i currently work for sprint and we just received our evo demo today. we also were informed of the accessories that we would have on launch day. we will have the bodyglove case, silicone cases in red and black, mini HDMI cable for 19.99 and the HDMI dock for $39.99. hopefully this info wasnt already in this forum. i looked but i believe im the first to post about the HDMI dock pricing. to me 39.99 isnt bad for the dock, what do you think???
When will we see the car dock?
unfortunately it just says coming soon
Thanks op...
wondering if radio shack will get those silicone body glove cases..

not at launch day at least...
Do anybody know if the car dock would allow you to place the Evo on it without removing the case? That's going to be the deciding factor for me. I really don't feel like removing the case every time I place it on the dock. If I do, I will just buy a universal dock instead.
Is there a Marketplace forum for me to list my accessories for sale or can I do it here? I was looking forward to this phone so much that I bought my accessories before I bought the phone. But between the Atrix's locked bootloader and AT&T's foolishness, I'll probably never own the thing.
I have a Otterbox Commuter case and a genuine Motorola car charger both new in box to sell. And when I say new in the box I literally mean that I haven't even opened the box that they were shipped to me in. The case was purchased directly from Otterbox and the charger from Amazon.
You might as well keep the car charger; any phone you are likely to get will use microusb. Plus, that is a good one and they are cheap as dirt.
Yeah, not to be a buzz kill, but genuine chargers are on Amazon for $4ish. Probably not worth the shipping...
Yeah, I agree about the charger. I am really looking to get something back for the $30 case I bought and never used.
Now would be the time to pick up a standard dock for those that have held out because of the price. I just got one from BestBuy for $24.99 (+tax of course). The sale lasts until the 17th. It's online and in stores.
Motorola - Dock for Motorola XOOM Tablets
I've been thinking about this all day but would much rather have the HD speaker dock. Ill have to think about this all week since its on sale- no rush to have a dock charger unless it was the HD speaker dock.
I purchased at this price 2 months ago. Could someone link the thread on modding the dock to include the USB port?

Also some decent price drops on Xoom accessories at Best Buy UK
This appears to likely only fit an un-cased Xoom. Are there any docks out there that work with something like the otterbox?

It has plate that you can change that will work with some cases. I've got a thinner one that works fine on it. It looks like it 'raises' the little platform with the plugs on it by about 1-2mm, so if your case is thicker, it won't work.
best buy in canada has the speaker docks at 64.99 and the standard docks at 29.99
Hey guys if you buy this you can mod it to have USB connectivity. Here's a link to the DIY:

It looks like this sale is still going on at their website.
Add the dock to your cart and you'll see it for 24.99 USD.
Just bought one for in-store pickup.

Picked mine up today for $24 then saw this post. I plan on putting mine on the mantle wired to my home theater receiver for slacker radio.
Ordered mine... should be at the store for pick up tomorrow!!!
Ok ... So after much searching, and not being happy with what I found out there, I finally came up with a solution to a dock that works with the TPU case I have for my E4GT ... Photos attached. The links below are to the case I have, and the dock I bought.
The only thing extra I had to do was take a dremel and widen the sides a bit, took me about 5 min to do each dock( did 3, all working fine ). Let me know what you think, could be a solution for those out there with this popular case and want a working dock that both charges and syncs
I may clean it up a bit, right now my only gripe, and it's a small one, is the phone sits a little to "straight up", which I'm sure could be fixed with a little more dremel work, but for 5 min and $11 it's a good solution in my eyes
TPU Case
Dock off Ebay
How much wiggle room ya got? I've got a Casemate on mine, which adds substantially more bulk than your TPU seems to add.

Yea, that probably wont work for you then ... I can take as much as I need off the back, can take about 1/8" more off each side, but the bottom is pretty tight...
Thanks RubenRybnik, i bought the this cradle off ebay, from your recommendation, for my Sprint ET4G with an extended battery (3800 mah)...works great! I have no TPU case...just the extended battery and back cover. The seller shipped it fast from Korea...product only comes with the dock only-no usb cable or ac adapter. No problem for me since I have many micro usb cables around. He lowered the price to $10.90 (i paid $11.30)...

Or you can just get the Verizon SGS-3 backplate with capacitive charging built in, an Energizer charging station for $20 on Amazon, and enjoy the rest of the day. :good:

Yes, if you want to spend $40 on the back, and another $47 on the Energizer charging station, and have a phone that is thicker and heavier. That's a very good solution to save five or ten minutes! That's assuming you can even find one!

