I cant really say i use many websites on my mobile phone that require flash natively but this is a bummer. So i take it Google Chrome Mobile in JB is html 4 not 5? And so if JB doesnt support flash natively, whats Google to do? I dont think they can just leave it out. Hopefully they find an alternative.

They did leave it out and I'm glad, and it supports html5 not 4, this isn't 1999 anymore, we need to start using html5 and thankfully Google is pushing it. Soon we will see more and more sites make the switch and you won't know the difference. I honestly don't see many sites using flash too much.

I still party like it is.
As long as I can still surf the web like I do on my phone now. I don't care really. Flash is outdated there is no arguing that. Its all about the her experience. If HTML5 Leads to a better experience then I'm all for it.
I rarely use flash. I just update Firefox to 14 which has native flash built in but then I later installed Flash giving 100% access to flash stuff on sites. If its a youtube video embedded i much prefer to get sent to the mobile app.
Smart designers do not incorporate important elements using flash. For the most part that just leaves flash games and non standard video players.
Overall people hardly use Flash... plus I'm betting XDA users will find a way to make it work on JB.

While the early Android phones were just iPhone clones and Apple had a right to be passed, anyone who confuses an iPhone for a Galaxy Nexus is a moron. Software patents need to go, code copyrights are enough. Patenting software is like patenting horror movies.

Doubtful, considering it relies on Hardware Acceleration to function properly (which anything below ICS lacks). =/
Just be patient and wait until ICS is released for our phones; or give CM9 a whirl in the meantime.

That would require flash to be their number 1 product, which it is not, and considering it their one horse show would be a huge exaggeration as well... And especially not flash on mobile(since apple chose not to support it, most mobile sites already worked around it).
This is just like when they switched over the basic TV signal from Analog to Digital and my old handheld TV stopped working. So if Flash is Analog and HTML5 is Digital and considering almost no sites have Desktop HTML5 support its like not getting a signal once we lose Flash.

That is a horrible analogy... It would be more like the cable company not changing the signal to digital while samsung sold you a tv only capable of handling the new digital signal.

Google includes a prebuilt version of flash in Chrome for the desktop. They will never include it in the Chrome app for mobile. Flash on mobile is dead starting with JB.
So what exactly does it mean to me as a consumer not to have Flash on my Android Jelly Bean? I know alot about alot of things but I've never researched what exactly Flash does and How I will miss it.

Unfortunately it says the the report wasn't confirmed by Samsung, and it also says that its still gonna have to go through the carriers... dunno how att is because I'm new but I know vzw is a huge Hassel when it comes to pushing through any upgrades. My theory is that the Jelly Bean leak since is actually a Sammy leak and is still being worked on by Tmobile and AT&T uses the almost the same kernel both d2 the devices. The new jelly bean leak has LTE settings in it meaning that you can set AT&T LTE/PTA APN settings and use 4G LTE in theory. Their are risk because the leak contains a new baseband, you can always reflash back to an older baseband though so this is not the biggest deal. The update does not include a new bootloader so no worries their. And you can always flash back to ICS. In my mind this may be worth fixing up a few files to see if it works. I'm going to give a try. I'll report back.
Looking forward to what you uncover drew

The system and everthing seems to copy over fine, it's the kernel that's giving me trouble right now. I'm going to work on it some more and see what I can find out, but by that time I'm sure an AT&T version will be out.

No android and Ubuntu are 2 different things. They are both Linux but different. The good think about Ubuntu OS is that it runs with arm hardware that's present in android meaning that android phones should be able to run it. I'll be waiting for it to hit and get ported to a bunch of android devices. It will run gloriously on existing android and our s3 once ported. Definitely looking forward to this. It also states in the articles that it is the full blown operating system obviously customized appropriately for the interface but I'm looking forward to a full set of terminal commands instead of a condensed busy box.
One of the articles I think pointed to a Nexus in the next few weeks having a download available...not sure if that's true but I'm hoping our famous XDA devs can snag that and work their magic.

Petition to XDA to approach Canonical?
What I would like to see is to see what the interest of the developers at XDA to get their hands on the Ubuntu for Android or the Ubuntu OS for the phones, and then create a petition for XDA to get in contact with Canonical see if there is a possibility to get the XDA developers involved in the forming of Ubuntu OS for the mobile. Just imagine what that could do to help getting Ubuntu out there for mobile devices. I mean. I'm pretty sure we have a bunch of power users out there that would like to beta test it for Canonical.

Most definitely not. I used to own a number of Apple products. Their iOS setup blows. It was amazing 7 years ago or whenever the first iOS device came out, but not anymore. The only thing I still like about my old Apple devices is the click wheel for my first gen iPod Nano. Sadly though, there was a recall on them, but I got a higher capacity new one.
