Need help rooting Kindle Fire 6.3.1 - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using Win 7, I've edited the adb_usb.ini and put 0x1949 in there...I'm running the latest Kindle Fire Utility.
adb status says offline
boot status says unknown
I'm stumped..

dude...you're a badass!
I didnt get it to work on my son's Windows laptop, so I tried it on VirtualBox under XP and its working right now.
I think its because he already has an Android device installed...even though I uninstalled it, it still recognized the Kindle and didnt take my "update drivers" saying the latest drivers are already installed.

only problem now is that when I run KFU, did perm root and now it just stays in fastboot mode...cant do anything else.

nevermind.. with KFU, I got it to boot. whew!

Solved - the stuck 'ADB status: Offline'
At last - after seaching here for many days with zero success trying to get all sorts of drivers to work - the above did the trick for me using XP on an Acer Aspire One notebook.
Huge thanks.

KFU 0.9.6 - ADB Status: Offline.

Hi everyone, I've been trying to root my Kindle Fire 6.3.1 for a few days now and I don't seem to find a solution for it.
Yesterday I tried rooting on my boyfriend's computer, which has Windows 7. I don't think the drivers were installed properly because it said Android Phone > Android ADB Interface in the Device Manager. I clicked the "run.bat" file in the KFU folder but it said ADB Status: Offline and Boot Status: Unknown.
Now I'm trying to root it on my computer, a Windows XP SP3 machine. When I double click on the install_drivers.bat file I get a language error, which is why I tried installing the drivers manually. Now when I go to Device Manager it says Android Phone > Android Composite ADB Interface. However, I still get the ADB Status as offline and the Boot Status is also unknown.
I have tried re-installing the drivers manually about 3 times now, I've rebooted my computer and Kindle every time.
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this. I won't have access to my boyfriend's Win7 computer for a few days, so help with WinXP is what I'm looking for right now. Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed.

Kindle Fire stuck at logo after failed rooting.

Hello,
My friend left me his Kindle Fire yesterday (it's vanilla, because he only watches movies with it), and I've tried rooting the device and complications happen and now my Kindle is stuck at logo. I'd really appreciate it if you can help me fix it. Here's what happened:
- I downloaded the KFU, and followed the instruction on rooting. After installing the drivers and run the utility, the driver shows as online and 4000, and I started rooting.
- The utility downloaded TWRP and FFF, and while installing FFF, the utility is stuck at <waiting for device> (at the same time, Windows gives me an error of Device not recognized). After I unplugged the device, kindle now is stuck at logo. I tried to reinstall the driver through the file in KFU to no avail.
- Open Device Manager, I saw the driver has yellow exclamation. Followed someone's guide on here, I uninstall the driver.
- After I plug the Kindle in again, Windows won't recognize the device and in Device Manager, it shows up as Unknown Device.
- I tried to reinstall the driver through KFU, it installs really fast (I think that means I haven't exactly uninstall the driver, idk), but then the device manager still doesn't recognize Kindle and it still shows Unknown Device.
- I switched to a different computer with KFU driver installed before, it still shows Unknown Device >.<
I tried changing the Bootmode through KFU to normal, but it stuck at <waiting for Device>
EDIT: I started with a different laptop, install a new, clean version of Kindle driver, and then connect the Kindle in again. It still shows Unknown Device.
Help please D:??????
If it says /unknown device/ in your divice manager then your drivers are not installed...Get your drivers installed first. Also try the UNBRICK utility it help me when i first started.

