I have 2 Epics, soon to be 3 that need to be wiped for selling them.
All 3 are rooted with Clockwork Mod on them. Is there a way to wipe the phones back to 100% stock?
Use ODIN to return both to stock. Make sure you have Samsung drivers installed on your PC.

First off questions go in Q&A
Second: google how to restore a semi-bricked epic xda and it will point you to the thread in development that explains it and has links to the files. You need to odin it to stock.

why not sell them rooted probably get more money for it not to mention. i know a lot of people on craigslist always wanting rooted phones.
Unless your selling them to a store that's different but even then they;ll just restore them, themselves.
How much are you selling them for? What condition are they in? I wouldn't mind picking up a decent one for a decent price, and it would save you the trouble of cleaning it, I'd be flashing a different ROM on it anyway and starting fresh from there.

Thanks for the replies. I have used Odin 20x to return a phone to stock. Just wasn't sure that pulled clockwork totally off. Is there a way to clear the flash counter on it?
I was thinking I would either sell them to Sprint or sell them on EBay. 2 of the 3 are in daily driver condition. The other 1 is perfect except for the charging port. Depending on the angle of the charging cable, it doesn't always charge. I'm not looking to make a bunch of money. But if they will sell for a decent price on EBay, that's what I will do. Not sure what the going rate is.

I bricked my phone last night trying to flash a ROM, it was stuck at the Galaxy S 2 Boot screen. I took it into Sprint today expecting them to do a full reflash of the phone, or at least exchange. They noticed I had rooted it because of the small yellow triangle that comes up when you boot, and said they didn't even have software yet to set it back to it's factory state.
The Sprint sales rep told me to come here to XDA to look for a stock recovery image and try to flash it that way, and it worked XD.
Thanks to Zedo, I used his method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272186
Just thought it was funny, I came from XDA with a bricked phone, went to Sprint, then they sent me to a Corporate store, then back to XDA. Lol

Haha. Rule of thumb with Odin is if you can get into download mode, your phones not "bricked". Shouldn't have went to sprint at all unless you couldn't access ANYTHING.
So in the future if your able to access even only Download mode, come here, not sprint.

I made my own with cables I had laying around and resistors I had. The cost of a new cable alone costs more than the amazon jigs. I was bored, but have one from the link posted above on the way....because its small and professional looking.
Yeah we don't have the software yet...but some of us who aren't so "coporatey" keep a copy of odin and the stock kernel posted here around...

A few days ago, i sent my phone in for a warranty exchange. I unrooted the phone, but for some reason the boot logo never went back to stock. I also never could reset the flash counter because i do not have access to a jig. I had 3 days to get it sent in and i was forced to send it in without resetting the flash counter. Does anyone know what T-Mobile will do? Are they going to charge me any money??
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
No. It'll most likely get flashed to stock.right when they get it . I have sent phones in with counters and wrong boot logos such as mytouch and have never been charged.

I had to send my hard bricked SGS2 in for warranty exchange, it was still rooted even. They sent me a new one no questions asked. Most the time the techs who are doing the reflashing don't really care if you're rooted or not. Worst that could happen is they charge you, though I would say your probably on the safe side.
I sell cell phones for my job and I can tell you most employee's won't even know what rooting is if you told them. When I returned my Galaxy Nexus it was hard bricked and had the bootloader unlocked, but they had no idea.
I sent back a sensation fully rooted with a custom rom still on it and had no issues. I would not worry about it.

