Samsung SHV-E110S Galaxy S II LTE (ICS) SOURCE - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

From what I can see this phone is identical to ours. It's the Korean sgs2 lte and has source code released for ICS on the Samsung open source center.
Could someone maybe confirm this to be true or tell me why I'm dumb.

You might want to release this in the Skyrocket Forum as well, mate--unless you already have.
Those chaps have the LTE SII.

Will do.

Looks like this is just a spec sheet for the actual phone. Source code would be on Samsungs open source website think he's just trying to confirm that this phone and the t989 are the same. Which to me looks like it besides the different radios

given that the tmo and telus ics updates are just a week away, and the source will be out the same day im told as well. i will wait for proper source. there are more differences in it then just the button code.

well our phone bee like the hd2

Well I guess he is saying. The time it would take to rework the source into a smooth kernel would be pointless. If source for our phone is actually released in 7 days. Makes sense.

Kernel developers

Why we don't have enough kernel devs like galaxy nexus or even evo 4g?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6
I don't believe that ICS kernel source has been released, so there is nothing to go by. GB kernels probably fell out of favor since most of us are probably on an ICS leak.

One of those 4 may help when we get source but that's all I say because its not for sure and I don't want different teams bombing his inbox with PMs to give it to them first for personal glory. I asked for help for all of us. Hopefully it will happen.
As far as development for this phone...very touchy subject. We do have some great devs. I don't exactly know how many could build a ROM from the ground up. I think its the limitations of the code that's available. You can click on a Google page to get all of the source code for their phones. GNex got CM9, Euroskank, Miui, etc in a week. It doesn't mean their devs are necessarily better but the pieces are there for them to use

Simple because our phones are not supposed to have ICS yet. The first ICS leak came FOR TMOBILE about 2 weeks ago until that time we were using AT&T so we now have a compatible version of ICS. The developers are great they made a OS from another phone work on ours, now that they have the correct structure for T-Mobile give them some time they have lives too ya know, Darkside has a good stable rom and constantly improving it. ICS is about 93% fully functional now on our phones, and remember roms cut much of the bloat out that we dont need, etc.otherwise buy a Nexus

Unfortunately it says the the report wasn't confirmed by Samsung, and it also says that its still gonna have to go through the carriers... dunno how att is because I'm new but I know vzw is a huge Hassel when it comes to pushing through any upgrades. Hopefully the code Samsung wrote form its handset gets leaked though because then we will have the capability to flash it without waiting for carrier approval.

Despite the fact that it's not really official (no Samsung confirmation) it's still good news. I doubt this would be an invented news, there's gotta be some truth behind it... now as for the carriers' part in this, that's another matter!

My theory is that the Jelly Bean leak since is actually a Sammy leak and is still being worked on by Tmobile and AT&T uses the almost the same kernel both d2 the devices. The new jelly bean leak has LTE settings in it meaning that you can set AT&T LTE/PTA APN settings and use 4G LTE in theory. Their are risk because the leak contains a new baseband, you can always reflash back to an older baseband though so this is not the biggest deal. The update does not include a new bootloader so no worries their. And you can always flash back to ICS. In my mind this may be worth fixing up a few files to see if it works. I'm going to give a try. I'll report back.
Looking forward to what you uncover drew

The system and everthing seems to copy over fine, it's the kernel that's giving me trouble right now. I'm going to work on it some more and see what I can find out, but by that time I'm sure an AT&T version will be out.
I'm still working on it and will continue.
What about using ktoon's or faux' JB kernel in the meantime?

JB/Key Lime Pie

Once Jellybean is released, I wonder how long it will take before Key Lime Pie to be released. Jellybean has great features and wanting to know what features KLP has to offer. KLP might be android 4.2 or 5.0.

Is it really going to call key lime pie? (source?) anyways it just depends on what features it offers my gs3 is stock at the moment only cause I really need a reliable device and flashing ain't my cup of tea at the moment (I used to be a flashaholic) but I got a nexus and I can't wait for jb to come to the gs3 later on this month, the notification part is the most wanted feature and gofle now

It's too early to talk Key Lime Pie (Android 5.0), the norm for upgrades on Android phones has always been 1 major upgrade and that's normally it. Considering Galaxy S III is a great device I highly doubt we will see Key Lime Pie and they will save it for Galaxy S IV (or whatever their next Flagship device will be called)

I agree. We dont even have "Official" Jelly Bean. Sure we have leaks but nothing official has been released other than the rollout to some internationals last week.
Let's be more concerned with a working JB and all the probable incrementals that come out afterwards (like ICS 4.0/4.0.3/4.0.4), than about leap-frogging onto the next OS.
