Need Stock ROM Nandroid - HTC One X

Hello community,
I have a little Problem regarding my One X. The device has the known WiFi Problem and therefore it has to be sent to HTC to be repaired.
I have unlocked my phone and have flashed a custom ROM. Now I have to flash the Stock ROM before sending my device to HTC.
The problem is that there isn't a RUU which makes this possible. The reason is that the HBoot is based in the newest Vodafone Germany Update (Rom 1.29, Hboot 0.95), which can't be downgraded. Ther e are only RUUs for 1.26 and 1.28, not for 1.29.
Therefore I should restore a corresponding nandroid. Thats another problem, I don't have my nandroid backup anymore.
If I missunderstood something, please let know.
Is there another way to go back to the stock Rom or can somebody provide me a corresponding nandroid?
CID: VODAP102
Vodafone Germany
Base 1.29
Thanks in advance.

You'll find a flashable stock ROM (rooted and unrooted both) in the Development Section.

Revert to stock question

Hi all,
Need to revert my phone back to stock 2.1, do you just download the stock rom and flash??
What's the difference between then signed and unsigned versions?
I don't have a goldcard, never made one, is that a problem. I am currently running clockwork mod with oxygen. I have not s-off'd the phone.
Any info would be great as I have to return it to three to cancel my contract.
Cheers

Do you know what ROM was originally on the phone? This should be the first thing anyone does before rooting so you can go back if you need to
H3G android 2.1. That's all I know.
Any ideas?

Found an old post I made with some details about the original rom,
Radio 32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09
Hboot 0.83.0001
Rom Stock 2.1 Update 1
I cant find this rom to flash back to stock, can only find the two H3G roms on the sticky.
Anyone got any ideas on this, need some help fast please.
Cheers
Blinky
did you keep the backup from when you first rooted your phone?
I did, but the sd card failed and I lost everything. Can I flash either of the stock roms or will one of them, or both, kill the phone?
If you are on 3 UK then you could use the newest 3 ROM from shipped-roms.com
Thats it? No need to use a goldcard (the one I dont have) just run the exe and it'll flash the rom, radio and be back to stock again?
Cheers

[Q] How to backup radio in stock rom?

Hi,
I have rooted my wildfire and installed some roms.. now with my current animos-sense rom i couldnot get my network signal properly.
Can i backup the radio from my stock rom so that i will flash it afer installing custom rom?
If you are using a standard GSM HTC Wildfire, you can get the Radios from here, since they are common for all GSM Wildfire's across the globe.

No. Custom roms won't touch the radio and hboot.
Only stock roms (= RUU or OTA) will overwrite them.
Also you can update radio from recovery or from S-OFF hboot if needed.

Is the RUU necessary when just flashing custom ROMs?

Hi there,
I completely understand how flashing custom ROMs works and the like, however I'm not too familiar with HTC devices so I'm not entirely sure how important RUUs are.
My girlfriend owns an unlocked One X (CID: HTC_102, 1.29.401.11 (WWE)). If I were to flash Android Revolution HD 8.1, it would technically be following the X.XX.401.XX update tree, right? If we were to keep her One X updated along with ARHD, would we need to worry about flashing RUUs? I think most people use the RUUs to update things like their baseband version, kernel and boot image - but if the custom ROM is taking care of things like the kernel and boot image, couldn't I just flash the updated basebands? I've been trying to Google my answers, but I'm really coming up with nothing.
It's always best to have a ruu handy incase you need to go back to near stock, or something messes up and a ruus the only way of sorting it

So basically the RUU is a way of restoring to stock if you, for some reason, do not have a Nandroid backup?
Yes. If you can't get one then proceed at your own risk
For the most part you will never need an ruu.
It returns the device completely to stock.
It differs from custom ROMs because it also flashes the protected partitions like Hboot
It is also the only way to get your phone to load after relocking your boot loader (for warranty purposes)
Better chance of been fixed if you send it back as stock as possible

Ah, so if I keep the RUU for the current stock ROM I have now on hand (I believe I've found it in the Endeavor Shipped ROM Collection thread) for a 'just in case' situation, I should be all good? Sure is handy that the CID matches the WWE RUUs, they're easy to find.
Thanks for your help, guys.