For future reference they say you have 7 days but you actually have 60 days from the date UPS ships it. They will bill you the non return fee after 30 days but they will credit it as long as its within 60 days. If your pushing it with the cutoff but made it get a printout showing you dropped it off.
Hope this helps

Am I the only one found this hilarious lol
Here's the deal, the power port on my phone is getting lose, meaning that two connectors are off the motherboard. Also meaning I have to put the power cable at an angle in order to charge my phone. Went to T-Mobile today and talked with a friend, since my phone was bought off craiglist(no receipt) about options. (My phone is also rooted with AOKP Jelly Bean Build 4) He says that I can exchange phone for a new one, but I don't think I can bring it back to stock. The easiest way for me to get an exchange is to brick my phone. Today is Friday, and I need a way to do it by Monday. I figure I can try and take off Jelly Bean and see If that works(no back up). But I would link the easiest and safest option. Thanks in advance.
Well I'm not sure this is allowed to be a thread, but what I would do...download a rom for another phone and flash it.

Flash any ROM other our own or skyrocket. Also, you can pull the battery half way thru a flash. Dead phone for sure.

Have you tried a brand new USB cable? Micro USB cables are crap. If you take one apart you'll see that the connector itself is connected to the rest of the wire via some plastic contraption. This plastic piece breaks and that's when you can jiggle the connector itself up and down. Try it before you brick the device. IMO this thread or any others like this aren't inappropriate. We pay for insurance and after 2 years all that money adds up the the price if a new handset. Im gonna brick my phone at some point too and get another handset. That way that money isn't wasted lol. Also I've heard that tmobile doesn't care about people exchanging phones that are rooted and whatnot. Plenty of members on our forum have done this. Good luck!

thanks man how did you swap it out did they ask you what happened to it or why you needed to swap it i figured it would void the warranty and they wouldnt let you swap it
Stock tar isn't yet available. Sucks.
You guys are way too paranoid when dealing with sprint stores. It's not their main goal to void your warranty. You act like you have a neon sign above your head flashing "I'M ROOTED!" lol

It was pretty easy to return just had two go to a different sprint store to get the phone. I went to the store at the main campus in overland park. I like the white one it looks ok and no I wish I would have thought about asking for the battery I was just excited to be getting one that worked i didn't think about it. Would be nice to have an extra one. But when the lady was activating my new phone she asked if I had the charger, headset and box and everything and I don't have it she said don't worry about it so I got 2 chargers and 2 headsets now lol. Also yea that sucks the stock image is out now
Lol just saw that lame o well got extra stuff out of it and I really like the chargers they have longer cords than most of my other chargers.
Yeah, it would be nice to have extra charger. Ive been looking online and nothing. Sometimes I go spend the night at my moms or we go out of town and its nice to bring an extra one with without having to grab my own.
I accidentally flashed an international rom on my sprint gs3, and when it tried to reboot via TWRP recovery, it wouldn't turn on. Tried to plug it into my computer, and drivers wouldn't install. Please help!

Nope! You have Insurance?

Your hard bricked and no way to fix your phone unless you have warranty with sprint or pay the $35 fee for the replacement and you will get your phone usually the next day your other option is send it to jtag repair but paying sprint the $35 fee is cheaper goodluck
Yup, this is a hard brick
This is because the international versions misc partition just happens to line up with the boot partition on the sprint variant. So no way to undo the damage because the phone wont even start up

I don't get it either.
How do these people ever manage to:
1. Root their phones successfully.
(I could stop right here)
2. Grab an international ROM.
3. Install it, brick it.
4. Then find their way to the correct forum (and usually the wrong section) to ask for help. Here, where they should have been in the first place.
So many face palms. All the time.

Lol; though like previously stated, you've got a hard brick. Best thing to say is that you took an OTA and it installed fine, then it just didn't turn back on.
you didnt say if you get get into download mode if you can there is a forum on how to recover from international version but like eveyone else if you cant get into dl mode your screwed sorry
If you don't have insurance, it couldn't hurt to be extra nice yet extra "let down" at the sprint store. Worth a shot.

Seems like it's happening more and more. Hopefully the OP has insurance. I'm not a big fan of people flashing wrong things and getting a free replacement. If it's your fault, pay the deductible for a new/refurbished phone

They should implement that in recoveries where it won't flash an international ROM but the best we have is md5 which most people avoid
