Kernel developers - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Why we don't have enough kernel devs like galaxy nexus or even evo 4g?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6

I don't believe that ICS kernel source has been released, so there is nothing to go by. GB kernels probably fell out of favor since most of us are probably on an ICS leak.

Ummmmmmmm Becuz those devs chose to go to those devices. and not this one.
What am I chopped liver??? Did you not see my repacked kernels???
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

because development for this phone sucks relative to other phones. Even the 3d had more people when I had it. Not saying that our devs suck, just that we don't have a lot of them.

<sarcasm> Ya darn it. All the freely given hard work given to us by them is just rediculous. </sarcasm> ;-p

Because the ones we do have are freaking spectacular, so we don't need any more.

We have AOKP, Codenam, Gummy, CM9, Sprint Leaks, MIUI, Slim, RubiX ROM, Calkulins ROM, Blazer Rom, Venums ROM, Rujelus22 Rom, MIJJz's ROM, Agat's ROM, Venum's ROM, etc......These have all been without source, which is freaking spectacular if you ask me. Please tell me how the development for this phones sucks. Wtf does the 3d have that we dont? I came here from that peice of crap phone. In fact, I turned down a swap for a gnex from a sprint employee because of the development on this phone.

One of those 4 may help when we get source but that's all I say because its not for sure and I don't want different teams bombing his inbox with PMs to give it to them first for personal glory. I asked for help for all of us. Hopefully it will happen.
As far as development for this phone...very touchy subject. We do have some great devs. I don't exactly know how many could build a ROM from the ground up. I think its the limitations of the code that's available. You can click on a Google page to get all of the source code for their phones. GNex got CM9, Euroskank, Miui, etc in a week. It doesn't mean their devs are necessarily better but the pieces are there for them to use
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2

Dev for e4gt has been nothing ahort of spectacular. We have so many Rom choices, once source is released devs with have a lot more to work with

All I can say is patience... It is a little dis heartening I will say though because it took the Vibrant nearly a year to get a stable version of CM7 on it.... But Koush is working on the EpTouch so all I can say is its only a matter of time and patience.
Gsm vs cdma with a wimax radio
Stop complaining and start developing if u in a rush.
Sent from my Galaxy S2
Wimax and cdma are both wildcards. Tmobile and att are gsm, so it is a lot easier to port from the international version.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
I didnt think the Tmobile version had CM support due to the Tmobile version having a different CPU than the rest of the bunch???
Tmobiles GS2 doesn't have either. They may have device support from those teams but so do we.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I didnt think they did.
AT&T's GS2 has both though. Wtf?!? Lol jk
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
LOL, if we had a DEV from CM that had this as a personal device we would be rockin CM7 already. Being that we dont and all of our CM support is being done in spare time by one CM DEV at a time, it will take longer than usual. Rather than having that ICS ROM bounty we should pitch buy a CM DEV a device for his/her personal phone, lithid for example

GSM =/= CDMA. Unfortunately.
If we get an ICS leak, then devs would probably be more willing to work on it from there. But Touchwiz ICS looks terrible. I'd make an AOSP theme for it if it looked like that upon release.
Omg, smh, wth,... Y r people still posting about devs porting ics. This is days in a row Aaaahhhhhhh b patient. close thread pls.

He is definately BEAST....but I give props to ALL DEVS who gave and those who have passed to new devices. They all deserve credit where credit is due. Without each dev putting their input, skills and hard work we would not have the best phone out at the moment.
You are right, he is a beast. He, by far, has built some of the best running roms for our phones. The only reason I am not running his rom at the moment is because I am a flashoholic and I am trying out AOKP. He is due for some props!

blazer has been the best combination of battery life and features for me. its based of calks (i think blend might be too), so it really just comes down to the features and sustained battery life.

Just a reminder to all, don't forget to use your thanks button! Let's make sure our devs (all of them) get the recognition they deserve on XDA!
I've seen one dev with over 9,000 thanks, let's get our dev's up there! haha
he's definitely my favorite dev and deserves as much support as possible. thanks calk!
I loved Calk's ROMS dating back to the Evo 4g. Good times.

I hope that the few people that could not hold his sack in regards to the work he does on our phones, did not piss him off yesterday with their negative comments?? Ignore the haters Caulk.
You don't even know what a hater is. It was probably 2-3 people who had slight issues with a ROM and voiced accordingly.
If you have been using his ICS leaks he for sure deserves a donation even if it's a couple bucks

Samsung SHV-E110S Galaxy S II LTE (ICS) SOURCE

From what I can see this phone is identical to ours. It's the Korean sgs2 lte and has source code released for ICS on the Samsung open source center.
Could someone maybe confirm this to be true or tell me why I'm dumb.

Looks like this is just a spec sheet for the actual phone. Source code would be on Samsungs open source website think he's just trying to confirm that this phone and the t989 are the same. Which to me looks like it besides the different radios
