It has dependencies that rely on the launcher apparently, so you would have to port the launcher before you could port the Kindle app. It's just too hard to do for any dev here.

It is possible port windows phone 7 or another system to a Device with native droid?! if not...why?
I guess you are asking if it is possible to port WP7 to a Motorola Droid. If so there is no point to doing it and there are no drivers.
at present the closest you can get is using launchers, but it's no where near the same experience as most of the launchers are still quite buggy.
Hey, I am a complete noob when it comes to dev work, but I was just at the Google Chromebook, andI thought it would be cool for my kindle to look kinda like it!
See what you could do! Thanks!
I have the fire, it's pretty cool. I got a few andriod apps on it working. They are a bit buggy but only when they are resumed from standby.
Anyway, I loaded up golauncher and it works however it keeps defaulting back to the ****ty amazon launcher.
Any idea how i can have it set perminitly?
Thanks
You can try towelroot to obtain root.
After that U can rename launcherxxxx.apk in system/app in launcherxxxx.apk_
But all this is potentially unsafe and you must have some experience.
Just as the forked versions of Gingerbread and Jelly Bean that have been the basis for all the other Kindle products, you should NOT expect any mainstream Android app to work on the Fire Phone without some Amazon-specific modification.

I've tried to install Nova Launcher from apk, i was not able to set it as a default or put any widgets, each attempt ending with launcher crash. Google apps- Market and Maps- would not run, Music and Drive did run ok.
I just used apks, did not try to root the phone.
I use yahoo aviate, and it works very well. It has not crashed and doesnt consume much battery. Its very organized. Try it out.
Hi after using this phone for nearly 3 months I'm in love with the stock apps that lg have.
Will these apps still be installable on aosp?
If you manage to port them or if there are no dependencies, then they will work.

99.9% - No. Only specially hacked versions will be installable, and they will be bugged. Unfortunately, they require entire LG framework in order to function - qslide framework, double window framework, Quick Remote framework, QCircle framework...
Guess I'm going to stick to the lg software then.
I hate the aosp dialers.
Not bothered about qslide double Windows qcircle
Just messaging and dialers qmemo
going to look into upgrading to th s3v3n android hd mod and see how that pans out
Can anyone help point me in a direction of how to get this to work?
I have tried the desk clock APK from CM12, as well as an older APK from a Nexus device but they both just crash instantly when I try to launch them.
I have tried putting them under \system\app with correct permissions and a reboot, as well as installing as user apps but it makes no difference.
I am not sure how to figure out what exactly is causing them to crash like this, but I would imagine it shouldn't be too difficult to get such a simple app to work. For now I am using a Market-installed AOSP KK clock port but would prefer to use CM's or a Nexus Lollipop apk if possible.
Thanks in advance!
