[Q] Latest Jelly Bean ROM for HTC One X - HTC One X

Hi.
I have an unlocked HTC One X bought from Amazon, shipped from Europe (Vodafone one)
For almost all November I have waited for the Jelly Bean OTA but it seems that it won´t come to my phone so I just rooted it and wiped everything in order to explore the Custom ROM´s option.
On one hand there is the CyanoGenMod which appears to be not a stable ROM.
On the other I see there is one form ParanoidAndroid (pa_evita-2.54...)
I need the forum´s help in order to find out which one is the best option right now and if this is still better than wait for the Vodafone JellyBean roll out.
Thanks!

buddy.. no one here will ever give you an answer if you ask" what is the best??" coz best is really a relative word....
the link below has all the roms listed, please go through them, see and pick a few on what you like.
after that you can google to see the reviews for those roms.
hope it helps...

:good:

Our ROMs don't have evita in their name.... make sure you flash for the correct device

Since you want JB-ROM that badly , with your current CID you won't be able to update your hboot to later versions to be able to support JB-ROMs so the choices you can choose are AOSP / AOKP / MIUI . Since you have problems with CyanogenMod ( AOSP ) and MIUI is not a good choice either . Go for IceColdJelly ( AOKP )

Ice Cold Jelly.

[Q] How to restore stock rom after flash with Vanilla?

Hello,
I know very well on iphone but completely newbie to Android stuffs
I would like to flash a vanilla rom on my HTC X and i also want to ensure I able to flash back my stock rom when I am bore with it.
Would be very much appreciate if anyone able to show some guide.
help
have you unlocked your bootloader and installed recovery?
No, it completely new as just a week old.
Everything still in stock except few apps installed.
You need to go to HTC Dev website and unlock your bootloader first. HTC one x will not be listed, so you will have to use "other supported models" Follow the instructions to unlock your bootloader. Remember, doing this will void your warranty. Once you've unlocked the bootloader, i will guide you installing recovery and help you flashing a ROM.
there are not currently any vanilla (AOSP) roms, except a themed one i believe.
I too am waiting for an AOSP rom (CM9 should be the one) however for sense based roms Android Revolution & Insert Coin One X are both very good roms by some awesome Devs
Hi mgf8384,
Thanks but temporary i will stick with stock.
I have a ROM by Jdroid Its version 2.5.4. Its about as Vanilla as you can get. Its pretty much like stock Ice Cream Sammich thats on the Galaxy Nexus. Much better than Sense. Hopefully this will help.
Cm9 is out for hox and its pretty good its all vanilla no sense at all ) only wifi tethering doesn't work.. do you want me to give you full instructions how to get there from stock and have a back up of stock too ?

Htc one x cid

Hi, sorry i am new here, i had sony xperia S.. but now I have a htc one x and I want to install JELLY BEAN on it but i can (i think)
because the cid is something like VODA..
how can I change it ??
or if there is anyway that i can install a JB ROM !?
You can't install a JB rom that has SENSE yet. (We're waiting for the OTA (over the air) update which will update our firmware so we can use JB sense roms)
You can, however, try AOSP/AOKP roms like CM10, IceColdJelly etc.
At this point, there's no way to change your CID.
so you mean i can install all roms that not have sense ??????? roms like CM 10 without any problems?
yes. Have anything other than jb with sense.

Yes. But when you read through you will see that some have issues of their own like GPS not working, the camera's not as good quality etc. They're perfectly usable though!
thx
and if i want to go back to sense ? becaues i ve installed cm 10 but i got smome white pixels flickering and also and also quadrant = 4000
with other ics sense was like 5400
Install Android Revolution HD 9.7.2 and you've got 6000 points in Quadrant
I wouldn't worry too much about benchmarks. If you're unhappy, you can go to a tweaked sense rom like ARHD 9.xx or back to stock by restoring your nandroid backup that you should have made before installing other roms, or by downloading your stock ruu file (lots of threads around with details).

Should I install a custom ROM?

