A sd card symbol popped up on my notifications and when i clicked it it said my card was blank or had unsupported format. That freaked me out as i have a lot of stuff on my sd card. Clicking the icon would ask me to format the card or cancel. Going to storage and hitting mount also failed to mount saying blank sd card. Luckily i didn't format and decided to reboot. Everything was still on the card when it restarted. Anyone had this happen? I've always said this phone gets buggy when reading sd cards since i bought it but now it seems its gotten worse on ics builds. Currently running stock FC24. Well I'm just happy my stuff is not deleted and the experience just made me back up my card to my pc just in case.

Need more info to determine why.
What model card is it?
I've had issues with one of my 32gb class 10 cards messing up due to coming loose randomly. Other than that no issues and I have several SD cards for this phone.

Have you ever formatted it or did you use it from the old epic without formatting?
It might need a fresh format and wipe. You might also want to scan it for problems.

Just wanted to see if you've resolved this issue. I had been running Calk's E4GT v 2.9.1 with no problem and recently updated to v 3.0 FC24, ran fine for a few days then noticed a couple days ago some of my apps were missing because my SD card wasn't mounted. Reboot=fixed. Then today it did it 3 or 4 times, once it let me remount and all was fine for a little while. The other times mounting SD resulted in "Bland SD Card" notification and required a reboot.
Just for note, when I updated to v 3.0, I wiped cache/dalvik but not data. Already updated PRL.
Anybody else have a similar issue? Any suggestions?

I ended up upgrading to the FD05 tar and so far it hasn't happened. Maybe its an FC24 issue. I never experienced it on FC22 or previous builds. I can't say for sure thos cuz I've only been on FD05 for a few days and I'm already downloading FD10 lol. But if i run into the issue again I'll bump this thread.

Im having a problem with my phone, specifically with media scanning. It never completes im going to post a logcat of my phone to see if anyone can figure out why.
Is anyone going to answer?
How much storage does your device have free?
The media scan says it's completed. The only errors I see are I/O errors (cannot create folders).
It looks like you are out of storage, or your storage media has corrupted sectors.
Also, this is a global forum, people are on different schedules than you might be. You should allow more than 30 mins, before you start bumping the thread for answers.

I had the same issue from a bad flash. I reflashed and it stoped.

Well for the internal sd i have 5.39 GB free while the external is a 16 GB class 4 samsung sd. with 8.97 GB free. Its not the card i scanned it with windows and linux mint and the sectors are fine. It works whenever i put in another sdcard thats empty. as well as the one where the card is full of music.

No issue, just a bad flash. I redownloaded, reflashed and it stopped.

That indicates it's an issue with your SD card, or a file on it. Try copying the contents to your computer, format the card, and restore your data.
Try it again. If, still not working, format the card and add folders individually to isolate.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Thats exactly what i did. I think either its a directory issue or something within one of the cards.
Alright heres what i found out. (this whole issues made me learnn a lot more about my phones subsystems) It turns out because i had installed a deodexed version of the ICS gallery from CM9 and it was fighting for resources from the built in one from the samsung gallery.
So I been flashing a few roms lately...TW based...every now and then I get a message of SD card damaged....I ignore it and reboot which usually skips the issue, but does anyone know what prompts this? Happened on the venum/super galaxy/mijjaz/blu kuban and I have no idea why.

I don't know what directly causes it but I found this link:
http://www.techcredo.com/android/ho...d-on-an-android-phone-without-losing-any-data
I hope it helps. You may just have to back up all your data on the SD card and reformat it and put the data back on.

