HTC G2 T-Mobile stuck on HTC screen - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there,
a friend tried to upgrade my HTC G2 T-Mobile phone and in the process, something happened and the phone wont boot completely anymore. It gets stuck at the HTC screen and wont load any further.
I read a few articles which suggested that I download some PC10IMG.zip file onto my memory card and boot the phone by holding the volume key and pressing power which I did. upon booting, this is what appeared on the phone:

It actually gets stuck at the SYSTEM - Updating line forever.
Please, please and please again, someone help because I dont know jack about these stuff. I've been reading alot of stuff about ADB and Gingerbread and stuff, but I still dont get anything.
PLEASE HELP!

hopefully your ok, but you my want to log on to freenode for some real time help so you don't cause further damage. after the root process where you are is common as if you changed from ag2 hboot to a dz or whatever the system partition will change and it won't boot. all you would do at this point is flash a rom via recovery. but if you flash that pc10img then you may have restored the factory recovery and this may be more difficult.
so log onto freenode now so you can get some quick help

Thanks demkantor, haven't really used freenode before but will try. Thanks once again.

By the way it's possible that your phone is not True S-OFF, also you're using a SHIP hboot instead of an engineering, which might not let you update the partitions etc. I don't know much details on it but I'm using an engineering hboot as provided by the cyanogenmod unlocking/rooting guide.

[Q] Unroot - I can't get stock Hboot

Hello, I want to unroot my Desire because of warranty. When I flashed official RUU my phone still says AlphaRev Hboot and S-OFF. I don't know what should I do. I searched this forum but no results helped me...
Bootloader says this:
AlphaRev
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11

[2] RADIO_V2 - OK
[3] RADIO_CUST - OK
[4] BOOT - OK
[5] RECOVERY - OK
[6] SYSTEM - OK
[7] USERDATA - OK
[8] SPLASH1 - OK
Partition update fail!
Update Fail!
Thanks
EDIT: [6] System not failed but system is OK
....
in their newest releases, alpharev made hboot write-protected, so that users could restore to stock (to get any rom up and running for example) but not loose custom hboot S-OFF.
in order to go back to stock S-ON hboot, go to www.alpharev.nl and download BravoDowngrader.
flash it using fastboot and then run the RUU.exe
Ohhh, thank you so much! I don't know about Hboot locking. So, my problem is solved!

Okay.. So i am assuming now you want to flash a ROM.. Right.?
And having trouble doing that.?
I see you have S-Off.. Do you have a custom recovery.? Like CWM or 4EXT.?
You'll need that to flash.

Ok.. Now i'm totally confused as to what is it that is confusing you.
That guide is the easiest one..With the steps explained in very detail.
Beleive me, it cannot get easier than that.
If you are still confused, tell what problem you have, instead on simply saying i'm confused, or i'm having problems.
Put out the exact problem. What you tried, what happened. Everything.

Is your phone rooted and S-Off ?
If yes, then instead of using a RUU, download a ROM in flashable zip format, and flash it using the method described in the above mentioned post.
If you dont have Root and S-Off, follow the rooting steps of the above mentioned guide, and then flash a ROM.

-power on the phone as if you were to use it normally, dont go into the bootloader
-make sure you have htc sync installed and all the drivers for your phone are installed (reboot your computer too)
-take out the sd card from the phone (you dont need it to do this process)
-plug the usb cord into your phone (which is connected to your pc)
-start the RUU on your pc and off you go.
let it do its thing, and then its done. go through setup on the phone once it boots up, and start using it again (and you can put your sd card back in as well).

Help Needed Re: Unrooting

I need help lads.
My Desire is suffering from the rebooting problem, so I thought I'd get it back to stock condition and get it fixed before the warranty runs out.
Ok, I need to unroot and restore the stock ROM on my HTC Desire.
I'm using an RUU from Shipped ROMs.It works fine until it gets to the radio part. The radio part is what is failing for some reason.
I get a message saying the radio part fails, but it's the same radio that is currently on my phone.
After I get the message about it failing, I get this come up on the white screen of the HBoot menu when I unplug the device.
For reference, this is what I get after the failed attempt.

Just updated the first post with more information.
Is this fixable?
Can it be solved by sending it off to HTC? I am still within the two year warranty period.
Well if they replace whole motherboard in repair, broken radio doesn't matter. Propably it's a software problem and it will be overwritten. Of course if you want to try fixing the radio before getting it to recovery, you can root, s-off and try to flash another radio on fastboot.

[Q] Broken Desire?

I´m trying to restore my desire to factory RUU with RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed but get error.

As stated many times before:
Go to alpharev.nl and download the Bravo DOWNGRADER and flash it.
When it's done, then flash the RUU.
Ok.
I have downgrade.
Started flash RUU. Flashing have started and after 3 seconds the screen is total black.
I try to reboot but screen are still black..

how to solve this?
You got a radio brick = dead phone
They say you can try and run the RUU again and again because you might get lucky.
Check the troubleshooting guide on my sig to see if you have a chance of fixing it.
Otherwise you need to go to HTC.. or buy a new phone.
Maybe it's not too late. Like Stankyou said try to flash RUU again, and if doesn't work try to get s-off with revolutionary cause you can still enter bootloader. Then flash radio from fastboot.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
revolutionary doesn't work in this case... It needs a running system...
try couple of times ruu if no worky try freezer trick too, unfortunately you need to send it to htc
