Has anyone had a problem when installing a custom message ringtone. I have the transformer sound and only a fraction of the ringtone will play, but when i use a stock ringtone works perfectly. Any ideas and thanks for the help.

I have found that in order to set notification ringtones other than the stock ones it has to be done from within the settings of the stock messaging app. :silly:
That is where I'm doing it. Works for a couple of rings then they start cutting off.

yep...me too..???
Try using Zedge app and apply it through settings... Just put the ringtone in the zedge folder, go to zedge settings, rescan folder and then apply the ringtone...
Thanks that works!

You could try Perfect Keyboard which includes a variety of sounds from different phones.

Would you mind sharing this "Windows Phone 7 Woodpecker" tone? I think I'd like to try it - despite searching for it and not finding it.
Here's the keyboard, go to sound and vibrate then select sound style. Make sure to download the English dictionary with it if you plan on using it as your keyboard.

I am on a rooted stock s3 that isn't running a custom rom just stock twiz. Everytime i set my tones they reset after awhile or after a restart. I've tried moving the tones from my external sd to the internal but with no luck. I can't get off the stupid whistle . Anyone know why this is happening?

Yeah i tried that but when i force the tone it doesn't stick either. I currently have it set to default to eliminate any possible confusion. Its like the phone loses the link to the tones. I can always rechoose the custom tones when they are reset so i don't know how to fix it.

You could try copying them to /system/media/audio/
I know you shouldn't have to but till you find a fix...

Thanks for the suggestions. The problem ended up being that llama was reseting my tones when certain things happened.

I HAD THE SOUND PROFILE ON SILENT, LOL.
I have Cm10 night 10/10/12 and when I get a phone call it doesn't ring anymore. All settings appear to be on. Any suggestions? Thanks

Go to settings/sound/volumes increase all volumes to max should be fine after.

I Held down the power button and changed the sound profile to default
I was wondering if there is a JB rom where the alarm can be silenced by flipping the phone over.
I have tried Slim Bean 3.0, All-Star AOKP and Liquidsmooth RC7 and if the phone is locked, flipping it does not silence the alarm.
Thank you
There is an application on the app store, in fact lots of applications have the ability to flip the phone over to silence alarm.

Any preticular reason why the app available in most of the roms cannot be silenced in the same manner? The feature is there. It just does not work.
Am I the only one using this feature?
Works for me on cm10

can the stock sms App set individual ring tones for ppl? I can't figure out how if it can. I've been using handcent, but that shyt makes my phone reboot constantly during the sending process.

I'm not running 4.1.2, but it should be in the contact. Open contact, select a contact, select edit then select ringtone! Give it a try.
thanks, but that changes the ring tone for when they call as well. I just want it to for texts.
