Is this an app issue or kernel issue?
This started occuring this week.
I flash different roms and they all work well.
I tested lately on different roms as well and kernels.
Touch and hold sometimes do not register, causing me to lose a race or die(madfinger games).
Anyone else experiencing this? And possibly identify what is wrong.
Thanks much!
Games tested:
Monster shooter: lost levels
Mini moto racing
Samurai 2 thd
Shadowgun thd
Dead trigger

This issue is known on AOKP/CM9 ROMs. Try with Sense ROMs, if it still doesn't work, it can be hardware fault. On MIUI this problem doesn't exist.

Yes I have noticed this more on AOSP/AOKP ROMS.
It does now on Sense ROMs.
I will have to continue testing some more. It was fluid last night when I flashed a sense rom, then early this afternoon there were some of it.
I came up with a theory that temperature is an issue, it has something to do with the temp of my thumbs or the device. Somehow when it's cold it doesn't react very well.
Any thoughts?

im having lags on games like shadown gun and deadtrigger etc......
what is the best rom u have tried for games ?
and did u use any special setting for games to prevent lag?
and i am on leedroid rom should i flash a custom kernel ? would it soulve the lag problem ?

Running SandWiz ROM based on CM9. The issue should be on this ROM, but it doesn't exist. Maybe coz it has TouchWiz framework. And when I'm playing games, no matter which temperature, I have multitouch.

custom kernels there is a chance that it could cause this and i dont have ur problem i think
because i played shadow gun for about 30 min and nothing happend the touch was the same
here is what u do like i said before man
restore ur device to stock firmawre with a stock kernel try the latest leaked firmware like the (4.04)
and do wipes (factory/cache/dalvik ) from custom recovery
after that format ur storage charge ur phone fully
after that take it off the charger
and try playing shadow gun for 30 minuets see if it is the same
click thanks if i helped
Lately I have been using stock 4.04 kernel and still testing thr games. Shadowgun yes but ill wait for nexus7 to play it again. Touch seems back to normal with stock kernel, running on renocate 3.0.0 atm

Used some ROMs lately, and it appeared on SandWiz but I'm running BeatMod something based on Sense, and I don't have the issue yet. Now I'm testing the battery how long will it last, and I will not flash ROMs.

Undervoltage seems to be the culprit here. Not sure but in my testing, stock kernel seems to not have this problem

Hey , i got a really annoying problem with my lovely dhd..
It's rooted ship s-off and all this stuff is needed. Well, but the problem is , that I've got with every Rom I flash problems. Always there're freezes after sometime . Let's say.. 30 minutes . But not once a day, very often. With and without overclocking. I can't think of what's the problem. Hope someone here can help

Just change it before others notice it.
The problem may caused by as least as spoiled governors, minimum cpu setting, kernel, rom/app related, or the worst case scenario - your beloved DHD is sick. Nah, just kidding. Try it nonetheless. Change the governor, adjust the minimum/maximum cpu, reinstall/change kernel and uv script, or flash fresh rom if you want to. Remove any bloatware in your phone.
im having issues playing certain games on stock ics roms, mainly temple run. Its almost as tho the screen isnt calibrated because i cant pause it or really do anything really. Id like a reason as to why it doesnt work and a fix would be appreciated, thanks

Well alot of the games and whatnot apps have yet to be updated for ICS. So suspect issues to arise when using them.

Currently I'm running KA12 Ice Cream Sony rom and I'm going to go back to CM7 due to random reboots and freezes.
I'm using Doomkernel Advanced Stock kernel
Will I need to change kernel for CM7 or will my current kernel suffice?
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
You will have to flash the kernel from CM7. Or another kernel that is compatible, but an ICS kernel won't work.

Sorry a little off topic here, but are there any game compatibility issues with CM7?
I've had no issues yet.
Only thing that is annoying me is PlayStore keeps getting a server error and my Home button doesn't work :S

I have used CM7 for a couple of months, and games that use the touchpads work fine.

im using cm7 before, when i launch the games, it said games not compatible with the phone.. how to fix this??
This usually happens to my phone whenever I use an AOSP rom (AOKP, CM7, CM9, etc). But whenever I use a Sense based rom, the issues vanish. It usually happens when I'm trying to type something out or play games on the phone. Anyone else having similar issues?

I think that was a known issue. You could try flashing Aero's kernel, 0.7 for GB and the new v10 or 10.5 for ICS. Hope that helps.
Here's the link to the ICS kernels.

Right, I am using the v10 kernel for CM9 and this is happening. (Not going to use the 10.5 because data goes all wonky in it).
EDIT: I think you're referring to the multi touch issues in the CM7 AOSP roms. I'm talking about certain areas of the screen not responding from time to time.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA
No touch issues. It would help if you could explain just a little.
Every time I touch my screen..it responds perfectly! That's my issue! J/k

I think my words are pretty clear. The touch issues persist whenever I'm on an AOSP rom (right now, I'm using CM9), and the issues continue to bug me whenever I'm playing a game or typing a message. It's happening whenever I use the stock kernel or Aero's v10 kernel.

was just about to make a post...
i too am experiencing touch issues. only time i really see it is at the bottom of the screen, for isntance, typing and trying to hit space or shift. also in draw soemthing, i cannot select the smallest width paintbrush. so that area seems to be culprit
::::edit should note that im on cm9, aosp, 10.5 now and will report back, those issues were in aokp with v10
;;;;same problem. seems like the problem area is about 1cm up from the softbuttons
further testing reveals that in landscape that area of the screen has no problems, so its not hardware based (right?)

This might be kernel related or app related. Just have a look, at what is using your resources. I had this problem once before, and was actually kernel related.

You should remember that when you change kernel, you should always erase cache before flashing the new img, and then flash the necessary files(modules) afterwards in the recovery.
Job well done to that sense cam. I can(try) help out if you want. I can read code and look into files deeper. Just pm me if you have issues.
