Hello and thanks for all help in advance. I've been using my Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 for almost four months now without any problems, but when I woke up this morning, the phone was off, would not turn on, would not charge, would not be recognized by any computer I plugged it into, and it would not boot into recovery mode. My phone would reboot randomly a while back, but that had stopped for a long time. There are not any close Samsung service centers where I live, and so that's a last resort. I tried calling local repair shops, and when I explained the problem to them, they told me that the "CPU was dead", and that "they would need to reprogram it", which would take a week. Is there any truth to this? Any ideas on what I should do?
Your phone probably had a sudden death ( unfortunately this is happening alot ) your mother board is fried and it's not cheap (around 200 $) you should contact Samsung and get a replacement
.. you were on 4.1.1 right?

How the he. ll are they going to reprogram a dead cpu? That makes 0 sense:what: And yes if you were running version 4.1.1 then it's most likely suffered sds.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure now that it's sudden death syndrome. Thanks for the help guys. The guy was probably going to take the phone, order a
replacement motherboard and install it, and charge me extra. I'll contact a service center and order a replacement motherboard.
You can try to use a soft tooth brush to clean the USB port.

Hey there, my sgn2 n7100 had the same problem before, I tried everything, even disassembled the phone apart, but it was still won't turn on or charge, won't be recognized by pc or Mac. One day when I repaired my mom's iPhone 4 touch screen, I found out that the USB port was so dusty. I thought may be it's all because the USB port was dusty then I picked up my sgn2 and used a soft tooth brush with a little pure alcohol to clean every corner of the USB port. Guess what? After 15 minutes I connected my phone with the USB wall charger, my sgn2 just started to charge again. Trust me guys, try to use a soft brush to clean the USB port before you give your phone to the repair store or somewhere else. Good luck!! Hope it helps.
I am reading about N7100 USB ports failing quite a bit. If your phone is charging extremely slowly, or intermittently, I suggest maybe investing $15 for a replacement part ($11 inc. postage) and the tools* to replace it ($4 for a mini slim-jim and screwdriver), if the alternative options are much more expensive.
* If you've already got a little phillips-head screwdriver, you can make a slim-jim / lever tool just by sharpening an old credit card.
My phone is dead and will not charge I dont know whats wrong with it i had it on charge for almost 2 hours and nothing. i tried to turn it on and it came on and the battery said it was charging but it wasnt also when i plug it in the battery will show up on the screen of the dead phone and on the bottom corner it has a Yellow triangle with a ! on it anyone know whats going on or what i can do to fix this please?
maybe you need a new battery, or you can try whith a emergency charger, works for my in my old motorola droid 2
I searched the forums but I didn't found the answer to my problem.
I have a Note 2 (N7100) 16Gb. It was running Omni ROM and was on Devil Kernel. I left my phone in my desk and when I came back it was off. It had 65% of battery left. I tried to turn it back on but it did not worked. I took out the battery and put it back again but it won't turn on. I took out the SIM, SD and battery and tried turning it on connected to the wall power, it also didn't work.
I haven't dropped or smash it against something it just randomly turn off. The phone can't go to recovery or download mode. There is no LED or Galaxy logo when trying to turn it on.
I heard about the SDS, but I thought that was patched already. Also I thought about the battery contacts in the phone, but I think that isn't the problem since even when connected to the wall socket it won't turn on.
The phone is 1 year old and I have not had any problems before.
Is there any solution that I can do or I have to send it to repair. The problem is I live in Ecuador and the prices of repair are very high and is difficult to find a trusted rapid center.
Thanks in advance!
HELLO ALL
Please help me ..i GOT MY NOTE 8 DIED two days ago ,,i was using it normally i left it on the chair and woke up in morning found it such a dead piece of plastic,,,
tried to turn on,,no response,,tried hold power on and volume up
power on and hold all keys,,nothing work at all
it even does not recharge,,and does not connect to PC
i have too much important data as well as i love this device
PLEASE HELp ME URGENTLY
Unplug the battery for a minute. If you can't get to charge after that, get a replacement battery. There was a batch of bad batteries that Samsung had issues with in the Note tablets. At one time they would replace the unit. Though, you would loose your data in the exchange.
thanks for your reply but
the battery is not replaceable in note 8.0

It is, and you can get them online. Many with battery issues have noted to pull the power ... in fact there is a thread all about this that I am surprised you missed.
i went to samsung service center and they told me u need a motherboard,,and am so frustrated
where are XDA DEVELPOERS to help me solve this issue,,,,
any trick i can try to get it back to life ??
PLEASE HELP
all service centers said the same (need a motherboard) but why the note can TOTALLY DIE without any previously notice,???
There is a YouTube video showing how to get to the battery. I did take off the back cover of my note 8 and disconnected my battery for a minute then reconnected it to solve charging and time keeping issues I had with my Note 8.

I need help. USB port in my phone got wet I've connected to charging and in the middle of night phone started to vibrate while showing overheating error.
I've replaced usb board and now I can turn device on but it still does not charge.
I think it is IC on motherboard.
Problem is that I need application data from that phone. I still have about 50% of battery left.
I am willing to buy same phone again and restore it.
how to do this? is odin enough? or should I use TWRM?
