Hey guys,
I'm on the Vicious V3 JB ROM and ever since I've installed JB since V1, I've noticed my native screenshot (vol + power) doesn't work.
Anyone else having this same issue and/or know how to fix it?
Thanks!!

Works on my CDMA Verizon Nexus. Pretty sure its just Vicious. I use Vanirbean, and its fine.

Yeah. I figured it was just a ROM bug. Will look at Vanirbean. This was the first JB ROM I installed. It worked so I never changed. Lol
Guess I'll be looking at alternatives. Lol
Thanks for the input.

Well I tried VanirBean. Native screenshot still not working. I was able to do a dirty flash with just wiping dalvik and cache. They said in that thread that it would be fine.
Idk what's up. No JB ROM works. Screenshot was working on ICS before I flashed JB.
Anyone?

K so when I fist got my gnex I could use it with my Bluetooth speakers from a far range I could be like two rooms away and could still here it fine and it would be smooth. That was stock. Now that I'm rooted and running aokp it is horrible. I can't be more than 4 or 5 feet from the speakers without it cutting in and out and being really unusable.... would this be the rom (aokp M5) or the kernel (latest Franco nightly)?

Could be either, especially if AOKP is using the wrong bcmdhd.cal for the device.

You answered your own question. Go back to stock if you need things to work properly. Custom roms are experimental at best, since they introduce all kinds of problems, including app incompatibility, hardware instability and broken features (like voicemail notifications not working).
Good luck.

Sorry it took long lol I'm at work so I had to go on chrome and try to get it on there then I had to zip it with androzip ....

Looking at it now.
Well, it is the right one. I know the Verizon version has been modified to fix choppy BT. It may or may not work for you. You are welcome to try it, but back up your current one.
Okay thanks I will try it when I get home

Hi,
Someone here who's going to get one of the gifted Nexuses with the preview JB ROM on them and wants to dump the ROM for us?
Would be very nice and I think there are some people who'd love to flash it.

I came to XDA to post this question, if those phones came pre-loaded with JB 4.1.
They didn't come preloaded BUT Google said they will be prompted to upgrade to the Preview Jelly Bean update within minutes.
Okay, so it's almost pre loaded ;-)
Which is even better so we can just grab the zip and don't need to pack the ROM.

That's even better... as it allows someone to just grab the OTA (preview) upgrade from the device!
will this only be for people who like to poke around with new stuff? or will it possibly be stable enough to use every day?
I'm on a Verizon Nexus and want JB now!
So any news on a dump? I came here to ask this exact question after I realized all the Gift Gnex devices were getting Jelly Bean :O

GNEX Jelly VZW/CDMA
Considering this leak is more than likely from a phone intended for a GSM carrier like TMobile or ATT, is it safe to say my VZW/CDMA GNEX will not be flashable, even with toying around with the radio?

OK. The leaks are out but they're only for "takju". Can I flash it onto my yakju?!
And it seems to be an update from IMM30D, I got IMM76I :-/
Well I'll do a Nandroid, flash it and hope it works ;-)

This comment does not make sense. You should say "Runs pretty good on my European maguro." Yakju is a build that you are no longer running if you've flashed takju...
I have unlocked the bootloader and have root. But I have no recovery. I have been trying for a few hours now.

Note that the ROM in that thread is not a stock ROM. It will work fine, but it is not stock. If you want stock, follow this.
Which model gnex do you have? GSM Verizon or Sprint?

shouldn't this be in q&a
seriously there is a sticky thread at the top of the forum. everything you need to know about jb is there.
While this is someone else's thread, I'm really interested in the answer. I have a Verizon nexus. My device is currently rooted and I'm using aokp milestone 5, Franco's kernel. How do I go about getting jelly bean?

Verizon nexus is a little bit different, you definitely can't flash the same software as the GSM model unless you want a sweet brick. I think rootzwiki had a port going that worked well for the Verizon GNex.

Hi guys. all these threads and stickies about JB are confusing me.
I am not an expert at installing ROMs, but I do have my phone withÇ
-AOKP Milestone 5 (maguro),
- clockworkmod (not sure what version)
- FrankoKernel.(milestone 2)
- su.zip
And I do have ADB from Galaxy Nexus Tookit, so I did backup everything!
I would like to go to JB, still have Root access. Not sure if I should go to AOKP, its fast and good on battery usage, but been a pain for acquiring 3g data...seems I have to put it in airplane mode and back to normal to get data on 3g working.
So, I am thinking of going stock JB from Google that way I get updates from Google themselves.
Where should I start?
Thanks
If I were you I would flash a stock rooted jb rom version JRO03C that is the Google factory image one and see if you like it. Aokp is just doing nightlies now and they may not have the stability you are looking for yet.

Depends, I personally uninstall it first thing just because even if I loaded it with cash I feel I would never use it, as most places I go don't support paying with NFC, but of course that is just me.

You could also try a rom created with JB source, like CM10.
No need for the OTA updates from Google if you've got a ROM running.

I don't think that the op flashes roms very often, so I'm assuming that they want something completely stable which means cm10 is not an option yet.

Thanks guys, that's correct I don't flash Roms often at all! Well good news I am now on JB as I wanted. So far liking it a lot...battery is not as good as was expected.
Can I flash a different kernel, would that help? Or any other tweaks?
Otherwise...no problem, I pretty much have rechargers everywhere I am...home/work/car!

Trinity has a pretty good stable kernel but only flash it if you need the extra features and overclocking capability.

I hate doing the "best rom and kernel" thing cause its so subjective. There are many good roms. Try them and see what works best for you. As for kernel, I've been using AK kernel exclusively since December and I've never used a better kernel. Its worked well for me on every rom I've used. Right now I'm on cm10.1 nightlies and it's great. Hope this helps you out.

Priceless.
Was I not supposed to do that? Because in my complete ignorance of why my phone and apps where lagging it occurred to me to clear all kinds of cache, first thing I did was clear dalvik and it worked.

Check my Thread ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211784
I actually found using the ported MIUI v5 around here which is using stock on 4.1.2 seems to be a lot more rounded in terms of performance than any 4.2.2 rom
rasbean or atom+anarkia diamond kernel
The last couple weeks I've been a flashaholic as I just got this phone after my wife upgraded. I just several of the most popular Roms, but Paranoid Android with the kernel it comes with has done the best for me. Again, as someone said, best rom/kernel is pretty suggestive. Good news is that we have an awesome development community.
Good luck.