Most of the time (if not all), when I see an "unknown device" error, it is a sign of a corrupt or failing bootloader. So far, there is only one way to fix a bad bootloader (Firekit), but it takes a little work on your part.
Before I get into that just yet, you need to know that on top of that potentially being the problem, you still have to deal with Windows driver issues. So my suggestion to you is, since you may very well have to install Linux or set up a Linux LiveUSB to fix your bootloader problem, you might as well install Soupkit to see if the bootloader is in a usable enough condition to issue fastboot commands. It's unlikely, but you'll at least be able to launch Firekit easily, and without the need to install anything else.
Same problem
I'm having the same issue with my manager's kindle fire (6.3.1). I attempted to root using the instructions provided here . My windows explorer crashed during the process and the kindle has been stuck on the kindle logo since.
I have tried restarting the process with his supplied driver and I can get the kindle to be recognized correctly in the device manager, but the process does not work.
I have also tried the kindle fire unbrick utility found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428428 to no avail (device not found).
I have also tried the kindle fire utility found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889 also to no avail (ADB Status: Offline Boot Status: Unknown).
And last but not least, I have constructed a "factory cable" in an attempt to fix this. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be working either. Even with the factory cable inserted, the device never boots to anything but the kindle fire logo (Drivers installed, plug in, power off, power back on, kindle logo).
I would purchase a pre-made factory cable, but they all ship from China, I'm a cheapskate, and I'm pretty sure mine is configured correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions for trouble shooting this?
I've attached pics of my "factory cable" as well. If something looks amiss. Please let me know.
seems to be in fastboot mode - look here - especially post #3:

[Q] Kindle Fire Driver Trouble

Hi guys,
Having a bit of trouble with the Kindle Fire Drivers.
First time rooting anything so bear with me.
I downloaded the KFU utility and used the install drivers on that.
When i ran the utility it saiid that ADB status is Offline.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting. Enabled ADB on the Kindle (STOCK FIRMWARE).
Tried to install manually by selecting "Android Phone" - But i dont get an option for Android Phone.
At the moment my Kindle is listed under " Portable Devices" AND under "Other Devices" (other devices with a yellow exclamation mark next to it).
Any ideas what i can do?
Cheers

Is your kindle 1st gen? System version 6.3.1? If it is it still isnt that uncommon to have issues with driver install. What computer operating system are you using. If your on windows 8 you need to go through selective startup and disable driver signature verification. Windows 7 is about the easiest. Look for samsung adb driver if you had previously installed those before for a samsung device or kies. If you are not system version 6.3.1 you're using the wrong driver and it very likely will not show as android phone even if you're using the correct driver and kfu is useless for rooting you're device. Not to mention dangerous.

[Q] stuck, boot status: unknown KFU kindle fire 10.2.6

Hi Folks, I'm hopping for some help/guidance here. I have been serching and serching but not found a fix or solution that actual works.
Idealy, I would like to use KFU to root my kindle fire and then load jelly bean 4.2.x. I have tried some other tools to root too but so far no luck.
I mac available (10.7) and win7 64bit box avaiable (they main way I have tried.
Kindle Fire 2nd get running 10.2.6
I have tried to install the KFU drivers a bunch of times, and they seem to install but kindle allays either shows up as kinle (mass storage MTU device) or marked out as kindle other. I can't seem to get it show as the other drivers. If I try and update to them complains that it's a not MTU driver or that I don't have 64bit version (umm I can see it grrr).
KFU shows
ADB status: Online
Boot Status: Unknown
It can direct the kindle to reboot into fast mode but the change never happens after reboot, then hangs waiting for device.
I have updated java, installed android SDK tried other things to no effect... just not sure what I am missing in what seems to be a pretty simple process for so many (I'm not new to unlocking devices or using new roms either).
Thanks for any help!
Superclick was able to root
Superlclick was able to root and set it to be able to use non store apps but still can't get KFU to interact with it right. I'm sure it's me, just not sure what I'm doing wrong .

[Q] Help me with the fastboot mode on my KF2

Hello everyone, I have a Kindle fire 2 with 10.3.1 bootloader, and I want to install a jelly bean rom, but I canĀ“t install a 2nd bootloader or the 1-CLICK METHOD of fmkilo because my bootloader version. I need to downgrade first right? ok but to downgrade I need to get into fastboot... I don't have the cable yet. but I rooted and tried the adb shell comand to get into the fastboot mode. Perfect the tablet get into fastboot ... it says:
Fastboot (red font) and a kind of semaphore with the green light blinking.. but in the pc (windows vista basic) it says it found a new hardware named Otter2-Prod-04 but there is no drivers for that device, not in windows update. the amazon drivers doesnt work, the kfu drivers neither, I don't know what other drivers try... here is where I'm stuck...
To clarify if the kindle is normally turned on the pc recognize it like kindle fire -> andorid composite adb interface but if I use de adb to get into the fastboot mode It changes to the otter2-prod-04 and cant find drivers...
What can I do to fix this? where can I find the proper drivers...??
thanks beforehand for any help.
