Jhowlett, okay, i'll try to figure out. And the last question: have you test it while screen is off? When the screen is on, the volume keys works as usual

Is this mod working fine?
I have been searching for this thing for weeks..!
and is it possible to get this working on DDJV9?
Hameedhudeen, at least for me it works flawlessly on JW1 and JW6.
Probably it can be adapted to DDJV9 too, but need a content of /system/framework/ directory.
Can u please tell how to do this manually, or I can send u the android.policy.jar and u patch it, cuz its already patch with some mod

Ever since I went to cm7 nightly, I can't boot into recovery clockwork anymore. Holding volume down plus power does nothing anymore. Yeh I know I can get into it after booting up and going into clockwork but what happens if I can't boot someday and need to get into recovery?
You tried turning off, remove & reinsert the battery, hold volume down first then press power?
why would i remove the battery? Im not gunna take off my defender case each time i wanna do that
Ive done everything else though yes.

Because I asked if you'd tried it, which you haven't.
You thought that maybe the case might be pushing the volume buttons?
took the battery out and held down volume down + power and still nothing.
Is this feature totally turned off in CM7? I dont even see an option to turn on/off fastboot.
Im assuming this issue is the fault of the rom?
Is there another way to boot into the phone and install a rom without holding down volume + power?
EDIT: Did a complete overhaul and everything seems to work now. thx
Can you confirm that the volume keys work while switched on?
my volume keys work at all times

it's defo nothing to do with CM7, the bootloader is a deeper level of software and exists independently to the operating system. do you have adb? maybe you should try the " adb reboot bootloader " command, after you boot into bootloader, remove your battery and see if you can boot back into bootloader normally
Just a thought but have you disabled fast boot? Made that mistake myself and spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong.
thx guys but i got everything worked out 4 posts up
hey gyz,im in a huge problem.. i've got myself one used desire hd but the problem is that the volume keys r internally damaged..but im interested in flashing custom roms for which i got to know that ,the key combination to recovery mode includes power + volume down in DHD.. i've some plans to cope with it,donno it will work or not
1.edit the generic.kl n replace the volume down's code with the 'search' key's code..
2. let me know if i an use flashtools to flash a firmware without having DHD powered with the battery?.. i mean just like other mtk phones..can i flash a firmware after removing the battery which not also include vloume button issue..?
*is there any way , to fix my volume keys?* plz gyz..help me out
An app called quick reboot can avoid power button hold to certain boots..recovery twrp 2.7.1 is all touch. No volume keys needed to flash Roms and etc

tanx for ur reply bro.. i knew abt those, but is it safe to just have a nandrod backup? i mean in case of hard bricks due to flashing a rom(maybe kernel related misuse), the simple restore of the backup may not boot up device..,as far i know..
btw.. plz gimme the procedure to get root n twrp for my device having no risk of even soft brick/bootloop..
im using stock 2.3.5 in ma desire hd
A hard brick?? If u hard brick, a back up won't do ya any good. Lol. But yeah, always do a back up. Reboot to boot loader and type fastboot get var all. We need to see your specs. Post outcome plz
Hi I've been using a custom rom for nearly a month now (Archidroid 2.5.3) and I only recently noticed whenever i hold the power button my phone instantly reboots itself! I can still lock my phone but not get the power menu up.
I have Xposed framework with modules: Flat style module, App Settings and Play Store Fixes. I tried disabling flat style and rebooting but that didn't make a difference. Also I tried the uninstall option but that also didn't do anything. Xposed is the only thing that I could think of that might of caused this problem but I guess not. Any suggestions?

Hmm ok, the rom devs haven't listed any bugs or issues but I'll try that when I get the chance. Thanks.

Here you are guy
Only ambient display mod.
The ambient display is not working properly, it's on in the settings, but when I pick up the phone the screen does not turn on. When I least expect it, there it is bound showing the details. I've installed the ambient display+power menu from the other topic, is there any differences?

You can try hard reset and to install 5.1.1 ( LMY48I) rom stock.. You can try this tool Nexus Root Toolkit. Take a look here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934547093
It's a simply tool very very useful
You also can try to go fastboot mode holding pressed power key + volume - key
If the fastboot mode is active the volume keys are not inverted

Hi!
When pressing the power button sometimes only the navigation lights turn on but the screen stays black but is activated (meaning I can type and control it blindly). To get the display illuminated again I need to press power twice (to turn display off and again on). This happens as far as tested every three times I sent the phone to sleep locking it. This is happening immediately after installing any ROM. I will test whether this happens also while in Recovery. If, does that mean it is a hardware issue?
Device: I9195
ROM: AOKP Nougat (before I updated to newest stock ROM available)
Recovery: TWRP
Any ideas? I searched the forum but did not find something so far.
Thank you!
