Freezing Apps with MyBackup Pro or Titanium Backup - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Once you freeze an app, is there a way to keep it from showing up in the play store update list? Or does it have to be removed for it to not show up?
Also, with MyBackup Pro is there a way to remove carrier bloat or is freezing my only option? I currently own a copy of MyBackup Pro and would rather use that than paying for TB.

If your rooted why not just manually remove the bloat?

I guess, since I only recently rooted I didn't realize there was a way to manually remove some of the bloat add-on applications. How would one go about removing them manually?

In titanium backup you have the option to uninstall apps under batch. Just make sure you uncheck everything first then check whatever you want to uninstall.

I guess that is one reason to use TB over MyBackup Pro. Was just trying to save a few dollars and not have to own a copy of both.
Any other way to remove bloat?

Seems I overlooked an Uninstall option in MyBackup Pro.
I'm now looking for a way that uninstalled items do not keep showing updates available in the Play Store. Any options?

TiB will let you disassociate them with Market/Play
27. Can I tell the Market that I do not want to update a specific app?
Yes. Just long-click on an app in the Titanium Backup list and hit “Detach from Market”.

Question about titanium back up

How do i delete my back up on titanium back up? i mean everytime i flash a new rom or do a wipe on my phone it keeps downloading the apps that i use to have before i flashed a new rom or wipe on my phone. I deleted my titanium back up folder on my sdcard and it keeps restoring my apps, Im saying this because i got so many apps i wanted to edit my back up so i dont have to wait for all those apps to restore from market. Any help will be nice! thanks in advance!
theres nothing in the setting, sync option to disable a market sync?
your talking about the preferences right? if so the only sync i see is "auto-sync TB setting" and its uncheck. Or should i check dropbox?
In the donate version you can browse batch and it will allows you to get rid of the apps that have already been backed up. Free version does not allow the batch functionality.

Titanium backup does not automatically install apps. It is google's new feature. It is under settings/privacy backup and auto restore settings. I don't know how to delete the backups. I changed roms and it auto restores wether that is clicked or not now. It's pretty annoying if you ask me.

deleting stock applications

can i bring my stock apps back by doing factory presets after i deleted them previously with root explorer?
I don't believe you can, the best practice is to rename them. I just add .ars behind mine. I have also used Titanium Backup Pro to freeze the apps that I don't want. This appears to work also and you an always unfreeze them.
thank you.

[Q] Titanium Backup and Google Play store - problem

Not finding an answer to this one so posting. I know there is an issue - I saw the update notes in TB. TB just freezes part way through backing up.
However, what I don't know is if there is a workaround. At the moment I cannot get a TB backup at all, so I can't flash a rom.
Anyone know a way around this??
what the error?
TB should be able to do a backup independently from the new play store, it has problem only if u want unlink some apps from the market

Hmm, that is news to me. The problem is just that TB freezes part way through doing a backup. Doesn't show an error - just sits in notification bar doing nothing. Have to reboot to get rid of it.
<<edit>> TB also keeps freezing just when I try to scroll through its menus. Just removed and reinstalled it but still the same.
Well did a bit more searching and found this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567118 .
Works. Just clear data for google play store app.
Thank christ that's fixed.
Try MyBackup Pro that should not freeze and does everything you need. Or MyBackup Root, that's free!

[Q] HTC One - Uninstalling stock apps which are bloatware

Hello everyone:
What to do with bloatware?
I uninstalled some of the obvious bloatware after rooting.
I do not use Facebook, Google + etc. but I am not sure if it is a good idea to uninstall them?
Ideas on what is needed for absolute functioning of the unit and what can be deleted or uninstalled are very welcome.
Thank you,
bayankaran

Your phone will continue to function as normal after uninstalling those apps if that's what you are asking
Don't uninstall anything related to Sense or Android system. 3rd party system apps that you don't use are generally safe to uninstall. Don't uninstall Sense widgets.
Before you uninstall stuff, do a nandroid backup in CWM Recovery. Then backup the apps and uninstall them using Titanium Backup. If you're unsure about uninstalling an app, you can also freeze it in Titanium Backup to see if there is any adverse affect.
Dont uninstall, instead freeze unwanted apps using titanium backup.

Apps to freeze?

Just got my zenfone 2 a few days ago and battery life isn't exactly as great as I'd hope (besides the 5.0 leak) so what apps are safe to freeze with Titanium Backup?
Here's what I froze without a problem. Anyone please add to this.

What app did you use to freeze system apps? Greenify requires a donation package.

I used Titanium Backup Pro.
totenkopf_name, you can uninstall most of the preloaded third party software and Google apps can be disabled without root, and still get OTA. Actually, any app that you are able to uninstall, or disable without root won't affect updates.
I use those, but haven't updated in a while (features may have changed):
Advanced Tools
System Tuner
