I am looking for a case that is like the otterbox commuter but has a holster like the defender series. My phone is white so I want a white case. I know the Seidio active but white isn't available yet in white. They need to hurry up! Anyone know of any others?
Few criterit:
Must have a lip all the way around the edge of the screen.
Must come with a holster
Must be white
As little bulk as possible
That Nilkin case comes in white.

That doesn't cover the top or bottom of the phone just the sides. I do like the case tho.

This is the cheapest of this case I've found. This is different from the cases from china. Its more round and neat. I had the same case for my amaze, its high quality and stylish. Mine should come in few days.

I've had the Sedio for me Inc too. But I'm looking for a case that doesn't have the rubberized shell so it can slip in and out of pocket easier. But getting that and a holster seems impossible at thus point.

Ootterbox commuter, smoother than the active paired with a Seidio active holster
The commuter will fit in the seidio active holster?!?! If so that's EXACTLY what I'm looking for!

It will. I've been using that combo on my Galaxy Nexus and old Sensation. The Active and Commuter are both the same size. That combo looks better than the Defender for those who need a holster for work.

The surface holster will fit smaller cases like TPU's. It won't fit Commuters or Insipios Sycryllic.

Hold on a second.. I have been looking though these forums, Amazon, other retailers for the perfect combination and it turns out to be the SILICRYLIC DualPro and Seidio Active holster (been using active combo on my Inc for years, it's just too rubberized for me).

I use to have the leather case with the Innocase II Surface, but my Innocase broke so I decided to give the Otterbox Commuter a try. The leather case with the Otterbox is a little tighter than with the Innocase, but it works just fine. Over time the leather will loosen up with usage.
I think the Seidio leather case is one of the best leather cases I have had.
Hope this helps.
bump.
anyone tried any leather belt clip pouches that fit the EVO with the commuter case on?
yeah interested in this also, love a belt clip for my commuter
bizump. still trying to find this.
I've been using the seidio innocase and it actually works pretty well, the only problem I have is you have to lift the lock up to put the phone back in the holster but that just means it is in place better so I can't knock it out by bumping a wall or something.

I would imaging the active holster would also work since both cases look to be similar in size.

The Seidio is a tad (a lot) overpriced, and it's horizontal, I'd prefer a vertical. I have found the solution. Personally I'm boycotting Seidio until they stop selling their 1500mAh battery as a 1750, and their 2400mAh or there about battery as a 3500mAh.
This holster is $10 shipped and advertised as being for the Droid X, it's 3/4" (W) x 5" (H) x 3/4" (D) which is exactly the size of the EVO in the Commuter case. I am ordering this listing, but I'm sure other sellers have it too. If you go with a different listing I would verify with them the dimensions first since the seller told me it comes in 9 different sizes.

I've had it for a week or 2 now and it's great, exactly what I needed. Fits the EVO with the Ottterbox Commuter Case on it like a glove. I see the seller is now out of them, but I believe many other sellers have them for sale on eBay. Just make sure you buy the model that's for the Droid X.
I am also looking for a holster for the Commuter. I just bought the Seidio Innocase Rugged w/holster (actually the Best Buy branded Platinum case, but its the exact same thing and same price). I like it, but it is overkill for the protection that I need at work, so I am about to buy the Commuter. I know some of you say that the hoster from Seidio will work, but I think it has got to be loose, no? I mean the Innocase Rugged is much bigger than the Commuter, and I really want a snug fit. I want a holster that works the same way though, clip on my belt and have easy access to the phone. Any info/help would be great.
Also, if any one will take pics of the Commuter in the Innocase Rugged holster, well that would be even more awesome!!
Has anyone has experience with both if these cases? The $20 price tag of the Ballistic on ebay is undeniably a good deal, but for options and holster use the Convert seems quite versatile.
Please share your experience with both...compare/contrast them

Don't think anyone has the Seidio yet, they just started shipping today.
I had that combo for my Evo and I thought the quality could have been better. However, a guy I work with has one for his Droid X and the quality is much better on that one.
It's the only real rugged case with a holster out there for the E4GT, so I will probably order one if my experiment with the Ballistic HC for the Infuse doesn't work out.

If you aren't familiar with the Convert case, it's kind of like taking the Surface case and putting the Active case over the outside of it. First layer is the Surface case, which can be used on its own if you want. Then it has a silicone cover and exoskeleton that goes over the Surface case. It also has covers for the camera, USB port, and headphone jack, which the Active does not have. It also includes a locking holster and screen protector.