Hi, I recently bought my HTC One X as an early upgrade from my iphone and I absolutely love it. I bought the phone out right unlocked and put my 3 contract sim in it and have been patiently waiting for them to send out the jellybean update but its taking so long. I like my phone the way it is but there are also a lot of features of 4+ that I think would improve it greatly. I've been looking at the "Android Revolution HD 13.0" rom and am seriously considering installing but I'm still not sure. I like having official software on my phone (I've had bad experiences with custom roms in the past) but this rom claims to simply be a tweaked version of the official. Does anyone who has this rom installed recommend going for it? I just can't decide!
Go for it ! Custom ROMs da best especially ARHD from mike1986 . If you want to flash ARHD 13.0 , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32855238&postcount=29798 look into this guide . It summarizes everything .

Thanks for the guide! I'm really thinking of doing it now. All I really want to know though is does this rom do everything that the official one I will receive (eventually) from my network does?
This ROM is just the tweaked version of official ROM which is way better than what you'll be getting from your network .

[Q] My One X Customization

Hi Experts.
I recently got a HTC One X, it is the UK Orange version, and i live and use it in India.
android ver - 4.04
sense - 4.1
softwre no - 2.17.61.3
htc sdk api - 4.23
kernel - 2.6.39.4
i had installed a custom rom to my Incredible S couple of months back.
and with a lot of courage, i have Rooted my brand new HOX
now.. i really like to know -
1 - which stock like Rom do you experts suggest for my model ( shouldnt be much different from stock, but faster, with mods & without bloatware & Latest)
2 - should i also flash my radio? How? which one?
Any other mods that you suggest for better battery management, faster.
please .. i know that similar questns are asked, but this is more specific.
Post links, and that would suffice
waiting desperately
someone?? anyone?? plz help....
I would recommend the viperX Rom to you from team venom. It's great. Probably the best Rom in the way of tweaks. Download that then do the OTA updates. I also like to recommend the bricked kernel as it has a swipe to wake option and with vipers tweaks you can easily overclock and change frequencies the best ics in my opinion

reading the forums i just learnt tht since i have a quadcore processor, it is an international version, and not AT&T or anythng else.

I would agree.. ViperX rom is one of the best sense based ROMs out there. There is loads of customisation options.
Also another great ROM would be AndroidRevolution HD.
AndroidRevolution HD --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603
Team Venom ViperX --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745176
Check out both the links.. and decide which one suits you better!

This is the international forum, flash only stuff from here, there is a AT&T rogers HTC one xl forum that's the dualcore...
So you have the international one x ? Flash from this forum !
Give a try to latest insertcoin rom (13).
Furthermore if u want:
In a fileexplorer (es explorer or solid explorer) go to root folder -system-apps and delete unneeded apps with caution (u need to know what u are doing). If u want i can create a minimized version of it 4 u and upload it... (whithout medialink, htc location, video editor, stock wallpapers, without live wallpapers and all that crap - at least i like it without them). Then u'll get a perfectly sleak rom.
I tried maximus rom, venom, renovate, revolution HD...
Believe me, this one is the smoothest around...
So long story short, let me know if you want my lighter version of insertcoin.

[Q] How To Upgrade?

Hello all, i rooted my HTC one X quite a while ago, and i never fully understood what i was doing.. but now im stuck with an OLDER rom.. that i seem to be having battery issues with + locks up etc.. i'd like to upgrade to a different rom, AOKP? ( spelling? ) but im unsure how to go about it.. as my phone hasn't been updated since i first rooted it.. i also made the mistake of not making a back up of the stock rom.. so i cant re flash it and go back to the original rom, update etc.. if someone would be kind enough to explain how i could do this? i was looking at viper rom at one point but noticed my kernal? was wrong or something was wrong and im also classed as international ( australian ) so yeah... no idea what im doing so could someone post for EG. an AOKP? (spelling ) rom that would work with the australian HTC ONE X and possibly what i have to do to get my phone to the stage i could follow the root ( noobs guide on youtube ) as to update to AOKP. would be much appreciated.
Details about phone:
Android version: 4.0.4
HTC sense version: 4.1
Baseband version: 2.1204.135.20
Kernal: 2.6.39.4-g090b42e
ROM: Android revolution HD 9.7.0 By Mike1986
Please and thank you for ANY help and assistance that you could and or have provided
I assume you mean Android Open Kang Project. Our device's AOKP build is called ice cold jelly and you can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052610
In order to flash it you'll need to update your hboot version.
Please do
fastboot oem readcid
And post the output here.
EDIT: I if you're feeling lazy, I'll be glad to remotely use your PC to flash it.