Couldn't you do these mods and sell them for profit?
I'd rather pay an extra 20-30 bucks on top all other costs than do it myself. Though it would have to be a solid build, not something put together with a car kit.

I could, but it's not worth it to me, and it's really pretty easy (and fun). Also, the battery cover is not so cheap, so by the time you added up all costs, and made a decent profit, the kit would cost $50-$60! (And people are doing it on Ebay already!)

Car kit was meant to be duct tape. I have no idea what I was thinking about at the moment.
But yeah. I'll check ebay and probably buy one if it was that cheap (relatively speaking - 90 bucks from verizon and it looks like ass).

thats what I bought (or one like it same pictures same price)
Grr its from china of course Grrr have to wait. already got the touch stone. MAN that is an insanely tiny cavity the stinking usb cable has to fit in. samsung charger cables should fit fine though they are nice and skinny.
I will report back with results once I get it AND report just how "thick" a case will work with the touch stone. I don't care if the magnet holds or not (I will design a holder around it) just need it to charge through my hybrid case. fingers crossed
A few fine points

a couple of points:
1. The Samsung cable and charger probably WON'T work. The Touchstone is very picky about chargers and cables, I suggest just buying the Touchstone charger, they are about $4. See the link in my main post.
2. It works fine with my Rock Case, and also with a thicker TPU case. It may not work through a very thick hybrid case, although some have cut a hole in the inner silicone over the charging coil, and gotten it to work.
Let us know how it goes.
interesting. I have actually "stocked" up on oem samsung cables because they have proven SO reliable in working with "everything" same with KINDLE cables (but they cost 2.5 times as much but are VERY nice cables)
I won't use the stock charger I have 2amp chargers I use for all my usb stuff.
I will check the link for the OEM cable $4 is well worth it. I ordered a few cheap touch stones but ones that come with cables are MUCH more expensive
I will try it and see what happens. sadly between case and wireless charging case is more important to me (expensive phone) so fingers crossed
maybe I can "make do" with a thinner but still protective case most of the time and just use the hybrid when I am getting into "rough" activities we shall see.
while it won't work with my HYBRID cases that I use it will work with an otterbox. I could put the coil under the poly carb layer of the OTTER BOX case (I don't have an otter yet so not 100% sure of this) and then run that to contacts on the cover and THEN run contacts inside the cover to the phones contacts. that would move the coil right to thin case distance from the touch stone.
we shall see.

I contacted the seller and he confirmed, NFC does not work with the wireless charger cover.
I will be very angry if that is true I specifically asked him to test nfc with wireless back andhe said he physically tested it and confirmed nfc still works fine

It should work fine, although you may have to wave the upper part of the back of your phone over the NFC tag, as the coil may block the lower part of the phone.
That's why I revised my instructions for my mod to move the coil lower on the phone, so that NFC would be less finicky.

Wow, no need to be a jerk. Some people don't want to lose NFC or compass. Also, some people would rather not tamper with their phones.
By the way, its not $40 and $47, its $20 for the back and $20 for the palm charger.
Sent from my Sprint SGS3
I got back cover from ebay for $29.99 + $5 for palm touchstone. My Galaxy s2 charger works perfectly for touchstone. If not, you can buy it for $4. Not bad for $35 - $40.

I wasn't being a jerk, but simply correcting your misinformation. NFC is not lost at all, nor is the compass function if you use the original Palm metal disks. And the cost of the Verizon back is $39 not $20. (See the link below.) Also, it is very hard to find, and isn't in stock online. Amazon lists the Energizer Qi for $47 unless you buy it from a dubious seller. By my math that's $86 total for a mod that costs less than $20 if you do it yourself. I completely understand your last point, which is that some people don't like DIY solutions, and if that's true, then it makes sense to go your way. Or if you have two SG3's, and want to use the same Qi pad.

How does the Ebay cover work? Do the pins line up well?

Pins lined up well. However after putting the cover on, I noticed that the back of the phone is not flat. It has a slight curve in the middle which you can notice when you put the phone on a flat surface and it wobbles.
I also have a slight gap between phone and cover (on right hand side only). Because of the added mass of the charging circuit, the cover does not sit flush with phone. This doesn't bother me though as you'll only notice it if you look for it.