Thanks for searching that....the weird thing is the SD card isn't really damaged and the error goes away after a reboot. Never pops up again no matter how long I keep my phone on or the ROM installed. Maybe its an ICS glitch on our devices?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Maybe?
I don't know if its a glitch or not. I'm not running ICS. Thinking about jumping to CM9 but kinda scared atm. lol but I couldn't find anything else on the SD card notification. Sorry I couldn't help more
I popped my sd card out of my s2 skyrocket and tried to put it in here and it says sd card damaged following another tutorial on xda on how to recover the data on it. It had all my family albums and such on it as well as my music and app data. Has anyone else had a issue with theres? Im using a 32gb class 10 made by patriot. Thanks for the tips if u leave some.

Have you tried to plug the phone in to your PC with the card mounted in the phone to see if it will mount as storage? You can also If you have an adapter microSD to SDcard and a sdcard slot on a PC or know someone who does try and read it from a PC. Have you tried to put it back in the skyrocket and see if you still get the error? GL

So ever since I started modding this phone with custom ROMs, I have had an issue with almost every ROM freezing just a bit when installing/updating apps. It all started after installing Chemistry ROM, and then has been happening on every ROM I've been on since then (Paranoid, TPR, Goodness). It happens right after the app finishes installing, my phone is useless and frozen for a good 5-10 seconds. Has anyone had that issue and possibly know a fix?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Maybe something happened to your SD card?
There are lots of posts where wonky sd cards create some strange behavior.
I know there are some posts with the correct steps to backup your sd card contents, format it and then copy the contents back to it.
might be worth a shot.
I hope you get it fixed soon

Maybe your partition got messed up. I know it seems like a PITA but did you try to Odin back to stock and reset partition? Not sure if you need a special file for the reset of the partition though? Maybe someone can answer that before you proceed.
I would say to back up your internal and external sdcards and then reformat each one twice...then go into recovery, wipe everything and reflash your rom
I know its sounds like a long and annoying process, but in the long run your sdcards will perform better even if they arent the source of this issue
Here's a short video. You can see how I install the app and then it freezes and then all of a sudden "snaps back" to what I was doing.

Try running some read/write benchmarks on your internal sd. The transfer speeds may just be slow and thats whats causing it
What type of sdcard do you have? Size and class please

Ok, try some benchmarks, a reformat may be in your future if its the transfers are lagging
Sorry to sound like a noob Lil but what should I use to run the benchmark? Does the benchmark fix it? I've used quadrant standard a couple times, just don't know what I'm looking for...

Haha no problem, just download any app that will test your transfer speeds (read and write) a couple times, if quadrant tell you that then use that
What i mean when i say this is not that it will fix it, but it'll tell you if the transfer component is the issue behind why you're experiencing lag when installing apps. You can then proceed to fix it by reformatting your internal and external sdcards
OK so I downloaded Antutu and ran a benchmark for Database IO and SD Card Read/Write and got a score of 555. Is that ok? What do I do now?
Honestly have no idea what I'm doing or what I'm looking for. How do you format like you said?

Check on a PC to see if the SD card is corrupted or stuck in read-only. If that is the case, you will need a new card. Had the same issue, bought a new card and that cured that, for now, but still corrupted the pics afterwards. Spoke with sprint and they said it was not a known issue. A few others are having the same issue.

There are many ways to check, when I put in my MicroSD directly into my laptop running Windows 8.1, it said there was a error with the drive and needed to be fixed, I believe windows 7 might do the same thing. You can also format the SD card to see if it works, but if you format it, you lose everything. I would make a backup folder of your SD card contents before hand. However, after taking out the SD card and putting it back in the note 4, the new SD card that I bought stopped corrupting my pictures, so it might just go away over time.

Plug into the computer and it recognized the files fine. I backed everything up and attempted to format the card in the phone. It did nothing. I deleted all of the content on the computer and it reappeared after formatting on the phone. Pretty confused

It's a bad SD card then, SanDisk SD card are known for having this issue. Depending on the manufacturer, there is a warranty. I just got a new card instead since I paid around 27 for a 64GB on amazon. Either way should solve the problem. There are SD card formatter software out there, but when mine had that error, it said it was write-protected. Could also try that, but doubt it will work
