Hello everyone!
I installed the ICS 4.0.4 BCM RC4.1U2 on my Desire (using Data++ layout)
The installation worked perfectly but unfortuanetly I am not able to connect to an 802.1x EAP WiFi (eduroam at University of Paderborn, Germany). I used the exactly same settings as before on the Froyo HTC Stock Rom, there I've never experienced any problems: EAP-TLS including root and client certificate.
Obviously the wifi configuration is not saved properly on the phone now, so that no connection is established at all. When I try a second attempt to connect, the configuration for the eduroam is still blank.
Is this problem a known issue for the ICS 4.0.4 BCM RC4.1U2? I could not find any bug reports concerning this. Connecting to other wifis (WPA or WEP encrypted) is no problem. I even tried a full wipe and re-install, but I have still the same problem.
Does anyone have an idea? I'd be very thankful for help or hints...
workaround
OK, played around a little bit... It seems to be a bug in BCM RC4.1U2. I installed BCM RC4.0U0 and could create the connection without problems. Then I flashed BCM RC4.1U2 without wiping. Now the connection (created under BCM RC4.0U0) is still available and working
I'd like to report this bug in the BCM developer thread but I don't have permissions to post there, yet... Any suggestions?
Hi,
i just encountered exactly the same problem.
Coming from CM7 with full wipe it is not possible to save any EAP wifis.
Existing ones show up on scan but it is neither possible to connect to one nor to create a profile for a non existing one. After hitting save nothing happens. WPA/WPA2 networks work just fine...
Best regards!

The problem was mentioned also in the developer thread.
As a quick and easier workaround (no downgrading) i can confirm that using
swift wifi from store (srry am not allowed to post link to app but heres the link to the post in the dev forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28537392&postcount=6580)
works fine for me!
Swift wifi widget solves this issue. Thanks!
Hi!
Now I encounterd the same problem after re-install again. Swift Wifi doesn't help because I cannot choose the certificates. The certificates are installed, I can choose them in the "native" wifi options, but here again I can't save the 802.1x profile. This time I would like to avoid downgrading as a workaround. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I don't know yet if it's a LeeDroid 2.1c or a Froyo issue:
The Sensui-Roms got the following issue:
You can't select your ca-certificate when you want to add my 802.1x-network. The certificate is already installed. Help is very appreciated! Could someone include the Wifi-stack of the Nexus-One rom to a Sense-rom or can tell me how to get it from a Nexus Rom to a Sense rom? I attached two screenshots: One of how it should look like and one how it looks like actually in my Sense rom. I edited the wpa_supplicant.conf and added the line
Code:
ca_cert="keystore://CACERT_Telekom root CA"
after installing the cert. (yes I used the right certificate name)
It doesn't help either. So it looks like sense isn't even capable to manage ca-certificates.
Greetings
Moved to Q&A. Please don't post question threads in Development.
Sorry, that wasn't the plan.
I tried another rom without sense and another sense rom to find the reason for the problem. Actually it's a problem with the settings-part of the sense-roms. HTC forgot to implement the possibility to specify a certificate in the 802.1x Enterprise WLAN settings. Can I import the WLAN-Settings somehow from a non-sense-rom, cause I don't wanna miss sense and I don't wanna miss 802.1x too.
Greetings
Yes, bump sucks, but the bug sucks even more...
I've got the same problem. Sense doesn't allow me to select a CA-certificate. With the help of wifi-ace (code.google.com/p/android-wifi-ace/) I was able to set it manually. But this doesn't matter, the connection could not be etablished. (Connect to WLAN... SCAN... No connection)
I need enterprise with PEAP, MSCHAPv2 and the (installed) "Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2".

Same here. I solved the problem by using the newest MIUI. It's faster than sense, has also a nice music player and is working fine with the defrost-kernel.

No Ideas? *hmpf* :-(
i had a similar problem on stock 2.1...my problem was my APN settings (i had a proxy listed and once i removed it, my problem was solved)
Hi, thanks for your reply.
I have no entry for the proxy in my APN. :-(
Also i reseted my APN Settings to default - it seems that this is not the problem?!
see if you can find the APN settings for your specific carrier on the internet to check they are correct...other than that, i have no idea, sorry
Yes, i double checked the APN details...
Thank you for your help... Hopefully the problem will be gone if HTC release an offical 2.3 Gingerbread ROM and the developers here can use this one?!
Pity...
Move up...
A long time ago since i started this thread, but the problem is still the same.
Anyone here who can help now?
thx

I give up :-(
Greetings, everyone.
I have a Defy running on Jboogie3 Blurless Honey (2.2 Froyo), rooted and all...but i can't get it to connect to my univeristy's wi-fi; I've read it's a known problem in 2.2 and...I kind of fixed it: I've replaced wpa_supplicant,wlan_cu and wlan_loader in my /system/bin folder for some files I ran into the net. This "solution" worked on ADLXMOD F4D 2.2 (another 2.2 ROM for Defy) but doesn't seem to work on Jboogie3...well, it partially worked, because I couldn't add any networks, but I could connect to the WPA-EAP wi-fi on my university. Anyone running JBoogie3 has been able to connect to an enterprise network? or anyone running 2.1 can please post wlan_loader,wlan_cu and wpa_supplicant?
The network parameters are:
Auth: WPA
Data encoding: AES,TKIP or WEP128
EAP: PEAP
Auth method: MSCHAPv2
TL;DR: Can't connect to enterprise wi-fi, anyone running Jboogie3 has been able to? Anyone running 2.1 can post wpa_supplicant,wlan_cu and wlan_loader?
Sorry for horrible spacing and bad grammar, my English is rusty. Thanks.
Hey guys!
I have just installed MIUI ICS 4.0.4 by Marange on my HTC Desire.
Just as previous version, it is not able to find my wireless modem signal.
I have switched between a range of channels (1-14 one by one) and regions over modem console, but problem still remains
I also tested the solution explained by dk_zero-cool , here, but it didn't work as well.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue?
I had a problem similar to yours with Sandvolds Rom. During install I could choose between two DHCP-Clients, with the first one I didn't get a connection to my wlan, the second one worked...

Thanks dude,
But I could fix it temporary by changing the wifi_coumtry_code into 'JP'
instead of default one in secure table inside /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
The bad point is, each time phone restarts, i should set it again.
Is there any way to write a script for that?
P.S: You live in Stuttgart yes?!
I am about to head off to Stuttgart in September, and am going to stay there for 2 years. Which mobile provider do you suggest me to use? Thank you...
Maybe you should try to change the Radio,I use the 5.14.05.17.
Hi.
Yesterday I donwloaded MIUI 3.2 and was very much happy with it until I found out I cannot connect to my wireless. In fact my SSID is not even listed. The only ones I see are the ones with TKIP encryprion, but as much as I know/read wireless n + TKIP is a no-go. Tried to setup a connection manually with no luck.
I have no problems connecting to my wireless with CM9 alpha5, Hensemod7 and MIUI v4.
Searching forums did not give any desirable results.
My setup:
Wireless: TP-LINK 1043ND w/ stock firmware; wireless b/g/n; WPA2/PSK+AES
Phone: HTC Wildfire S A510e; S-ON; unlocked bootloader (htcdev)
Any help/info would be appreciated.
TIA
SOLVED
The problem was wifi channel.
Some time ago I've set up my router to channel #13 whitch according to Wifi Analyzer was least crowded one.
Using CM9 alpha5, Hensemod7 and MIUI v4. ROMs this was not an issue. Switching to channel #1 solved my problem.
Hope this helps someone.
