It's their 4th maintenance release for the phone.
I think it went EL26 -> EL29 -> FF18 -> FH13. were all OTAs

As long as the "core" apps are in place and all you did was root, according to the sfhubs threads with one clicks, you'll get the ota.
That being said - being rooted alone, people have failed at getting ota pushes.
If you really want ota, best bet is to go back stock and unless anyone can say different, that means going back to ek02..
(My 2 cents..)
