Is this phone an SGS II?

I just got this phone 2 days ago, it's t-mo branded, says Samsung galaxy S II Android 4g when it boots. Yet looking at some of the pics in this thread, my phone doesn't look like the ones depicted.
How do I tell which phone I have exactly?
Thanks.

This forum is for the international version which is different from the carrier versions, you can check in settings>about phone and it should tell you your exact model number, you can then google it to get more info about your specific device
Like the original Galaxy S, there's over 9000 different variations based on each carrier. This is the forum for the international S2

Well, instead of asking strangers, since it's a T-Mobile phone you could have gone here:
http://galaxy-s.t-mobile.com/samsun...zygt*VAygtzlw*VyBpAgf+mA55Byf*VyBpAgf+mA55Byf
Or, you could have put "Galaxy S II" in the nifty "find your device" box in the upper right hand corner of the forum. You'd have found this:

Thank you all. I'm not new around here, but again thank you for the information.

Your Tapatalk says you have the T-Mobile T989, which is a Galaxy S2 in name only. (It's a Samsung, it has a sAMOLED+ screen, but nothing else in that phone has anything in common with any other S2.)
There's a T989-specific forum if you go to the main XDA forum page and search the page for T989.
I got my phone through T-Mobile. Came via UPS.

T989 is T-Mobile version of the Gs2 family. your screen should be 4.5' instead of 4.3' and more rounded shape

And the T989 is the one variant I know of that doesn't have an Exynos - it has a Snapdragon CPU instead.

i have no problems with the post but i highly doubt anyone would trade like that. u may be better off putting ur phone on ebay and getting one from there as well.
You should put this on xda marketplace.

You are looking to trade different network phones so it will be a tough trade. But you may get some interest in the marketplace depending on how much cash you will add.

[Q] White Galaxy Nexus in Australia?

hi there,
i was wondering if any local store like dicksmith is selling the white version of the gnex? since i am travelling through the continent, buying the beauty online is not the best option.
i know that dicksmith and harvey norman have the silver edition, but could not find any store with the white..

I know a friend of mine has a white Galaxy Nexus but I'm pretty sure he did not buy it outright, he got it from a plan. I don't think any actual stores have the white edition for sale (outright that is). Well at least, I don't seem to see it.
too bad, thats what i thought. maybe i'll buy it online and have it sent to some hotel or so..

Try mobicity website, they sell any phone unlocked outright in Australia including galaxy nexus an the new S3.

There was a thread floating around before where someone made it work, but it took some effort. The CDMA devices have screens made for the thicker phone profile and to work around the CDMA/LTE chips. If you're looking for an "easy" swap out/swap in, then you'll want to pick up another GSM model screen to replace it with.

S2 if you like to root and mod. Motorola locks up their devices tighter than a frogs ass, and 9 times out of 10 rooting them breaks something. Like original photon unlocking the bootloader came at the expense of 4g  If you're looking for an lte device you could go for the s3 or s3 mini, or gnote2 instead of the older s2. If you shop around amazon and bestbuy you can find the s3 for $49.99 with upgrade and $.01 for new accounts about once a week. Once you find the deal on amazon you can have best buy price match it for you and save on shipping and waiting

This. The photon may be better if you need a slide out keyboard or late. But there are better late devices. And development aucks for Motorola devices...
