I've been running this for a few hours now. Very smooth. I'm coming from a fairly old build... the last stable before Nyania, so I appreciate the built in Gummy Themes if they weren't there before.
I had a System UI crash that corrected itself within a few seconds.
Edit: Auto-brightness seems brighter than before. Too bright for me to use comfortably.
For me its been running great. On the 6/25 nightly (also 1.3) I had issues with the picture going all gray when opened. No issue yet on this Gummy 1.3. Feels real snappy and smooth. No reboots either, although I never had any on 1.2 either.
Happy with everything so far.

The auto brightness isn't something the ROM messes with. As far as I am aware it is the same as the stock settings. If you came from an older build it would be the Kernel change. The Kernel may have been adjusted to whiten the whites. However if you want I can give you a link to page for auto brightness settings.
I was getting constant reeboots on this rom. I added the franco kernal and its sweet now.

Did you wipe data, cache and dalvik? I have not had a single reboot in 4 days since 1.3 first appeared on the nightly.

Thanks, I would appreciate it. I was using Franco m4 Kernel before flashing this ROM today, and the difference is quite noticeable on my eyes.
can you guys make a non-linaro build of 1.3? Linaro gives me horrible battery life. (Linaro 1.2.11 gave me bad battery life)
with in the first couple of hourse i counted 4 reboots, i have never had reboots till going to 1.3, it was also rebooting when people would try to call me. Went back to 1.2.2 and yes i did wipe everything.

Just got my Nexus (GSM) and there are so many ROMS to choose from!! Anyone have any favorites that I can try? I came from HTC Desire using Richard Trip's Villain ROM.
AOKP is the one with most tweaks, tho many say its kinda laggy, im using it and no lag for me
I've tried them all so far and my 2 favorite are ARHD and AOKP.
Try with these 2 first, aokp for 4.0.3 and arhd for 4.0.2.

It says nightly, but he releases new builds every week or more, but no need to always upgrade, I just flashed the March 16th build and I don't see any reason to upgrade unless he adds some crazy new features, because it's really great right now.
All roms are updated nearly every week or 2, you don't have to upgrade though, if you want a ROM that has no development then go with one of those roms that hasn't been updated for a month or 2.
GSM AOSP 4.0.4 has been compiled by Birdman on Rootzwiki.
I just installed it and everything seems to work fine. Blazing fast animations.
For those of us who are rooted and have Clockworkmod. Worked without wipe; it is however recommended as usual.
Be sure to pick up his dictionary fix file. Also working fine with Lean Kernel installed.
Have a look over here for the download!
Did you have to flash the superuser fix also? I assume this kills root.

No way dude, you don't notice it? Animations are definitely smoother. Will see battery life tomorrow, but it's smoother at least to me. Was on Bugless Beast. Also I flashed Faux Kernel with it for 4.0.3 and I realized it got less smooth, I think there are some good improvements to the 4.0.4 kernel.
How long should a first boot take? mine seems to be still booting after about 2-3 minutes.

I came from AOKP and can definitely see a difference in the animation speeds and a general smoothness that wasn't there before. One of the most noticeable changes is how quickly folders on the home screen open.

I just flashed the latest Milestone nightly kernel because I forgot to after flashing the 4.0.4 update. After that and rebooting, it's definitely smoother. I change my earlier answer, lol.
That's odd. I found the 4.0.4 kernel that came with it seemed slower than Milestone nightly.

I believe the updated kernels are not yet available thus your perceived sluggish performance. According to Birdman the 4.0.4 kernel source isn't available until later this week.

