power on and hold all keys,,nothing work at all
it even does not recharge,,and does not connect to PC
i have too much important data as well as i love this device
PLEASE HELp ME URGENTLY
Unplug the battery for a minute. If you can't get to charge after that, get a replacement battery. There was a batch of bad batteries that Samsung had issues with in the Note tablets. At one time they would replace the unit. Though, you would loose your data in the exchange.
thanks for your reply but
the battery is not replaceable in note 8.0

It is, and you can get them online. Many with battery issues have noted to pull the power ... in fact there is a thread all about this that I am surprised you missed.
i went to samsung service center and they told me u need a motherboard,,and am so frustrated
where are XDA DEVELPOERS to help me solve this issue,,,,
any trick i can try to get it back to life ??
PLEASE HELP
all service centers said the same (need a motherboard) but why the note can TOTALLY DIE without any previously notice,???
There is a YouTube video showing how to get to the battery. I did take off the back cover of my note 8 and disconnected my battery for a minute then reconnected it to solve charging and time keeping issues I had with my Note 8.

Hello and thanks for all help in advance. I've been using my Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 for almost four months now without any problems, but when I woke up this morning, the phone was off, would not turn on, would not charge, would not be recognized by any computer I plugged it into, and it would not boot into recovery mode. My phone would reboot randomly a while back, but that had stopped for a long time. There are not any close Samsung service centers where I live, and so that's a last resort. I tried calling local repair shops, and when I explained the problem to them, they told me that the "CPU was dead", and that "they would need to reprogram it", which would take a week. Is there any truth to this? Any ideas on what I should do?
Your phone probably had a sudden death ( unfortunately this is happening alot ) your mother board is fried and it's not cheap (around 200 $) you should contact Samsung and get a replacement
.. you were on 4.1.1 right?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
How the he. ll are they going to reprogram a dead cpu? That makes 0 sense:what: And yes if you were running version 4.1.1 then it's most likely suffered sds.

Guys I have a big problem..
My cellphone gt 7100 note 2 is not giving battery backup and also not charging even..
I put my phone for charge while its switched on it takes 10 hours to be in 30 % charged.. and while its switched off it charges 60 % only.. what to do pls tell me.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure now that it's sudden death syndrome. Thanks for the help guys. The guy was probably going to take the phone, order a
replacement motherboard and install it, and charge me extra. I'll contact a service center and order a replacement motherboard.
You can try to use a soft tooth brush to clean the USB port.

Hey there, my sgn2 n7100 had the same problem before, I tried everything, even disassembled the phone apart, but it was still won't turn on or charge, won't be recognized by pc or Mac. One day when I repaired my mom's iPhone 4 touch screen, I found out that the USB port was so dusty. I thought may be it's all because the USB port was dusty then I picked up my sgn2 and used a soft tooth brush with a little pure alcohol to clean every corner of the USB port. Guess what? After 15 minutes I connected my phone with the USB wall charger, my sgn2 just started to charge again. Trust me guys, try to use a soft brush to clean the USB port before you give your phone to the repair store or somewhere else. Good luck!! Hope it helps.
I am reading about N7100 USB ports failing quite a bit. If your phone is charging extremely slowly, or intermittently, I suggest maybe investing $15 for a replacement part ($11 inc. postage) and the tools* to replace it ($4 for a mini slim-jim and screwdriver), if the alternative options are much more expensive.
* If you've already got a little phillips-head screwdriver, you can make a slim-jim / lever tool just by sharpening an old credit card.
Greetings,
The other day woke up to my Tab 3 10.1 absolutely dead. I tried plugging it into the charger, but nothing happened. After hours of research I decided I would tape something to the power button for 24 hours to try and deplete the battery all the way. I then let it sit on the charger for about 2 hours and there was still no response from the tablet.
Device Info
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5210
Recovery: CWM 6.0.2.8
Rom: Grievous 3 [01/17/2014]
Can someone please provide some insight on the issue?
EDIT:
I tried absolutely EVERYTHING mentioned for SOD issues with no luck. I filed an RMA with Samsung, but my Tab is rooted and figured they would demand a couple hundred $$ more to fix it. Well I just got done taking out the battery and guess what? IT LIVES!!! The battery is back in it now and am working on moving over to another rom...
Edit: Solved
I work for samsung tech support, and these tab 3 7's have been dropping like flies. When they get to the service center, they do exactly what you did- pull the battery and reconnect, then they box it up and send it back.
You know, the guy I was speaking to to get my RMA had said something similar. That they were getting a lot of the 7" with a SOD issue, but not as common on the 10.1. I just couldn't bring myself to send in my rooted tab so that's when I decided I would try pulling the battery out to kill all power. I wish he would have been allowed to tell me that techs just take out the battery, would have saved me the anxiety of not really knowing if it would work.

Can you do a DIY on 'HOW TO' remove and replace the battery for other users with the same problem?

