Hello!
As the title says, my phone has no sound, no signal and no usb connection. I flashed Cyanogenmod 7.1 to my Desire and then these problems occurred after a half year. Now I tried to install a RUU (RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed) which was also successfully but the problems still exists. I also have a gold card. In addition, I also can't use fastboot via USB I tried everything but i can't solve these problems. I hope someone can help me.

Hello community,
i report the same problem with my desire. Since more than two days, no sound, no signal, no gps, no sound (speaker & headphones), no usb - connection (in ROM & Recovery). I haven't testet WLAN for now, but i think this wouldn't work.
I had the same issue in last week for one and a half day and tried to flash different ROM's, Backups, USB-Unbricks (No brick detected), permission fixes etc. - this all doesn't helps and suddenly, for now reason - it works! But only for a few days.
What I have done since the problem persists:
- Tried different Backups (4.1.1 (JB), 4.0.4 (ICS), 2.1 (FroYo (Sense ROM))
- Permission fix
- USB-Unbrick (no brick detected)
- tried to connect via USB (for ADB) - no connection established
- wait for another "miracle cure" of my good old Desire (that not comes to me)
Before i got these miracle problem - i got a lot of "only" connection losses a day in about the last four to five month with different ICS & JB ROM's - but a normal Restart (sometimes it needes to pull battery out) has helped here. I thought this will be a Problem with Android 4.x but now i think this was the beginning of something bigger .
Here are my specs for my desire:
Device: HTC Desire A8181 PVT1 AMOLED S-OFF
Android: 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean)
ROM: Elk759 v0.27.2 (based on Nikez Evervolv 3.0.0p7)
Radio: 5.17.05.23
RIL: 2.2.0019G
Kernel: 2.6.38.8 [email protected] #1
Hboot: AlphaRev STOCK 6.93.1002
SD: Verbatim 16GB Class 10 with 1,0 GB Ext4
Recovery: 4Ext Recovery 1.0.0.5 RC 5
My idea is, that the Radio or RIL is broken or has a bug. But i can't flash a new (don't tried with RIL but i think this wouldn't work) Radio with 4Ext Recovery. And i got no ADB-Connection without USB... So - i'm sitting here, in my boring room...
Did anyone of you smart people has a solution for this crazy error or should i throw this thing in the bin? (Althrough perhaps i used it as a "Gameboy" with no sound...)
Thanks for your reply and help .
(Sorry for my english...)

Hi,
I using htc desire (telextra) in india bought from Australia. Initially used stock rom then change to custom rom and used airtel sim card. i used it up to nearly one and half year without any problem. Before three months i had ported my sim card to Vodafone. After that i am facing freezing issues at the freezing time it receiving incoming calls and rings well but display is full freezed. Also while clicking on the power button turn on the hardkeys and off when agian click on the ower button...
Have to restart it for getting agian properly. At that time received incoming will show as missed call..
I tried custom roms (paul modaco and leedroid) after that i switch to stock unroot, then also facing the same issue
it will be highly appreciable if anyone helps me to solve this issue!!!
What hboot did you use and is your device s-offed?

I have the same thing happening to me. I too have been using A2SD+ for about 9 months now.
Within the last few weeks..
I was running Insert Coin A2SD+ 1.1.4 with the stock hboot, occasionally the phone would freeze and the only way to restart the phone was to remove the battery.
After searching around it turns out it could be one of two problems. Either my microsd card is failing (16GB Class 4 Sandisk) or there are some rouge apps causing this freeze?
I recently flashed the CM7 r2 Hboot and is now running the CM7 version of Insert Coin 1.1.4, as I thought changing ROMs would eradicate this problem but last night it happened again. Pulled out the microsd this morning and gave it a good clean on its connectors. Seeing how long it's gonna last before it decides to do its not-so-funny freeze thing.
Used android flasher to upgrade the radio to 5.17.05.23 as well even though it doesn't say so below. It does on the 'About Phone' page.
Not sure if this is going to help but this is my phone.

Well, good news is since I posted there hasn't been any screen freezes or the suspected app causing the freeze. Thinking now it probably is the microsd card failing.
Happened just now, no apparent reason for it either. Phone has been pretty idle the whole day, just one phone call earlier today.
Return to stock. If problem persits, call HTC.
Good evening fellow androiders,
during my daily use my HTC Desire (GSM) using a MIUI Gingerbread ROM suddenly, after months without problems, started acting weird.
The battery was drained, and when I plugged it in at home it booted into MIUI just fine and after 5 - 50 seconds it goes black and reboots. It now always does that and is therefore unusable.
Tried wiping and flashing a new ROM, tried booting without sd, sim, etc. always the same problem.