Any chance someone as purchased the convert case?
I got the convert case last week and dropped the phone in holster from roughly 15-17 feet from extention ladder on hard packed dirt/half frozen (it wasn't on purpose and almost cried) it still works fine. I like the fact I can get the outer case dirty and if I'm going out just use the surface case underneath. My only gripe is while trying to put the phone in the convert holster the outer silicone portion grabs the locking clip a little. I don't have any experience with the ballistic case but am happy with convert combo!

So how much bigger is the phone once the convert case is all on? I want to get one of these but I tried the epic touch in an Infuse Ballistic hardcore case and holster and it made the phone way too big and it was like holding a brick up to my face.. Any thoughts would be great. If anyone has compared the two that would be awesom too..

That's the Hard-Core series from Ballistic, not the Shell-Gel series... :/ I'd imagine the SG series to be a bit smaller than the HC series.

sweet... I may have to sidegrade from the Seidio Active Combo in a few months
EDIT: oops, it says: " Inner polycarbonate layer includes a built-in screen protector and inner foam liner "
Would this built-in screen protector affect functionality? Is it removable at all?
Wow!!! Rather expensive, isn't it?
Defender is not bad, but cost too much. My Reiko case is much better and cheaper.

Was I the only one who read its availability as "This item is not currently available"? I think I'm going to go with Seidio.
It shouldn't mess with sensitivity. I can't promise that since the case isn't out yet, but I've had otterboxes on every phone I've had and I always put a regular screen protector on underneath the otterbox anyway and I've never had a problem. I took the plastic off of one of my old otterboxes and laid it down on top of the screen of my Note and tried using the pen and it was super smooth just as if there were no screen protector on at all. I have a zagg shield on it now and I can barely use the pen for anything so I can't wait to get my otterbox.

Yeah. It does. I had it for my iPhone, and it was very well protected. But boy, was the outer layer a dust magnet!
Got my Otterbox Commuter today. I like it a lot, so far. Not as bulky as the Kraken appears to be. S-pen is easily accessible and uncovered. Flaps over headphone and usb ports have winged tabs that secure them under the polycarb outer case so they don't flap freely. Raised power and volume buttons are easily accessible, but require some pressure to activate. For me, this is good as I was always pocket increasing/decreasing the volume. I got it for $29.99 with free overnight shipping and the price went up $10 a few hours later.

Otterbox Top Quality
I've owned three Commuter cases (for Samsung Captivate, Infuse, and Note) and you can't beat them for the protection.
The only issues I have had are how the clips are attached to the plate. Twice I've had them break on me, BUT, Otterbox has been very prompt at sending me a FREE replacement. I also have to say that each time I was leaning in such a way that I was putting pressure on the belt clip, so I can't entirely fault the clip. Since they replaced it (promptly), I have no negative feelings.
Although they are a bit pricey, you can definitely see why they do cost more. I would HIGHLY recommend them. They give your phone top-notch protection. :good:
I bought the case today and compared to the case mate tough this provides much more protection however it does the phone slippery due to the hardcover having minimal grip. The biggest gripe I have with this case is the power and volume rockers are really difficult to press and I have contacted otterbox about it and just awaiting reply now.

great review, I have been searching for a gal s3 specific otterbox review and haven't found any... until now.
That is an issue re the lovely sleek lithe lines of the s3 being covered and ruined by protection, but as has been said, thats the trade off i guess.
I am having a really hard time deciding between a few cases. Bought the invisible skin full body protector (it's my goto scratch protection despite niggles with it) and that will sit beneath any case I buy. May have to take the rear skin off to fit but will cross that bridge...
Fancied a defender but the built in screen protector bothers me as I am worried about it fading and misting over time, where as the commuter does allow for the separate screen skin which then can be removed and replaced independently if required.
Would really like the defender but it is increasingly looking like the commuter will be the best solution :/
I just picked the Aegis off eBay for $26 shipped. Good case so far.

I have the seidio surface case...and I jus dropped it today from waste level on a concrete surface and let me tell you I was scared to look at my screen when I turned it over...cause the drop sounded nasty...I cursed in front of my 7 year old daughter...but to my astonishment the phone was fully intact and not a single mark on the phone...case took quite a beating though...
IMO...this is the best case and by far not as bulky as its bigger sibling the Active Case...so if you want little to no bulk and still offering great protection...I will stand by the Seidio Surface Case all the way...

I am using this case : http://www.amazon.com/CrazyOnDigital-GUARDIAN-Samsung-T-Mobile-Verizon/dp/B005ZG04Q4/
I highly recommend the Cruzerlite Clone Army for an inexpensive, slim, good looking, and grippy case.

+1 I recently got this case and completely love it. It feels great in the hand and doesnt add much bulk to the phone. Honestly, it makes the phone feel much sturdier.