Great! Thank you
Apparently if you hold pwr+volDOWN for 30 seconds EXACTLY, it simulates a battery pull. Let me know if this works for you please. ~Fake

I tried that.... my Tab was locked up bad...
Worked for me
Just adding my experience with what I thought was SOD.
My T210 was on it's charger overnight and this morning was non-responsive.
After trying every button combination without success I put it back on the charger. Still no indication of life. No battery image, nothing.
So after finding this thread and the video link, I popped the tablet apart and disconnected then reconnected the battery, and reassembled.
STILL nothing! I then thought it may be fully discharged so I put it back on the charger. Nothing again!
I then took the charger and tablet back to my desk and found the charger-to-cable connection wasn't pushed in completely. After fixing and reconnecting the tablet it is now charging and showing the normal battery icon on the display. After a few minutes charging it turned on with no problems.
The battery was fully discharged. I think the battery fully discharged overnight while on the half-connected charger.
So it may have been SOD or it may have been a badly connected charger problem. My advice is to check everything (especially basic stuff) twice.
The problem - At first it began with battery sudden drops. From 80% it drops to 20 and after restart it was again 80%. After that I bring it to the place where I bought it and after a week they tell me it's battery problem and the battery has 6 months warranty and it's expired. I read the forum and decided I will root it (I read in some topic that may help). I root it and at first I thought it fixed it, but I was wrong. It started doing it again after a day. I started using the tablet only on charger. But after a month of use mostly on charger the tablet started to flashes ( don't know if that's the right word: the screen started turning of and on really fast like there is not enough power to stay on) and after that the tablet turns off. At that state I was thinking the battery is absolutely dead and I bought one from e-bay. After changing it there was no change. After that I take the tablet and bring it to different store to check what is it wrong with him. They tell me the second battery is broken and cannot be charged or something. I bought 3th battery this time not from e-bay but from official Samsung store(the same store that tells me the problem is from the battery). And everything is the same with all the 3 batteries.
Now the tablet won't stay on more then 1 minute no matter which battery is using. With more luck it shows the homepage and after 10-20 sec restarts again. In bad days it won't even start.
Now I think it's not from the battery and the people in the stores were incompetent and didn't check correct. I am with this on the tablet.
What should I do now? Should I sold my tablet for parts and battery or is there a way to fix it by myself? Is there a way to make it work only on charger again or something? I don't know if the people from the store will want to check it again when it's rooted. Please help I am desperate.
Sorry for the bad english.

I dont know what the problem is but what i would do is at least flash it back to stock or maybe a factory reset and see if the problem still is there. If the problem is still there after trying those 2 things then i would say it is a hardware issue. Im just saying what i would try first before trying to sell for parts.
Hi bought this samsung note 8 when it came first in the market, my note 8 still intact with original transparent cover front and back and hardly used. All a sudden it stopped working as battery was dying due the old ageing. i removed the battery and trying to connect directly to power but it doesnt turn on. does it need battery to turn on? i noticed some devices can be used if you connect them directly to power source. Why is it not getting on? never drop, never spill water, always packed in box.
You need a good battery installed for it to power on.

Maybe you found a solution but I'm just wondering if you tried pressing and holding the power button before you took the battery out? My Note 8.0 has started to have what sounds like the same problem although maybe your Note 8 is further along in the problem than mine is. I'll pick the device up and the screen won't turn on. Plugging it in makes no difference. The first time it happened I started freaking out because I don't have the money to replace my tablet and I use it a lot. I'm so glad I thought to press and hold the power button.
Honestly I just pressed it until the device turned on. I've had to do that a couple of times since. It sounds like your Note 8's battery hardly got used and these batteries don't do well when they just sit, from what I've read. They should be charged and depleted once a month or something like that. I can't remember where I read that but I think it was in more than one place and one of them may have been something written by ZeroLemon.
I hope this is helpful if you haven't already thrown the device away or solved the problem.

You're the second person to try that this year! Don't do It, the device needs a good battery. I got a few new Samsung batteries last year and for $15.00 shipped was a great deal.
Hi guys. I have a peculiar issue on my hand with my one month used Note 8 pro. One night I was a little lazy to put my phone on a charger and it turned off due to completely drained battery. I connected it to the charger and waited for 5 minutes then turned it on. However it did not turn on. Only the LED was glowing. I left it charging overnight but it still didn't turn on the next morning. If I remove the charger and try to turn it on, the back light is on and it vibrates, shows battery empty icon and goes off again. While charging, it shows nothing. Here are the things I have tried so far:
1. Keeping the phone charging overnight on original/different 2A/1A chargers and on laptop.
2. Pressing all combinations of the three buttons and keeping them pressed upto one minute.
3. Removing the battery and trying to resurrect it by a device supplying 12 volts directly to the battery (warranty is definitely void now).
4. Trying all of the above after a couple of weeks.
What's weird is that it tries to turn on and shows battery empty icon which means the battery isn't completely defective and it could be a software problem? Anything I can do other than replacing the battery? (I couldn't find a battery replacement from my country and ordered it from China. It's been in transit for more than a month)
Any help is highly appreciated.
Also the computer dings when I connect/disconnect the phone. Someone please help.
plug in originial charger and cable and leave it for at least 2 hours. come back and it should be back on otherwise its an hardware issue. Also remove sd card if have incerted any.

I did all that but it didn't work. I'll probably never buy a Redmi device again. If it were a more known brand I could find its battery on every corner shop.

First of all you should not have voided the warranty of a device still in warranty and secondly, you can always claim warranty, oh wait you voided it already. Now you don't like redmi phones, very interesting argument. I am not here to indulge in your arguments I had an idea it didn't work you are on your own.

If you can't be helpful, please stay away. No one is forcing you to reply or get into an argument with me. I understood the consequences when I voided the warranty and willing to pay for the fix, but the parts aren't available. I didn't know a simple rant about a corporate will offend you so much. And if you could read, you would have seen that I tried your bright idea already.
Since you no longer have warranty, open the phone, remove the battery and shortcut it, just use a wire and force a contact between +/-.
Then try to charge it again for a couple of hours, if that doesn't work, use any 5V led light or something and connect it to the battery until it drains completely, and then charge the device again.
The purpose of both of this tricks is to reset the memory of the battery. Good luck. And please in future cases don't feed a phone battery with 12v, if the battery wasn't dead, then you surely killed it with that, also it's for safety, leave any voltage above 3.7 to the charger and the phone to handle it.
Please stay cool guys before it's too late, we wouldn't want this thread to derail.
Thanks
