Hello all i currently own a Galaxy Nexus and thinking of buying a HTC One X.
I have read lots of good things about it but mixed reviews on problems but have many been ironed out now ?
Is it worth the jump ?

Make the jump dude. But you got jb. Why would you want to swap that for. Anyways word of warning. Next time search dude loads of threads about what you are asking and most of them got shut down.
Best thing to do watch YouTube videos and there are threads here giving you reviews also.
You need any more help PM me

With JB currently being available for the nexus there is nog real world difference in performance. I'm now running a miui rom on my HOX which makes it much faster than stock, but still slower than an nexus running JB.
I would wait out some more development for the HOX (official camera hack, Good JB port, Tegra 3 optimisation from the nexus 7 etc.) before switching phone's.
Give it a good month or 2. Will also save you some cash since the HOX is still dropping in price.
funny, I'm about to buy a Galaxy Nexus and go away from the One X for the sake of quicker updates and a bit better battery life with the 2.000mAh battery pack. I'm sure I'll miss the One X build quality though, HTC has done some really nice work there..
but to answer your question, i found the camera to be better on the One X, and of course the build quality is a major factor, the unibody design feels really nice in the hand and looks super good.

Hey,
I'm using my HTC Legend for more than 2 years now and I kinda want something new. I want a bigger screen and I like the update policy with the Galaxy Nexus.
I'm from Germany and could get one for about 349€. I know that there will be a new Nexus device (also heard rumors there might be 5) by the end of this year, but that one will probably ... expensive and i kinda don't wanna spend much more than 400€ on a phone.
What would you do? Why?

Given your budget, I'd say that you couldn't get anything better than the Galaxy Nexus. But be prepared to be disappointed by the display.
I've had it since December and still no real complaints. I'm not a fanatic about the specs like a lot of people. It's a phone, it does what I need it to do. Flash a ROM here and there for a bit of a different look.
On a budget... this phone is a great choice. I still would take it over the HTC One X or Galaxy S3.

You(along with quite a few others) must have gotten lemons. My GN's display is great and one of the best I've seen.

A few others? I wouldn't say a few, my friend... just look at the other thread, there's a sticky one as well
Just to note, is your screen perfect even in low brightness? No banding, no burn in, no purple tint (especially with greys), no black spots on black background and low lights?
Well, if that's the case... you've been really lucky
I have the HTC one xl, running the jelly bean cm10 alpha. I would take it over the gn, but only for the specs, and I'm regretting not waiting for the best nexus. I plan to get the next one as soon as it comes out

I currently have the sensation. Always had HTC my whole android life. Love HTC but thinking about diving into the Samsung life. I'm thinking about buying the unlocked gsm galaxy nexus from the play store.
I can't always afford the best phone at the time, I pay cash. That's why the one s and galaxy s3 are of limits. I am on T-Mobile US
You guys think it's a good idea to switch? I realize this is the nexus forum, and it would be biased. But I want to know if it is a good idea, or if I should wait for something else. Is is too late to buy one of these?
Just give me all opinions. Thanks in advance.

I literally just changed from a Rezound to the GSM nexus. I can almost gaurantee you'll like it more. HTC sense drags android down so much. I also really enjoy the plainess of stock android. Also if there was ever a good time to jump ship on HTC its now. They are dying off quickly right now.

From what I have seen so far it is decent. You can get a 2000mah battery that negligibly increases the size of the phone if the stock isn't good enough (1750mah). I don't use my phone a whole lot during the week because I can't carry it into where I work but it has been better than my rezound was. My typical use with my rezound would give it all of 10-12 hours of life, I see my nexus getting about 14-16 especially with power saving kernels and simpler roms.
I was Verizon + HTC for years and I just switched to the GNex on Straight Talk. I could not be happier. It's an amazing phone at a great price. JB is what Android was meant to be. Battery, signal, camera; it's all been great.
You won't regret it.
if u are a heavy user like me id recommend getting larger batteries. the stock battery only lasts me about 8 hours with medium/ heavy usage ( using facebook/ twitter/ youtube and playing huge games like max payne)

Most seem to think there will be several of them, not just 1 this time. And that they will be out by Christmas. But there's no official word this is just the rumors. They for sure won't be US$350 though, which is why I just bought this one. I, too, am a to-hell-with--your-contracts kind of guy, so I pay full price. And frankly, 600+ for the new Nexus is just more than I am willing to pay. Especially when I care nothing about being the fastest or having the newest. I'm happy with my OG Evo right now, in fact. But DONE with Sprint!
So i have been having my nexus galaxy for a couple of weeks and just download codename rom and i have to say its the best android phone i have so far. Then I see someone wanting to trade mine for a new htc one x. Specs wise theres a difference but I need your guys input if you guys would in a heartbeat or give input if I should or not. To me I am thinking jb>sense ui but on the other hand they said for one x, jb is coming out and jb on a quad core sounds crazy.

Don't do it. The nexus may not have the same specs as the one x but it delivers a superior experience due to vanilla android vs HTC sense. That and JB may be the last update the one x sees where as the nexus probably has few more in line.

1) Trade
2) Sell for $500
3) Rebuy Nexus for $350
4) PROFIT!
Disclaimer: I'm joking.. kinda.
Edit: Assuming the one x is unlocked of course. Locked phones go for significantly less.