Hi all I'm still very new to this whole rooting stuff.
I'm using aokp build 38 this is the 1st Rom I've used
And lately I'm having a much better battery life than stock. But I just want to ask if there's a much better Rom out there that has great performance and battery.
Also could you name the Roms and what are so good about them?
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Everyone has a different opinion on this. There is no one rom that gives each phone good battery. Your best bet is to just try them out yourself.
Oh okay. Thanks what would you recommend?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I personally like liquid smooth ROM and Airkernel
I'd recommend the redemption Rom.
The Dev claims that he is only fixing errors created by Google.
Ans he's right. 2 hours screen time v 4 hours is the way to go.
It's also notably faster and doesn't randomly reboot to often.
He does a video changelog for his rom. Which I believe is a characteristic of a dev who is proud of his work.
But whatever you use. Use it for at least a week.
Would be good to also mention what phone model. Gsm,Verizon, sprint.
With these kind of threads, you might as well just ask what everyone's favorite ROM is or what ROM they're currently using. You'll only rarely get a different answer, and there are already threads for all three subjects to begin with.
Guy above me has a point.
But, AOKP B39 and Franco M4 works wonders for me.

Issues shouldn't arise until 1836MHz, based on how the TMO turn out is.
going to up another one while i wait for VZW users to confirm the defconfig build is a go.
changes on next build is partial config optimization, basedon how things between all the sgs3 seem to work, it should work, but i'll piece it out anyway, just to play it save.

That's what I'm running ALPHA 4 with, no problems so far.
So with the alpha 2, I lost about 400 on quadrants, and with alpha 4, I lost about 700, but my 2D and 3D scores doubled from what they were on the stock kernel, so I'm happy.

JB as in jelly bomb of course.
Anyway.....I finally got alpha 4 to boot on "Jelly Bomb Domination 5.0 " I had to use a kernel cleaning script to fully wipe the old kernel out before installing. Figured this out after exactly10 attempts.

Blue Tooth
GPS locks quick
Is there anything else besides performance/battery you'd want us to report?

Hello all,
This is a straight up compile of Cyanogemod's source. Nothing more, nothing less. I have been contemplating whether or not to start this thread simply because I really don't have time to maintain a thread with work, school, and family but since I have not seen a working build posted yet so I decided to give mine. From what I have seen (my wife has been using as daily driver) CM 10.2 is pretty stable for d2 devices already. Battery was an issue but that seems to have cleared.
I compile at least once a day, and usually twice so these builds will be my latest. If there are no significant changes upstream, I will not post a new build. I am really not a coder, although I have a little experience, so please don't ask me to fix things because I most likely won't know how to. Like I said, I am compiling directly from source.
My build names are time stamped as to when they were compiled, right down to the minute (PDT). The Gapps I post are the ones I used. I am not sure which thread I acquired them from, so I am truly sorry to the original poster. I tried many and most were bloated with unneeded apps so I chose this one. If they are yours, please let me know so I can give credit.
This thread will pretty much become obsolete once nightlies for 10.2 are available.
ROM is hosted on Google drive. Any mirrors are welcome.
Full wipe is needed if coming from any other non CM 10.2 ROM. If root is needed, go to Settings-->About Phone-->Tap Build Number seven times. Developer options are now available in settings. Under Developer Options-->Root Access select Apps and ADB.
Mostly everything works. It is very stable and battery on par with 10.1.
As far as a changelog, I don't really have one because it is just changes merged straight from CM. You can look at github here or gerrit here and get a general idea. Anything merged before my build time (in the name of build) will be in the ROM.

Yeah, I have been running on my GS4 for a week. My wife got jealous so as soon as I could compile and was stable, I added d2tmo to my build script for her. I figured why not post it.

Lol, new build up.
It is based strait off CM source. No changes to the code.

Haven't seen any 4.3 kernels for the Tmo GS3 yet. Hopefully KT will come out with one.
What are the big differences between 10.1 and 10.2...?

Well sorry for your hardwork but its the same as assir build, camera non fonctionnal at all and battery drain like crazy.
Should wait for CM official they should fix the camera and make it stable like 4.2.2.

ayysir's build is base off of PA. Battery is not draining like crazy at all. A few days ago, like the 3rd or earlier, did have bad battery drain on all d2 builds. Those have been worked out since then.
Have you even flashed this yet?

10.2 is based off of AOSP 4.3 so it has BT LE and AVRCP 1.3, dialpad auto complete, ability to select what apps can and cannot access, and some under the hood stuff that is supposed to make it smoother.
