Hello all,
This is a straight up compile of Cyanogemod's source. Nothing more, nothing less. I have been contemplating whether or not to start this thread simply because I really don't have time to maintain a thread with work, school, and family but since I have not seen a working build posted yet so I decided to give mine. From what I have seen (my wife has been using as daily driver) CM 10.2 is pretty stable for d2 devices already. Battery was an issue but that seems to have cleared.
I compile at least once a day, and usually twice so these builds will be my latest. If there are no significant changes upstream, I will not post a new build. I am really not a coder, although I have a little experience, so please don't ask me to fix things because I most likely won't know how to. Like I said, I am compiling directly from source.
My build names are time stamped as to when they were compiled, right down to the minute (PDT). The Gapps I post are the ones I used. I am not sure which thread I acquired them from, so I am truly sorry to the original poster. I tried many and most were bloated with unneeded apps so I chose this one. If they are yours, please let me know so I can give credit.
This thread will pretty much become obsolete once nightlies for 10.2 are available.
ROM is hosted on Google drive. Any mirrors are welcome.
Full wipe is needed if coming from any other non CM 10.2 ROM. If root is needed, go to Settings-->About Phone-->Tap Build Number seven times. Developer options are now available in settings. Under Developer Options-->Root Access select Apps and ADB.
Mostly everything works. It is very stable and battery on par with 10.1.
As far as a changelog, I don't really have one because it is just changes merged straight from CM. You can look at github here or gerrit here and get a general idea. Anything merged before my build time (in the name of build) will be in the ROM.

Yeah, I have been running on my GS4 for a week. My wife got jealous so as soon as I could compile and was stable, I added d2tmo to my build script for her. I figured why not post it.
Looks like there was a commit within the hour to fix something with bluetooth. Compiling now and will post in a bit. Sorry for such a quick update. After this I will post about every 12 hrs unless there really isn't anything different to post.
New build up.
Had some issues with super user. Wasn't letting me gain root access to apps. If anyone else has this issue flash this su update for fix.

ayysir's build is base off of PA. Battery is not draining like crazy at all. A few days ago, like the 3rd or earlier, did have bad battery drain on all d2 builds. Those have been worked out since then.
Have you even flashed this yet?

10.2 is based off of AOSP 4.3 so it has BT LE and AVRCP 1.3, dialpad auto complete, ability to select what apps can and cannot access, and some under the hood stuff that is supposed to make it smoother.

Perfect Android is a redistribution of the Android Open Source Project and Google software code that I have lightly modified to make as a daily driver for me and those people who are like myself and want a "clean", "pure google android experience". This project doesn't have and won't focus on adding a ton of features and mods but instead focus on stability, and reliability so yes basically this is a stock ROM my only efforts will be to make it run better, and be more polished, and complete.

If you have an error or something pops up I ask that before you post about it please make sure that you are running the ROM as provided. I cannot troubleshoot anything that is related to using other kernels, mods, or themes.
This ROM is basically like a stock rom of jelly bean so there is not a need for screen shots ........
Always remember that XDA started out as a great place and will remain a great place as long as we are great to each other anything used in this ROM is available upon request and feel free to use this as a base rom for any other project my ROM is un-branded just give me some mention .......

I had just started using Franco nightly kernel today, and now have flashed the Perfect AOSP. What benefits do you think there are to flashing Franco's kernel, as opposed to using what is default with this ROM? Trying to decide if I should put Franco back on or not.

There's nothing wrong with the ROMs built in kernel, but I prefer all the options in Franco's kernal app. He has made a lot of optimizations. I like to tweak the colors and brightness. Also, Franco has made some improvements to WiFi. There are also options to overclock if you're into that sort of thing, but personally I think everything runs quick and smooth at stock frequencies on this ROM.

Hey guys, an xda n00b here,
I really want CyanogenMod 10 for my Nexus, (not asking for ETA), but I don't have time to keep up with instabilities, etc. Does flashing the nightly every day take time? Or is it really easy?
How is the performance and battery life of CM10 over stock?
Yep, that's basically it.
Thanks in advance
-Sahil
The CM team focuses on stability.
If an average user wants a Rom to flash literally once and never have to flash again...I'd flash CM10.
You'll end up with very very few bugs.
As far as installing, check post 2 of the guide linked in my sig if this process is new to you.
And updating nightlies doesn't take much time, no.
The general custom if you're already on a CM nightly would be to download/flash/wipe cache. Users generally don't wipe data often with the CM nightlies...but it's a good idea to do it occasionally, at least.
CM 10 is not stable yet. If I were you I would stick with stock rom until CM10 gets stable version or at least RC version.
Personally, I'm using AOKP JB Build 1 and franco.Kernel Milestone 5. It's stable, fast, great battery life and it's my daily driver now.

So even if its not stable yet, you think I should flash it?
As of 24-8 its stable, don't know what issues that guy having but I'm using it and it works just fine. Just remember to clean wipe the first time you flash cm10.
Also don't have to flash daily, I do it weekly or when major update is done. I check change log to see what has been updated weekly.

Nightly builds are daily compiled builds from source. This version therefore has the latest bleeding edge features & tweaks, but it is also the mostly likely to have bugs and issues. This version is not for general use.

