Monoprice - Galaxy S III Accessories

Has anyone tried the new cases from Monoprice.com? They generally have good quality products for a good price so was hoping to hear some reviews on their S3 cases.

Monoprice is working on 11pin MHL cables? Nice! I love monoprice for cables.

I'm waiting for their MHL cables as well... No one can beat their prices for cables and I have yet to have any of them fail on me.

is that it ?

That's the 5 pin cable. I actually just got one, and am now waiting for the 5 to 11 pin adapter to arrive. They've finally started popping up on amazon and ebay.

Monoprice is awesome. I use them for tons of stuff and their support is 2nd to none. If you end up not liking it they will refund your money and sometimes let you keep the product anyways.

Sorry for the late reply. The Monoprice tpu cases are thin.. the cutouts are great.
They just don't compare to diztronic tpu. If you have any other questions ask anytime.

Hybrid TPU
Just got the hybrid hard plastic/TPU case from monoprice. The hard back is charcoal gray that is semi transparent. I can barely make out the Galaxy S III logo through the case. The edge is all black TPU, the cut outs for everything is just about perfect. I don't like that the power button and volume rocker are covered. I like to feel the actual buttons click, but they still function fine. Overall, pretty dang good for the price. :good:

I bought both the Aircase Aluminum + Polycarbonate Case for Samsung Galaxy SIII - Black and the TPU Case for Samsung Galaxy SIII -White.
The aluminum/polycarb case is very high quality and fits perfectly. It looks very similar to the Casemate Barely There Aluminum and regular price is under $6. My only complaint is that its a bit slippery on the sides.
The TPU case is exactly as advertised - cut perfectly for the phone and fits well. Under $4.

ok so we'll need monoprice's 11pin to 5 pin adapter + this http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...d=1083314&p_id=8675&seq=1&format=1#largeimage for it to work on HDTV?

You were on the right track. The 2nd Samsung item alone works with our phone (Galaxy S3). You only need the adapter (5 to 11 pin) when you're using the older, cheaper 5 pin MHL cables.
So you can either use the monoprice 11 to 5 pin adapter + the monoprice MHL, or you can use the one expensive Samsung cable.
To date - I'm using an MHL cable that I bought for $6 from EBAY many months ago, with a $10 5 to 11 pin Samsung adapter that I bought from Amazon. Works great, but I'm curious to see the monoprice prices for the 11 pin stuff.

HDMI charger dock $20 shipped.

This appears to be an OEM version of the official HDMI charging dock. Doesn't come with cables. Uses a standard HDMI cable. Beats the $45 retail price. Perfect timing for full HDMI capabilities.
http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-HDMI-Dock-C...285843093QQcategoryZ20336QQvarZQQcmdZViewItem
EDIT: Looks like the seller jacked the price up by $5. But there's still the option to make an offer. Some have mentioned getting it as low as $15. When I first posted this and ordered mine, best offer was not an option.
EDIT: Now up to $40 You can still try to make an offer. According to others he has accepted as low as $15.
Bought one of those a few weeks ago - doesn't include the micro-USB or micro-HDMI cable but it's an awesome dock. (Monoprice.com has the cables for a few bucks)
Big recommendation for this dock.
$20? Dock? HDMI? SOLD!

No, it specifically says it won't in the auction description.
Nice find! Ordering mine now.
Great find, thank you.
I got this in the mail today. It's definitely the HTC brand. Very high quality. It rests in the dock very snug. You can operate the touchscreen with one finger easily without pushing it over.
Sweet deal, just ordered one.
Just got this for $15 through best offer. Have not even received my Evo and ordering accessories already.
Anyone know though if the phone fits in this with a case like the Innocase or Barely-There case?

No, I really don't think any case will. There is absolutely no extra space in the cut-out for the phone when it is in the dock.
Not a bad price at all. I already have a dock for charging, and I have an HDMI cable for watching movies. I just dont see the benefit of this. I'll just keep my phone laying on its back while I'm watching movies instead of sitting in this dock.... and spend my $20 elsewhere
I'd be all over it if it fit with the platinum case. Don't see the point in removing the case just to dock.
thank you for the tip
Picked one of these up. It works for me because I have a bunch of cables hanging in front of my PC. Have the micro usb hooked to the PC for transferring files, a micro usb plugged into an outlet for faster charging, my micro hdmi cable to hook into my monitor and a mini usb for a camera. This dock eliminates two hanging wires and replaces them with a pretty cool dock =P
just got mine in the mail, perfect condition... and it is HTC oem... its great!!! need pics anyone?