[Q] HTC One x correct RUU

Anyone knows how to identify the correct RUU for my HTC One X, I need to put my phone to Stock and theres a lot of RUU available. I purchase my phone in Philippines. Thanks

bogfather, thanks for the info. I was also searching for this kind of info, as my HOX is rooted and has a custom ROM in it (RENOVATE 3), which works like a charm.
I wanted to have as a backup solution option to return to stock eventually. Read so many threads on XDA, but still not entirely sure about the process (total n o o b).
cidgetter in the top of the screen says: [CID is: ]: [VODAP102]. I guess it was Vodaphone branded phone, so somebody rooted it to get rid of the Vodaphone stuff.
Question - if I want to get back to stock, do I have to use Vodaphone ROM, or I can use any stock ROM?
Cheers!
I saw his other post. He is on custom rom and doesn't have an original backup of stock rom, neither does he know the original rom version.
EDIT CIDGetter doesn't return anything on my cm10 rom. Use "fastboot oem readcid" from your PC while the phone is in fastboot USB mode.
EDIT2: @bogfather I seem to be dropping in uninvited. I hope you dont mind.

Are you referring to Toto, or me, 'cause you exactly described my case - custom ROM, without original backup of stock ROM, not knowing the original ROM version.
What are the options in case I decide to revert to some (not Vodaphone) stock ROM?

I was referring to toto. AFAIK (and someone correct me if I am wrong), you have to return to VODA102 if you decide to go back to stock. RUU's read info from the bootloader, such as hboot version, cid etc. and do some checks before they proceed with installation. Unless you disable those checks in the RUU script itself, other RUUs will probably not flash.
Your other options would be installing ARHD, or maXimus ROM since they are the closest to stock there is. There is also a deodexed stock rom by showp under android dev section.
I see.
Thanks for the explanation, mate!

NP. One more thing before you attempt to flash an RUU: You have to install a stock recovery first.

Eyosens right about the ruu, you would have to use a ruu with that cid until s-off is achieved

It will work if the ruu you have is the same software version or higher than what you was on before you flashed the jb rom.

I'm in the same position... My HOX TIM IT branded has a 1.29.901.11 RUU (I think... I saw this under Software information) but I can't find it anywhere! The question is the following: If I will flash a custom ROM, like viperX, that has a higher RUU then mine, when I need to go stock, for example for the warranty, I need the stock RUU with the stock ROM, or just the stock ROM with any RUU?

The 1.29.901.11 is your software version, a ruu is the full stock Rom as if HTC were loading your phone for the first time.
Flashing a custom Rom doesn't change what ruu you will need to revert to stock, just look for a ruu with the same or higher version than what your stock software version is. Unless you have a s-off one x you will need a ruu with 901 in it (that's your cid).

Oh, thanks mate! But atm, I can't find it anywhere, even here in the forum... What can I do? My only worry is reverting it to its actual status, so I need to find this RUU, after that I'll be quieter and I'll flash the viperX ROM... Can you help me?
Bear with me, I'll have a look

But is there another way to be sure that I can revert my HOX to its stock status? For example, if I flash the viperX rom, that has 2.17.401.2, will I be able to re-flash my stock ROM, previously backuped, with that RUU?

i cant find that ruu either, if you ask in this thread someone might be able to find it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543604
if you do a nandroid backup after flashing a custom recovery (but before rooting) you could always revert to that to get back to stock rom, but then you would need to find the stock recovery as well to help claim on warranty.
it doesn't matter what software version the custom rom is, you say your on 1.29.901.11 now so thats the only version that matters. you can downgrade from a custom rom as long as your not trying to downgrade lower than what your stock software is now

Atm, I can't post in that section, later I'll do it!
So, for having a backup of my actual ROM, I need to flash a custom recovery BEFORE doing the root hack, right? The process will be "Unlock Bootloader -> Flash a custom recovery -> Nandroid Backup -> Root -> Flash a custom ROM", right?
For the downgrade to the stock firm, I'll need the stock recovery and the stock ROM, that I previously backuped?

thats right, but you only have to root if your sticking on stock rom but want root access, if you flash a custom rom they come pre-rooted.
so it will be
1 unlock bootloader
2 flash custom recovery
3 nandroid back up
4 flash custom rom (but remember to flash the boot.img from the rom in fastboot first)

Ok, now this part is ok for me! But the only wall between me and the custom ROM is that RUU... The only thing that I haven't understood yet, is the utility of this RUU... Can I revert to stock WITHOUT this RUU, but only with my stock ROM+stock recovery? Help me to figure out the function of this RUU, please...