Before having a GN, I was using an HTC panache.
I still think HTC make great device but if you love flashing and to have the latest Android, you should keep your GN.
Unlock bootloader can be painful and risky. Customs ROMS need more time before being ported because of some proprietary modules...

Who cares. If you don't like flashing and want the latest and greatest. Then get the galaxy nexus.
If you like to flash, then get whatever.

Do not I actually gave a brand new white att one x for a nexus because its a lot better the nexus just rockssss I love it and wouldn't go back
There's just so many reasons its better
The nexus is kind of like the iPhone line but now better since it will keep getting updates and there's only one released every year plus its unlocked and has great features
Trust me I'd you want key lime pie don't even think about the one x
Quad core and dual core are the stupidists fughts trust me quad core or 8 cores doesn't mean jack if you can not have the latest on it

I previously had an HTC and now a GNEX.... I personally wouldn't go back to their products unless you plan on using a custom rom. I dislike their software.
I would do it and try it. And of you didn't like it. Someone out there will be willing to trade it for a gnex. Just like you are!

Personally, I wouldn't even do the trade for sale and profit. The quality control of the gnex varies somewhat. Mine has a good screen, overclocks well, and seems loud enough. IMO, if you have a good one, keep it. If you have a not-so-good one, go for it.
Trade it, sell the one x and but a GN again(profit). Or wait for the new nexus

Any rumors/idea when is the new nexus coming?
You guys are right. I have a perfect gem galaxy nexus with no problems with perfectly calibrated screen, and battery is amazing. I am currently at 43% percent battery life with 17h so far with almost 50 percent screen on time just with random kernel and no display tweaks. Going to do this guide to make it even more better http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599025 . I am astonished. I told him I am going to hold it off for now. I am prolly going to look for another galaxy nexus to buy and then do that and maybe do a side to side comparison. Then make profit .

basically this. then you can even get an accessory for the Nexus after. you know, if you're into that kind of thing.
Do you like listening to music on your phone? If so, steer clear of anything that HTC have made in the last 2 years. They have a serious design flaw in the way they've been shielding their audio chip set, so there is a real problem with line noise. You get this low hissing sound in the background of every track. I had to ditch my One X cause it was giving me headaches.

Lol, well I came from an EVO 4G LTE myself (One X variant) to the galaxy nexus. I love everything about this phone...but I really miss the camera on the HTC, along with the SLCD2 screen, and kickstand haha.

So. I've got a friend who tonight just offered to trade a 32gb HTC One X International for my AT&T 16gb Galaxy S3. I've already got two friends saying it's a good trade, and I'm inclined to agree because of the Tegra 3 and the LCD screen. Just curious to see what anyone else thought and if they'd give a thumbs up or down.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Yes its a good trade. Tegra 3 and 32 gb, but you will NOT get LTE with the hox, is this a deal breaker?
Also the battery life on the hox is a lot less than the s3, but if rooted there are a couple of roms that utilize battery use very well.
Another good reason to trade is the latest sense, its brilliant.
Check the hox thoroughly, make sure its a perfect runner before you swap.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Don't now about circumstances in us, but here in Germany its not good, better to sell your galaxy s3 on ebay or Craig list and buy hox, it'll give you some extra bucks

Check what your network uses. GSM or CDMA. If you haven't, go read some reviews. I've been debating getting the one x international myself but I've read the battery life is god awful.
Been holding out on getting a new phone since I wanted one with a decent physical keyboard and other specs. Since HTC decided they don't want to anymore and I love sense its hard to look at anything else. Can't stand AOSP stock look or touchwiz for sure though personally.

Your out to date, mate. The battery life with last stock rom is pretty good. With 4-5 screen on time hox can live for a hole day. Gaming will cause some battery drain, bur even playing 1,5hrs Sega virtua tennis my phone gives me 3hrs screen on time.
P. S. : typing on 4,7 display with swiftX keyboard is such a pleasure after some time it collects your type of lexicon and it becomes really hard to use something other than that (ok, full qwerty is still nice on PC, but everything alse kind of suxx)

hey,
just got my Nexus from Amazon today. Also have a One S floating around (my main Phone). Wich phone should I choose?
One S sometimes has graphic errors (due to CM 10 I think) Nexus works great and fast (for me even faster in things like Navigation like One S) but has sh**ty camera and much lower benchmarks Nexus also has NFC while One S has better CPU and Camera but Nexus feels way faster then One S
What do you think I should choose?
Thanks
Benchmarks should never be the reason you choose a phone. So based on everything else you said, the only negative the nexus has over the one s is the camera. The processor doesn't really matter because the nexus is so damn fast anyways.

I also got both phones. I like both of them and have hard time to choose one over the other. The thing I like about Nexus is the larger screen and of course JB. NFC, I do not use that much so I do not care that much but maybe in the future it will be something of a factor.
As for One S, I love the battery life (compare to Nexus it's much better), the processor is great on One S and of course camera. I wish One s screen can be a tad larger but overall,I love One S design.
Overall, I think if I am carry a phone around the whole day, I would probably choose One S due to longer battery life, performance, and its compactness. If I am using for features, then Nexus is probably what I will choose.

fast but slower on some things like Navigation and starting some programs and it has graphic issues (dont know why) and much faster in benchmarks of course! when comparing apps like Google mail its the same speed as Nexus. Angry birds just 1 sec faster or half a sec. Any other app recommendations?
