HTC trade up price for GNex - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

One word.... HTC must be CRAZY!

mine was offered $179

GSM is getting 170'
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Smh...regardless I can get $250-$300 on Craigslist.. I know I know ..duh. But not everyone will know that.

Why would HTC pay you market value for a phone when they make phones? The guy on craigslist who would buy your phone doesnt have millions of phones at their disposal.
With that in mind, its a generous offer.

haha you can never win with those guys!

This would be worthwhile for someone who doesn't want to deal with people on craigslist. I can see why some would not. I don't have time to answer 50 emails all asking if I'll take $150 for my immaculate-condition phone that is worth much more.
Luckily I can ask my wife to handle it usually but not everyone can.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Really don't understand that's not a bad price. Unless you thought HTC was going to buy a old used phone for five hundred then sell it for six hundred. That would never work
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

What does this mean ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

CDMA phones for you. Lose value so much quicker. My GSM was $175 offered from HTC.

That is a solid price. GSM won't fetch much more than $200 since you can get a new one for $350

Reminds of the gamefly commercial....when people are trying to trade in $60 games and are only able to get $9 lol
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

Hey, I was wondering, what does HTC do with the phones they get from the trade in program? How do they benefit?
Sent from my DROID RAZR

that is a fair price. I wouldn't pay more than 175 on cl for a gsm or cdma. nexus has never retained value. People seem to want them more when they are older because of os updates.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

For what it's worth, my GSM GNex will get me $170. My brand new HTC One X (AT&T)? $175 lol

Best Buy Trade-In is offering $356 for an unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus in mint condition. Since mine hasn't been seeing much use lately (the GS3 is taking up most of my time), I'm considering taking advantage of this.

They are selling on eBay for around 250

[Q] Subsidized version for AT&T?

Has anybody heard anything about the Nexus coming to AT&T? Would like the phone but I don't have $650+ to spend on a phone.
No, no one has heard anything.
But and sell an iphone 4s for a 400 profit and subsidize your own phone

Might do that actually. I have an upgrade for AT&T so that definitely is an option for me.

Should I get Galaxy Nexus or wait for the next Nexus smartphone

I have Nexus S and software speaking GNex and NS are almost the same, ignoring the few advantages GNex has because of the hardware.
My sister got Galaxy S3 few days ago and now I want a new phone as well lol. Since I'm gonna dump a $***load of money, and I much more prefer Nexus dev phone rather than TouchWiz or anything manufacturer related, should I wait for the next quad core (and better camera, since that 2 things are bugging me about GNex) or buy this one.
I know how having a Nexus rocks, all the roms, tweaks, ports available for my Nexus S are just awesome, so I can imagine what to expect for this one or the future one!
I'm asking this because you guys have it and know it.
I almost ended up buying Note but stores jacked the price here, so no... currently GNex HSPA+ is around 300€ - 350€ here, unlocked. Thanks!

Well if you can wait til Q4 I'd say wait for the next nexus, especially if you're signing a contract.

Hilarious actually. I upgraded from the nexus s, and other than the bigger screen I really don't notice a while back of a lot of difference with the nexus. Was already running CM9.

Wait, not worth upgrading without subsidy unless you can find a used one for cheap. If you're on tmobile, change to the cheap plan and you can buy new phones off contract.

People need to stop obsessing over quad cores especially when the newer dual cores are on par with them.
Because I can, and I was bored.
Correction: November through January.
Just get the Nexus. Then get the Nexus tablet when it gets out. :-D It's a great phone, why wait?

I guess that's the cool thing about a Nexus phone, even when the next one comes out, this one will still be relevant.
It's not like the jump from dual core to quad will be as significant IMO as single to dual.
Such as the GNex can and will leave the N1 and Nexus S in the dust in the following years, the next Nexus will take much longer to leave the GNex in the dust.
Clearly under par GPU on nexus ...wait for the next one and hope its better! Then buy it
Note that the price of the new Nexus could be twice as much compared to the current price of Galaxy Nexus.
But if money is not a problem, buy this, then buy the next Nexus when it comes out
Just wait it out. As good as the GN is, it's not that big of a jump from your current phone.

I was thinking about waiting for the new nexus but decided to order a galaxy nexus this weekend. Even if they announce a new phone tonight it will probably be a few months before you will be able to get your hands on one. The only thing that will bum me out is if they drop the price on the play store again soon.
I just got mine and I love it to death. By far the best phone I have ever owned. And!! I haven't even rooted it yet cause I'm lazy! Or! Its because my computer is at the pawn shop!

How about now guys? My evo 3d is getting so old and acts up from time to time. I found one on craigslist for 200 bucks. I'm stuck on Sprint for the next few months so the Nexus 4 is a no go ....

I would say yes. It's the newest nexus phone that sprint offers, since no nexus 4 :banghead:, and it's a great phone. Development is still going, and the 4.2.2 update will be coming to sprint sometime relatively soon.

At this time, I don't think so. Just get a Nexus 4 unlocked from google. The specs are so good, and so cheap, that it's a no brainer in my opinion.

I'm actually looking for a used Nexus. Dropped mine, and i think the modem is busted. Can make calls but no data.
Been looking around Ebay, and 170-180 is what it seems like they'd be going for.
Do you still have yours? I wouldnt mind paying $190 total for a decent working replacement.

Galaxy Nexus now or wait one year?

I have the OG Droid RAZR with grandfathered unlimited data on Verizon. My next upgrade is in May 2014. A local retailer has the Verizon Gnex at only $430 (full price, new.) So I am asking Gnex owners whether you would spring for the Gnex now, if you were in my position, or wait one year to see what's available then. I like my OG RAZR, but the Gnex is appealing to me.

Mm alright, To answer your question: don't buy the Galaxy Nexus. It's a great phone but it isn't worth 430 dollars - anymore.
430 is nuts. Buy one from here if you really want one.

$430 for a Smart Phone is just unbelievable, I personally don't know what I'm going to do when I want to get a new phone ( I currently have a Galaxy Nexus with Unlimited Data). I guess I will be a couple generations behind and wait a good year and a half. I can justify buying a smartphone for $200 dollars. You can actually buy a new Galaxy Nexus on Ebay for $200.00 I would do that if you need a phone right now.
I appreciate everyone's advice. You have some very helpful people in this forum!

Since you like your current phone and not in a hurry; I'd say wait for the Nexus 5. It's unlikely to be revealed on tomorrow's I/O but should be released by November or something, and should come with Android 5, So it's worth the wait and I believe you could get an unlocked version from Google Play Store for less than what you are willing to pay at the moment.
like the person above said, I suggest you wait until the next nexus comes out in November. Plus, $430 for the galaxy nexus is outrageous and you could get it for $200 in craigslist or ebay.
