Hey guys, so I got an amazing deal that i just can't pass up: int'l note plus $25 for my white tmo gs2. I just have some questions though.
Do you guys think that it is worth it. not the value (i kno its a great deal) btu i'm talking performance.
Will i get 4g or just edge?
Thanks for your help
You'll only get edge until T-Mobile refarms the 1900MHz band. There's a dev called bedwa who is working on unlocking the 1700MHz band. Yes, it has it but Samsung has it locked up. The phone has the same modem as the Galaxy Nexus which is pentaband.

I personally think the phone is a bit too big but not a bad upgrade. I would do it for only $25 but no edge.

I think he's getting 25 so he's coming up even more! I would sell it and get the gs2 again lol

Yep I'm getting the $25. I'd like to hear more about the band unlcok thing. Anyone have more info on that? The main thing I am excited for though is that it has like 5 ics roms

Wish I could. I would do it in a heart beat if I had that offer. I wish it was on T-Mobile.

If this works out, I'll most likely ditch the Galaxy Nexus. There's plenty of people who'll call foul for wanting to move over to an "inferior" device but I'd love more screen real estate with increased battery life.

I have both the t989 sgs2 and the international note on T-Mobile. You will most definitely get edge speeds. I suggest u switch to at&t or a prepaid carrier who uses at&t network such as straight talk or red pocket mobile

So lucky! I would switch to the nexus if it were on T-Mobile.. were unlucky.

Get an unlocked gsm nexus.

If I dont like the note, then I will probably trade it in Craigslist for gnex plus cash. But the note has the exynos chip set at 1.4 ghz while the nexus is ti omap at 1.2 I have used the nexus and found it to be quite laggy and the screen did nit look that much bigger than the gs2 I currently have. Plus the note already has ics roms

Just picked it up and I have to say that I miss the gs2. I got the phone rooted with a from with some bugs so I guess that I will have to put it on stock adlnd then give the phone another chance. Love the screen though
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Theres not much of a difference between our phone and the Note other than the screen. Hardware stuff of course but still running the same stuff.

And 100% likely to get ICS way before the T989.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Way before of course
The only thing stopping me from getting the note is no 4G on tmobile. Once you're used to 4G, there's no used to going back to 56k aka edge

If you were near me I'd consider trading.
I would too, where is he from?
Some guy just figured out how to get 4g working on an att note. There's a thread in the ATT Note forums
Nice, good news
Am highly considering getting a Nexus 7 to go along with my GSM galaxy nexus. the attractive price point, Specs, and size are what make me want the device. Have a OG transformer that ill give to my little sis with a keyboard and i replace that with this. Anyone have any objections to getting this bad boy? Only gripe i have is that it only goes up to 16GB! That and after using it for a while, my Gnex might feel small to me.
I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and order one $200 seems like a pretty awesome deal

just did for the 16 gb model.
Yup, ordered the Nexus 7 16 GB. I was planning on getting a Motorola Xoom (Currys were selling them for £130 but it turned out they were just lying about having them) so this seems a good substitute.
I'll be getting one. Have an A100 at the moment as I prefer the 7" tablet size but there is no dev scene on that thing and what can beat the dev scene of a nexus device?
Yep. Probably gonna get the 16 gig one in maybe month or so.

I am toying with the idea but I just sold my CM9'd touchpad due to lack of use because my GNex is serving me so well. Perhaps as a hack toy but that's why I bought the Touchpad.
Every nerd needs a hack toy...
Don't see the point, for me.
I have the iPad 3 and a Galaxy Nexus, and both are serving me good for what they do. The Nexus 7 just seems to be a Galaxy Nexus with a faster CPU and a bigger screen... It doesn't replace my iPad and doesn't do more than my Galaxy Nexus.
I am still not sold with the phone interface on 7" tablet.
And 16GB is too small ... without Micro SD card for tablet.
Looks like a nice bit of kit, but'll stick to my Xoom
I'm more anxious about getting jellybean on it than my nexus for the vsync
ordered it yesterday... 16g

