WiFi problem with Miui v.4.0.4 - Desire General

Hey guys!
I have just installed MIUI ICS 4.0.4 by Marange on my HTC Desire.
Just as previous version, it is not able to find my wireless modem signal.
I have switched between a range of channels (1-14 one by one) and regions over modem console, but problem still remains
I also tested the solution explained by dk_zero-cool , here, but it didn't work as well.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue?

I had a problem similar to yours with Sandvolds Rom. During install I could choose between two DHCP-Clients, with the first one I didn't get a connection to my wlan, the second one worked...

Thanks dude,
But I could fix it temporary by changing the wifi_coumtry_code into 'JP'
instead of default one in secure table inside /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
The bad point is, each time phone restarts, i should set it again.
Is there any way to write a script for that?
P.S: You live in Stuttgart yes?!
I am about to head off to Stuttgart in September, and am going to stay there for 2 years. Which mobile provider do you suggest me to use? Thank you...

Maybe you should try to change the Radio,I use the 5.14.05.17.

[Q] where is my wifi?

Tonight I have updated my amethyst rom and now I can not find my home network. I do see the networks of my neighbors.
Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this?
Have already tried different kernel versions and reset my modem .... I do have internet on my laptop ...

Changing the wireless channel on your router to 12 might work.
I have changed it but that has not helped
does anyone have an idea how I can solve this?

I had the same problem recently after a ROM change. I found that I couldn't connect using channels 11 - 14, even though it was set to detect up to channel 14. I set the modem to channel 1 and it worked fine. Just keep trying different channels on your router/modem until you find one that your phone detects.
Thanx al lot!!! Why i didn't think of that! Now it's working fine!!! i changed it to channel 1

problem with network after flashing

Hi to everyone
Sorry for my bad english.....but i have a problem with my desire hd.
I had installed rom "revolution hd" with radio 12.54.60.25U_26.09.04.11_m2.......but now the phone doesn't take the gsm network like before flashing. When i do a call frequently bring the lines down and the signal rarely appear full.
What can i do to solve the problem?is this a problem of device(hardware) or in relation to a new rom (revolution hd)??
thanks to everyone
Mate,
It seems the ROM is not compatible with your carrier. The reason? Well, impossible to say, but probably the Radio that comes with the ROM, or even the adjustments of the ROM itself are making our phone unable to fully connect with your carriers net.
Try a different ROM.
Try to use the stock radio.
If it still doesnt work, check if your APN is set correctly.

The radio is the last version......so the solution is to try another rom....do you know a rom similar to "revolution hd"??
thanks

[q] no 3g on miui 1.7.1

I recently installed MIUI 1.7.1 on my t-mo DEFY and everything worked perfectly until I noticed that my 3g wasn't working. I looked around for a solution but only found some threads concerning no 3g on froyo but not GB. I tried one solution using HandlerExploit's method and the one suggested by Rob-t here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897445
but neither of them worked and just left me on a boot loop. If anyone has any suggestions/advice I would greatly appreciate it. Or has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it? Thanks

Miui rom eap 802.1x connection problem

Ok guys, here is my problem. I've changed a lot of roms so far, and latest miui rom for desire, from their site, is the one I like the most. I've been using it for two months until today without any problem. Today I realized that I can not connect to the wifi network which is using protocol from the tittle. It is just keeps tryng to connect and fails. It is something released to this rom becouse I can use that network with all other roms (tryed today). Is there anything I can try that could fix this problem?
Of course , sorry for my bad english, I hope you can understand me.

M8: Breaking of data connection

Hi again guys,
here in Croatia we have a problem with HTC ONE M8 (and M8 dual sim) and one network provider. Data connection is breaking non-stop (every few mins).
For M8, this issue was fixed with software update (users said).
For M8 Dual-SIM - no new software yet, I have 4.4.2.. Is there a other solution to fix it. Any experienced from other networks/countries?
Thanks
Well if it is this;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55216767&postcount=28
there hasn't been a fix yet, and HTC Turkey at leats, is not aware of the problem.
But it is not every few minutes on every location, so you might be referring to something else.
Sounds similar... in Croatia it is fixed with latest fw upgrade for M8. Still waiting for M8 dual-SIM upgrade
What is the latest official fw for M8 (single SIM)?
interesting..
I'm on 3.28.401.6. That is the latest at least as far as I know, which brougt the "Eye" functions. Any other upgrades in Croatia?
I will check with users of normal M8.. I have dual-SIM so I cannot check. I am on 4.4.2

If you are rooted there is simple FIX, simple disable FD8 (Fast dormacy 8)
ro.ril.enable.r8fd=1
ro.ril.enable.pre_r8fd=1
Change both to =0 and issue will be fixed.
If your not rooted only fix is to keep HotSpot enabled than data connection wont break.
Thanks Ivica... I am not rooted
Man, you saved my day. I was about to sell my phone because of this stupid data dropping problem, and your solution worked like a charm. Thank you so much ivicask :fingers-crossed:

Man,
That worked like a charm.
Thanks a lot.
I have fixed mine too. I hope they'll fix this on the next firmware.
Thank you.
Hey guys,
Is there any option besides the hotspot for the not rooters? It shuts down when you do not use it. Goddamn :crying:
Rooting and Warranty in Turkey
Türkiyeden yazan arkadaşlar merhaba, Ben de Turkcell hattım ve m8 mini 2 cihazımla aynı sorunu yaşıyorum. Bağlantı zaman zaman kesiliyor.
Cihazım Vodafone garantili, rootlarsam Vodafone garantiyi bozar mı bunu öğrenmek istiyorum. Şimdiden teşekkürler,
Not: For english speakers , I was asking for a specific case in Turkey so didn't translate.
Other carriers
I too am from Turkey, have a One M8 and a Turkcell user and having these 3g data drop issues. While I do know rooting comes with many perks I don't really want to go through the hassle and risk bricking my brand new phone. I tried the Hotspot Shield trick but unfortunately that was in vain as well. So, any other updates on this topic? I also want to point out that afaik all sufferers who submitted posts here are Turkcell users. Does anyone know any other carrier customer who owns an M8? Are they having the same issues too?

There isnt such RUU or ever was, and if you dont have this options in build prop, try actualy adding them and set them to 0, but problems your having are probable because your using that base, it was fixed in one OTA, and it required RIL lib to fix data issue, your base doenst have this fix.Any other INT rom must work ok

Many thanks, I will go with the EU RUU found here on the forum. It is a different radio version also but I am s off and superCid, so should be no problems?
This is the RUU I will go with;
RUU_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_4.16.401.10_Radio_1.25.214500021.06G_20.68.4196t.01_F_release_417003_signed.exe (1.5G)
Please confirm if it is safe for me to do this. Thank you
Edit: just can not properly download this RUU. I will try with some other RUU's since I am S-OFF and SuperCid. Any recomendations?

Hi @ivicask
I'm using rooted One M8 Android 5. I changed build.prop file as you said with root explorer as r/w mode successfully but when I reboot my phone then when I check the build.prop file, it is unchanged. Build.prop file is always back to older version. How can I solve this issue?
Also I tried several times with ES file manager, root browser, buildprop editor but it always turn back to older version after the reboot.
Thanks a lot.

ITS HTC write protection, you can flash kernel/or WP kernel module to enable it, or S OFF device to gain full acces to device nand.
Its mostly integrated in any custom rom.
