Steacky in development thread, and also There you have tutorials
LET THEM TALK, ALOUD!! HTC ONE X, THE ONLY ONE. VIPERX + FRANCO KERNEL r12

I don't know where you got your info but I don't think we're going to see HTC release a Jelly Bean rom for the One X for quite a while so I wouldn't worry about returning to stock just yet.
Jelly Bean has only recently been released and HTC have to then customise/build sense on top and test etc. It's also likely that we'll see leaked test versions of Jelly Bean/Sense ready for the One X before an initial release as is the case now for the android 4.0.4 update.

[Q] How to restore stock rom after flash with Vanilla?

Hello,
I know very well on iphone but completely newbie to Android stuffs
I would like to flash a vanilla rom on my HTC X and i also want to ensure I able to flash back my stock rom when I am bore with it.
Would be very much appreciate if anyone able to show some guide.
help
have you unlocked your bootloader and installed recovery?
No, it completely new as just a week old.
Everything still in stock except few apps installed.
You need to go to HTC Dev website and unlock your bootloader first. HTC one x will not be listed, so you will have to use "other supported models" Follow the instructions to unlock your bootloader. Remember, doing this will void your warranty. Once you've unlocked the bootloader, i will guide you installing recovery and help you flashing a ROM.
there are not currently any vanilla (AOSP) roms, except a themed one i believe.
I too am waiting for an AOSP rom (CM9 should be the one) however for sense based roms Android Revolution & Insert Coin One X are both very good roms by some awesome Devs
Hi mgf8384,
Thanks but temporary i will stick with stock.
I have a ROM by Jdroid Its version 2.5.4. Its about as Vanilla as you can get. Its pretty much like stock Ice Cream Sammich thats on the Galaxy Nexus. Much better than Sense. Hopefully this will help.
Cm9 is out for hox and its pretty good its all vanilla no sense at all ) only wifi tethering doesn't work.. do you want me to give you full instructions how to get there from stock and have a back up of stock too ?

No you can't, you need S-OFF... wrong section also...
That is my question, as far as I've read thanks google S Off doesn't work (yet?) for the HTC One X

You can unlock and install other ROMs on branded devices.
We're just having trouble with the Sense JB ROMs because they require an updated hboot, that cannot be installed onto the wrong CID which cannot be changed without S-Off.
Thanks
My last Android was a Defy, seems to work a bit different to HTC

If you want a stock, unbranded HTC Sense ROM on your phone, your only current option it to flash Mike1986's STOCK ROM. It's based on the UK WWE Unbranded CID but can be flashed on any device with an unlocked bootloaded (via HTC Dev). The downside is that you will ahve to flash back to stock Vodafone ROM to get the Jellybean OTA when it's released, before you can flash Mike's JB roms.
I strongly suggest trying CyanogenMod 10 though. It's leagues above the HTC Sense based ROMs. I certainly wont be going back.
so let me see if i understand,
if i had Vodafone rom and I switch to stock (and unfortunately my CID still VODAP102), I won't get any JB update?

if you're on stock you'll get the JB update as soon as Vodafone releases it... you just need to wait

Yes. You won't be able to update via official OTA with that custom ROM. Unless you flash the custom ROM for JB when it gets released.
To get official OTA you need Vodafone's official ROM back.

Correct, unless you stay on your stock Vodafone ROM, you wont get the JB OTA.
If you use a custom Stock ROM, you wont receive any OTAs, and you'll end up having to return to the Vodaphone stock ROM anyway to upgrade you HBOOT when they release the JB update so you can run a sense enabled JB ROM.
Personally, I'd just go ahead and flash an AOSP or AOKP ROM. I'm on Official CyanogenMod 10 and love it

[Q] Latest Jelly Bean ROM for HTC One X

Hi.
I have an unlocked HTC One X bought from Amazon, shipped from Europe (Vodafone one)
For almost all November I have waited for the Jelly Bean OTA but it seems that it won´t come to my phone so I just rooted it and wiped everything in order to explore the Custom ROM´s option.
On one hand there is the CyanoGenMod which appears to be not a stable ROM.
On the other I see there is one form ParanoidAndroid (pa_evita-2.54...)
I need the forum´s help in order to find out which one is the best option right now and if this is still better than wait for the Vodafone JellyBean roll out.
Thanks!
buddy.. no one here will ever give you an answer if you ask" what is the best??" coz best is really a relative word....
the link below has all the roms listed, please go through them, see and pick a few on what you like.
after that you can google to see the reviews for those roms.
hope it helps...

:good:
Our ROMs don't have evita in their name.... make sure you flash for the correct device
Since you want JB-ROM that badly , with your current CID you won't be able to update your hboot to later versions to be able to support JB-ROMs so the choices you can choose are AOSP / AOKP / MIUI . Since you have problems with CyanogenMod ( AOSP ) and MIUI is not a good choice either . Go for IceColdJelly ( AOKP )
Ice Cold Jelly.

[Q] Updating HTC One X - CID: OPTUS001

Hello~
I've been trying for the past gawshdamn three hours to enable my phone to run Google's Jelly Bean software... but to no avail.
It's been a long time since I last rooted my phone and did all the technical actions; so I'm fairly behind on what to do and all.
First off, this is my current Software Information from Settings:
Android Version
4.0.3
HTC Sense Version
4.0
Software Number
Android Revolution HD 6.0.0 by mike1986
The phone is from Optus and I've rooted it and installed the custom rom.
My attempt:
I've tried to install the Optus OTA which I found...Only to find that it would be stupid to update an official OTA on a custom ROM.
I then tried looking for a custom ROM and found that there is none available for my model?
So I want to ask...
How do I update my phone to the JellyBean with Sense? Or is this option even available to me?
If no... how can I update my phone to the Jellybean without sense?
This is giving me such a headache tonight
I would appreciate help,
Thanks!
In the general section, go to stock cid backups thread and download the nanodroid backup for Optus. Then restore it on cmw recovery. This should get you back to stock.
And JB for Optus hasn't been released yet. It's eta is mid December but I highly doubt there will not be delays. The original eta was early December.

O2_102 & ahrd 17.1?

Can I simply flash AHRD 17.1 on my HTC One X(o2_102)?
I tried to find more information on the other threads but I found no real answer...
Im on HBOOT 0.96, is there any way to update?
No, you have to wait for o2 to update you to JB, then you can go custom

At the moment JB is only out on unbranded handsets. To run JB you have to have the update firmware but this is only available on unbranded handsets that have had the JB update. Until you get the update from your carrier you won't be able to run a JB ROM based on Sense