Well after honestly thinking about it, i'm going to cancel my order in the morning. I seriously thought about it and i came to the conclusion that me having a gnex will ruin my experience. Honestly it will literally be our phone which is 16gb without any removable storage with a 7inch screen and some better specs running Jellybean that looks like it's in phone mode.. unless there are some features or value that i'm not seeing, pre-order remorse got the better of me.
I am, I am tired of my a500. Wi-Fi sucks and a teen inch tablet is not as comfortable as seven inch is

Definitely £150 is a no brainier. I'll probably give it to my girlfriend to use and continue using my HP Touchpad but that plan will probably change when I get my hands on it :-D

Just ordered mine now.
One word.... HTC must be CRAZY!
mine was offered $179

Smh...regardless I can get $250-$300 on Craigslist.. I know I know ..duh. But not everyone will know that.
Why would HTC pay you market value for a phone when they make phones? The guy on craigslist who would buy your phone doesnt have millions of phones at their disposal.
With that in mind, its a generous offer.

haha you can never win with those guys!
This would be worthwhile for someone who doesn't want to deal with people on craigslist. I can see why some would not. I don't have time to answer 50 emails all asking if I'll take $150 for my immaculate-condition phone that is worth much more.
Luckily I can ask my wife to handle it usually but not everyone can.

Really don't understand that's not a bad price. Unless you thought HTC was going to buy a old used phone for five hundred then sell it for six hundred. That would never work

What does this mean ?

CDMA phones for you. Lose value so much quicker. My GSM was $175 offered from HTC.
That is a solid price. GSM won't fetch much more than $200 since you can get a new one for $350

Hey, I was wondering, what does HTC do with the phones they get from the trade in program? How do they benefit?
Sent from my DROID RAZR
that is a fair price. I wouldn't pay more than 175 on cl for a gsm or cdma. nexus has never retained value. People seem to want them more when they are older because of os updates.

For what it's worth, my GSM GNex will get me $170. My brand new HTC One X (AT&T)? $175 lol
Best Buy Trade-In is offering $356 for an unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus in mint condition. Since mine hasn't been seeing much use lately (the GS3 is taking up most of my time), I'm considering taking advantage of this.

Sold my Nexus 7. The Note 2 is a mini tablet with 3g/LTE without having to pay sprint any more unnecessary monthly fees. :good:
Your guys statements are the exact reason I'm gonna be getting a GN2 in the next week. I already set up my Flyer for the kiddos. Not worth selling it for next to nothing.

Just sold my N7
I haven't touched my A500 at work since I got my Note 2. I only ever used my tablet at work and now I don't even use it here.

Gave the N7 to the wife along with my old G2. Good combo for her since she doesn't want to lug around a sizeable Phablet. I love the note 2, good fit for my needs.
I have the Note II and I'm getting a tablet but I'm not too up to speed on the tablet scene.
Anyone got any suggestions on which tablet out right now would be the best choice.
I'm thinking the Nexus 10 or the Galaxy Note 10.1 any other ones I should consider? Out of the two I listed which would you pick? I'm OK with spending up to $600, so the price really would not be a deciding factor.

If you like your phone to always have the latest version of android then go with the nexus 10. Otherwise I would go with the Note 10.1 or one of the Asus tablets.

+1 on the galaxy tab 2 10.1. They also have an ir blaster on the wifi only which allows you to use it as a remote. Although most find it a gimmick I love it. My model number is gt-p5113.

I also had the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and now the Galaxy Note 10.1...fyi the Note 10.1 also does the remote IR blaster thing and it works very well, though I don't use it as I already have a bad-ass programmable (and fully programmed) touch screen remote control for my entertainment system. but it's there. and it does work nicely.
Yeah it works great with dish network I can browse my guide and set dvr and preview right from my tab even stream my dvr recordings over wifi

You laugh but I got my daughter the nabi2 because I felt it was future proof. It has better specs than either tablet you are looking at, plus it accepts an sd card.
