Alright so when I take a photo, it saves just fine, and stays on it, But when I take the card out and than put it back in, they're erased for ssome reason. It just sstarted doing it yesterday, every picture I have saved from previous times stay there, only the new ones get erased. And its not only pictures i take. If I download an image off the web, when I pop my SD out than in, those get deleted to. So far videos dont get erased though. Anyone know why this is happening? I just formatted it now to troubleshoot but that didn't work
I'm running Syndicate frozen 1.2 and genocide kernel.
Thanka.

I just got a new class 10 sd card and I'm having a similar problem. I had to reflash SRF 1.2 for testing reasons and photos between flash were lost as well.
Same here, at first I thought it was EF02, still havnt narrowed it down. For me it happens when I copy ROMs, tweaks.zipz to the sdcard from pc, but what fixes it for me is just clicking/selecting the file, then unmount, it works...

Make sure you ALWAYS unmount your phone on the pc and turn off usb storage on your phone before unplugging. Prevents data corruption.

Are the photo files going into the LOST.DIR folder on the sd card or are they just disappearing?

Doesnt go into the LOST.DIR folder. And the space frees up on the SD card.
So its officially only doing it to the photo format files. I formatted my SD and than put everything back on it, put it in my phone, it scanned and it all showed up just fine.
Problem occurs when I take the SD out and than put it back in, the media scanner re-scans it and now every picture was deleted. All the videos, music files, zips, etc all stood on the SD card.
Just wondering why the heck only the images are being tossed...

Guess that means its not genocide. I'll try flashing back to Srf1.1 to see if that helps anything.
EDIT: So far so good with Srf1.1.1. I'll keep you guys updated.

Nevermind still does it on SRF1.1.1/twilight.
Guess only thing I can do now is odin than try reflashing everything.

I read somewhere that there is a 2gb limit per folder so maybe make sure those folders you are saving to is less than 2gb.
Hope that is the problem, cause I don't have that problem yet - I have a lot of different folders like birthdays, family and friends, automobiles, videos, etc.
Good luck, keep us posted!
I'm thinkin it may be somewhat my fault afterall. Whenever I normallu remove my SDcard I just pop it out without going to settings and unmounting ffirst. If I yo to settings aand unmount before I take the card out now the ffiles stay on it so far. I guess thats my "fix" for it if that keeps working correctly.
So anyone having this problem, unmount in settings/SD card and storage before removing the card and see it the files you'd normally lose stick.

I followed those rules. Also had to reflash the rom when a theme I was testing got stuck in a boot loop. Pics I had saved before thereflash disappeared after the reflash. I've formatted the card twice, as well.
Edit : K0nane says format using windows, someone phone format causes corruption.

I am not using stock card but a class 4 card. Over the 4th of july weekend I had Google services error, gapps error, a popup saying I had to wipe data partition it was corrupted, pictures all got wiped out...in 3 days. Had to Odin 3 times and only twice ever before that. At first I thought it was Genocide 2.0, then I thought maybe the ROM I was using, now I have no clue but no issues either. Hope maybe it was an Android System deal and they fixed it...but I lost all of my good wallpapers damnit! Lol

Every time I plug my Evo into my computer, it says there may be an error and it is recommended to Scan and Fix it. I always hit cancel. I want it to stop popping up with this message. I don't hit scan and fix because I am not sure of what it will do to my phone. Anyways, how can I fix it?
You should copy everything on your SD card to your computer and format the card.

I'd rather just copy, format, then recopy. And you guys are sure that after I copy it back over it will all read right and everything, correct?
A sd card symbol popped up on my notifications and when i clicked it it said my card was blank or had unsupported format. That freaked me out as i have a lot of stuff on my sd card. Clicking the icon would ask me to format the card or cancel. Going to storage and hitting mount also failed to mount saying blank sd card. Luckily i didn't format and decided to reboot. Everything was still on the card when it restarted. Anyone had this happen? I've always said this phone gets buggy when reading sd cards since i bought it but now it seems its gotten worse on ics builds. Currently running stock FC24. Well I'm just happy my stuff is not deleted and the experience just made me back up my card to my pc just in case.

Need more info to determine why.
What model card is it?
I've had issues with one of my 32gb class 10 cards messing up due to coming loose randomly. Other than that no issues and I have several SD cards for this phone.

Have you ever formatted it or did you use it from the old epic without formatting?
It might need a fresh format and wipe. You might also want to scan it for problems.

Just wanted to see if you've resolved this issue. I had been running Calk's E4GT v 2.9.1 with no problem and recently updated to v 3.0 FC24, ran fine for a few days then noticed a couple days ago some of my apps were missing because my SD card wasn't mounted. Reboot=fixed. Then today it did it 3 or 4 times, once it let me remount and all was fine for a little while. The other times mounting SD resulted in "Bland SD Card" notification and required a reboot.
Just for note, when I updated to v 3.0, I wiped cache/dalvik but not data. Already updated PRL.
Anybody else have a similar issue? Any suggestions?

I ended up upgrading to the FD05 tar and so far it hasn't happened. Maybe its an FC24 issue. I never experienced it on FC22 or previous builds. I can't say for sure thos cuz I've only been on FD05 for a few days and I'm already downloading FD10 lol. But if i run into the issue again I'll bump this thread.

So ever since I started modding this phone with custom ROMs, I have had an issue with almost every ROM freezing just a bit when installing/updating apps. It all started after installing Chemistry ROM, and then has been happening on every ROM I've been on since then (Paranoid, TPR, Goodness). It happens right after the app finishes installing, my phone is useless and frozen for a good 5-10 seconds. Has anyone had that issue and possibly know a fix?

Maybe something happened to your SD card?
There are lots of posts where wonky sd cards create some strange behavior.
I know there are some posts with the correct steps to backup your sd card contents, format it and then copy the contents back to it.
might be worth a shot.
I hope you get it fixed soon

Maybe your partition got messed up. I know it seems like a PITA but did you try to Odin back to stock and reset partition? Not sure if you need a special file for the reset of the partition though? Maybe someone can answer that before you proceed.
I would say to back up your internal and external sdcards and then reformat each one twice...then go into recovery, wipe everything and reflash your rom
I know its sounds like a long and annoying process, but in the long run your sdcards will perform better even if they arent the source of this issue
Here's a short video. You can see how I install the app and then it freezes and then all of a sudden "snaps back" to what I was doing.

Try running some read/write benchmarks on your internal sd. The transfer speeds may just be slow and thats whats causing it
What type of sdcard do you have? Size and class please

Ok, try some benchmarks, a reformat may be in your future if its the transfers are lagging
Sorry to sound like a noob Lil but what should I use to run the benchmark? Does the benchmark fix it? I've used quadrant standard a couple times, just don't know what I'm looking for...

Haha no problem, just download any app that will test your transfer speeds (read and write) a couple times, if quadrant tell you that then use that
What i mean when i say this is not that it will fix it, but it'll tell you if the transfer component is the issue behind why you're experiencing lag when installing apps. You can then proceed to fix it by reformatting your internal and external sdcards
OK so I downloaded Antutu and ran a benchmark for Database IO and SD Card Read/Write and got a score of 555. Is that ok? What do I do now?
Honestly have no idea what I'm doing or what I'm looking for. How do you format like you said?