Excellent cheap sync cradle for the T-989

I got 2 of these off eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SAMSUNG...159056?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f0f089010
They are meant for the "standard" (AT&T or International) GS2's but it fits my new T-989 perfectly even with the DIZTRONIC TPU case on it. It probably fits most any device with a bottom micro-usb port on it. It comes with a removable rubber adapter for smaller devices. Not bad for $11 from China. Got it in about 10 days. It's a knockoff of the iPhone Universal base. No audio out ports. Just sync/charge.
i purchased the Original from Samsung only $40, and it comes with extra 1850 mAh original battery with NFC

Ok, but that is $29 more than $11 and most people don't need a $29 battery and NFC is useless for the most part. Plus it doesn't work with a case. Other than that, GOOD DEAL!!

Can you post pics of your T-989 w/ TPU case in the dock?
Do you know if the USB transmits audio and if it has a back 3.55mm jack?
I ordered two of the Sinjimoru Sync stands. They're cool looking and lightweight. I removed the two lock tabs on the cable that make the cable stick in tighter. I'm planning on mounting them to something that won't lift up easily when I try to remove the phone. Overall, worth the $22.

The stand you are linking to doesn't charge or sync. That stand is just a holder with no connection directly to the phone. 2 totally different things with totally different purposes.

It fits my T989 with the Diztronics case no problem and will fit any similar "thinness" case. Snug, but no problem. I looked at the D30 case the other day and put them up against each other and while the left to right size are identical the front to back on the D30 is a bit more and my guess is it wouldn't fit. I was surprised when my Diztronic case fit but it did NOT need to be forced, just a slight push. For $11 you really can't go too wrong.

thanks I ordered one
They are still tight on the base, and would tip over if you pushed them. They're fairly stable, but it is kind of a pain to use one hand to hold the base grab the phone.
I did fix that today. I went out into the alley behind the loft and grabbed a brick. A few minutes after meeting the dremel and a little bit of epoxy, they're stable.
http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6233/6366960059_565143ef63_b.jpg
That's what the stands look like mounted to the brick, and in the Body Glove Diamond cases. I did play a little with some LEDs and lighting the bases up, since they're clear/black acrylic and the light travels through them. I'm going to hold off on that for now, but maybe soon.
to choking am a bit confuse on ur pic is that just a stand whit out the option of charging or a stand whit charger?
There is a cable that comes up behind the stand, and snaps into the stand. It charges, and I bet you could use the stand for other phones, but I can't guarantee that. I know it works fine with the T989.
Well thx for ur response ill see if i get my hands on one this on up coming week

For a temp case it's bang on. Fits fine. Not too ugly. Dead cheap. £1.89 total price paid, shipped same day in a plain small jiffy bag.
Don't think there are any premium options at this stage either. The Casemate gear advertised on MobileFun and Expansys isn't in yet.
Now about an official charging dock and car mount...

I am using exactly the sam case, it seems to be of decent enough quality. All the right holes in right places and right size. Like you say it fits absolutely perfect. I particuly like the bits over the power and volume buttons and the texture for extra grip. This case is an absolute bargain costing me less than £2

why are all these cases making access holes for the dock connectors, when if you have a case on your phone, it will no longer sit in the dock?
I got this case in the post today and it fits perfectly.
Not too shabby for a temp case. Definately makes the phone easier to hold. Doesnt feel like its gonna slip out my hand anymore!
Think I am going to have to get a few.
Another positive experience here. Mine arrived today. Phone feels so much more solid in the hand. Thanks for the tip.

I guess there could be third-party docks that can fit the GN with a case on. Just need to make the fit loose enough and have long pogo pins.
Ive got the same case too and can confirm its a great fit and will do me until a proper good case comes out.

Cheap desktop dock from ebay is junk

I bought this dock http://www.ebay.com/itm/Desktop-Doc...293200?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27c97f6250
I think it a generic dock designed to fit as many devices as possible. The shape of the dock doesn't match the phone. Without the case the phone is held just by the USB connector. With a case it is supported only from the back. The slot in the dock would work for a device at least 1/2" (12mm) thick. The bed of the slot is flat and GSIII bottom is curved, so the phone is wobbly. Basically, this dock is a ripped USB port waiting to happen. The rear connector for an USB cable is so deep in the case that cable falls off.
The dock is very cheap, now you know why.
Well its cheap for a reason.

+1, all you have to do is make a back support for the phone with some 1/16" aluminum sheet or something. I've done that to a number of iPhone docks in the past and it works perfectly.

Too expensive for me. Plus, it wont ship to my country
OP, what do you consider to be GOOD and NOT EXPENSIVE? Shipping abroad to what country - international shipping is not always easy, sorry ! Obviously, nobody is recommending a set of Bose NC for you - I do have a pair of Sennheiser myself & it's great - as headset only, it fits with the slim plug adapter.
There are eBay specials from LG for $10 USD or less - you might be able to find them locally at your location.
I used AirBuds - got a pair with free shipping for under $30 - the washable foam fit universally and excellent - here's link & they are on FB (watch for Black Friday/cyber Monday specials) - it fits in the Spigen Hybrid Ultra Slim black bumper case for the N5.