Try switching to stock sense ROM and see if you notice a difference. Read up on logcat, make logs and report. None can advise with guesswork.
Please help me
A couple of days ago, I changed my Micro SD card (without moving the files from the old SD card to the new one) so my phone kept on putting the loading screen, and after that, I planned to wipe and then re-install my ROM. I switched the phone to recovery mode, and by mistake after wiping (maybe before, I don't remember :/ ), I chose the option "wipe cache partition" so I was unable to flash this ROM again after that. then I downloaded the ROM "ICS for desire (sanvold)" v. 0.4.4 Beta, and it worked! but Wifi did not work! (when I enter the WiFi settings and turn it on, it keeps on saying "Turning Wi-Fi on..." even after it's turned on! and if I turn it on using the widget, or from the main settings screen in the wireless and networks (without entering to the WiFi settings) and after it's turned on, I enter the WiFi settings and there is nothing but the blue background screen). Bluetooth can be turned on and can be seen by others, but the problem is that my laptop said that it couldn't send a file to it, but maybe it's because of the laptop not the phone so it's not that problem, but my main problem is the Wi-Fi.

Baseband version: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
Mod version: Desire Beta 0.4.4
ROM: ICS for Desire (By Sanvold) Beta 0.4.4
I have flashed the radio 5.17.05.23
So my question is, what's the problem with the Wi-Fi? why isn't it working? how can I fix it? thanks in advance and sorry for making this long

Do a full wipe.
Boot, system, data, cache, dalvic, sd-ext
Then reflash.

I chose in the recovery "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" and "wipe dalvik cache"
My old ROM (which I had before this problem happened) did not work when I flashed it again
the other ROM which is "ICS For Desire by Sanvold" worked and I flashed it, but the Wi-Fi is still not working so it doesn't work :/ is there any other solutions please??

PM me if you have anymore problems!

Clear data for Google Services Framowork and problematic apps and reboot. When you reboot the phone connect to some of the google apps via mobile network and then try via wifi. You'll maybe need more then one try.

Hi.
Long time reader, first time poster. Or a "noob"
I have flashed the release of Evervolvs excellent P1 JB a few days ago. Everything worked fine up until today when the OS froze. I rebooted and it froze again. I rebooted and now I do not have any data connectivity. I have the H but the bars are constantly grey instead of blue as per usual.
When I installed it I made a back-up. I have flashed that and the problem still occurs.
I have done a full wipe and reflashed and still the same problem.
Could the radio firmware have become corrupt?
I have to confess I am not experienced in flashing a new radio and I am somewhat apprehensive of doing it.
I have rooted, S-Off and have a 1GB EXT4 partition.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dude...what do you expect? It's a pre-alpha.
You just flash a radio from recovery. Not such a big deal.
Also, last time I checked there was a dedicated q&a thread for that. Did we really need another praise here?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
@ Lars: I know what you mean. It is a nice mod but nog really trustworthy for everyday use. Losing the connection and fc, sometimes takingout the battery and reboot is the only solution.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
It happens, however I've never had any major issues with P1 so far. It's pre-alpha, but I believe fully suitable for a daily use. You can always reflash it or do a factory reset if you bump into any problems. I would have expected people to be prepared for occasinal problems while using custom ROMs If reflashing and wiping everything didn't help, I would try a different ROM. If that does not help, you are probably experiencing HW problems.
Thanks for all the replies.
It turns out it was a network failure, but it all coincided with my phone rebooting
Before I look a total chump, I would like to add that I was using Evervolvs ICS and lost data connectivity after long periods of inactivity ie overnight. I had to turn data connectivity on and off to get it to connect. I thought this problem was one and the same with JB. So there was logic to my madness.
I have narrowed the rebooting issue to the Facebook widget, so I have removed it and all is stable :highfive:
Would anybody recommend flashing a more up to date radio or should I stick with "If it is not broke, dont fix it" mantra? Which I am inclined to do.
Thanks again for the replies.
Lars
Hello guys,
1) I am using Nikez Jelly Bean: Evervolv Turba 3.1.0p1 for a few weeks now but every 3 or 4 days it suddenly gets EXTREMELY slow, for example it needs about 10 seconds to turn off the screen. But the phone is not really crashed, its just so slow like the CPU is working with 10 MHz... This seems to happen randomly.
When restart by removing and inserting the battery it has hardresetted itself. The apps are deleted but their appdata exists.. The homebutton and the trackball dont work anymore. My messages and my settings have also been deleted.
This also happens with the JellyNow Rom.
Is this a software or a hardware problem? What do you think?
2) My Titanium Backup doesnt backup any apps but their data, respectively i cant restore the apps themselves but their appdata... Do you know why?
Greetings
Elo
Try flashing a "stable" rom for a few days and see if the problem is still there.

I had similar issue before and when it usually happens within a day after I flashed it or recovered it. I am not very sure if the current ROM (running safe for 2 days now) is really safe from crashing again, but this is what I think happened.
the sd-ext partition at 4GB sometimes cuases issues, especially of somehow everytime I flashed it it reverted back to ext2 back when I was using CWM recovery (maybe cause my backup was made when it was still a ext2 partition). But I have since changed it to 2GB, used 4EXT recovery to convert my sd-ext to ext4, and I updated my ROM... Not sure which one did the trick, but so far it hasn't reset on my.