Hi there.
Just to let you know that I went from the Foxhound ROM over to CM10 (build from the 24th) and I tell you how good this ROM is.. no stability issues so far.
3g, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc all seems to be working well.
Just testing the battery life at the moment and switch the performance to On Demand (preference). Also not laggy like the previous ROM with scrolling, unlock and typing. Screen transitions seems quick.. All that with the CPU running at stock 1.2ghz (old ROM = 1.35).
Cheers.

CM 10 is the best that happened to my nexus
Question for everyone: Where can I find the changelog of CM10 for Galaxy Nexus Nightlies?
Just last week I installed the CM 10 nightlies on my GSM nexus and to my surprise its extremely stable. I haven't seen it crash even once and now I'm hooked on updating it daily (won't recommend to everyone). But the nightlies are very stable, daily updated.
Compared to the stock ROM CM 10 adds so many features that I wanted. Things like having Reboot, Screenshot in the power options. Having power buttons in the drop down menu (WiFi, GPS, syncing etc. instead of only on the home screen), adding app shortcuts to screen lock etc.
Overall its way better than the stock rom but doesn't make you go away from what you're used to. Jelly Bean is fast and awesome.
Good luck,
Nitin

I am also keeping my eye on this one. It is updated almost every other day. I am presently running Darkside Evolution and it is so stable and the battery life is great. I had and HD2 that ran Cyanogen Mod and there was always little hiccups and work arounds. I know it was different hardware but I am just not ready to make that commitment. I am VERY excited to see how "Project Butter" works. I am sure in the coming weeks and months we will see these builds improve by leaps and bounds. I am gonna hold out untill I see a " What doesn't work " heading that has a few minor things in it.
* UPDATE * Wow this was just updated a little bit ago. This Developer is really working and putting time into making this ROM work and work smoothly.

Just did a little research on this one, I'm gonna go give it a shot!
Thanks for the recommendation.
I finally had enough of the stock rom and would like to try a custom rom. CM9 or CM10 based. However, looks like MURI has this video playing bug and the other one has the wifi issue.
For me, most important things are :
1, wifi,
2, camera/camcorder
3, battery
4, video
so, any recommendation? what is the most stable, bug-free rom?
Thanks,
Well first off this should be in Q&A....
Dkstunnas cm9 has it all
Sent from my answering machine
I just got out of dk's cm9 because the camera works sometimes and doesent some other times so i went back to ViperInc even though it has a strange performance issue and now overclocking
Evervolv is as smooth as it gets but its a work in progress, the camera doesn't work at all yet and bluetooth is also not working. You have to add the ssid manually in order to use wifi but it's smooth as butter.
Wow, now not only has the Q&A section merged with the general section, it has merged with the Dev section as well. Pretty soon, the incredible 2 forums will be nothing but a mosh pit of questions.
Results vary. Try and see.

To the OP. Just go for ViperINC 1.2.0 or better.
Make sure you wipe about 5 times and remove all traces of any previous ROMs (including hidden folders on your SDcard.
Camera issues = ZERO once you open the camera and uncheck "Face Detection" under camera settings.
Beef it up a bit with V6 SuperCharger
VERY zippy ROM with no lag now.
Your mileage may vary, but for me.... it is the BEST Rom for the Dinc2 period.
I'm gonna recommend miui. It has fixed video playing bug. So zero bugs I think. Amazing camera.

same question
running the last aeorvan cm10 version, very solid, but still some issues and wondering if there are any more up to date / more stable roms?
Stability is my main thing.
Has anyone switched from aerovan to the paranoid chillybean rom, thoughts?
Thanks and happy new year!

I ran CM10 for a long time. I think Pacman rom is at least as stable as CM10, and I don't get the multi-boot problem I always had on CM10. I love having the AOKP tweaks and the CM10 power widgets. It's worth a flash.

I have been running PAC for a while now. Few hiccups here and there but it runs smooth most of the time. But experiences vary. Back up what you have now if you like it. Then try it and see.

I don't really use bluetooth much so I can't say. But read the thread. I believe Rushead has commented on it.

CM10 runs greatfor me after installing an updated kernel ,the kernel file is named" aeroevan_ICSv14RC2-bfs.zip". hope thats helpfull
For almost two months now I've been running my S3 on a CM nightly + leanKernel stable with great results!
I leave the clock speeds at default, and with Trickster MOD in Governor control i adjust InteractiveX screen_off_maxfreq to 594,000 and Multicore Power Saving to 1. I usually always flash different setups for different phones.. I go through about 5-8 androids a year, however ive kept this S3 longer than I usually keep phones and this setup has been DELIGHTFUL to me!
Just though I'd share this.

You should give Quantum a shot instead of the CM nightly

Yes it's in the regular development section, not original. Try the 1.9 ROM and latest kernel its far superior to the nightlies on my experience.

Absolutely try out Quantum, its like CM 10.2 on steroids and it gets updated every 2-3 days and gets much better battery life than the official CM nightlies. Quantum's only for d2att, so the developer has really awesome support and puts a lot of hard work into the rom.

I'm actually really loving my new setup.. Similar to my original post except I'm running the latest AOKP by task650.. Works so nicely with leankernel!
No stock for me...
I really wasn't feeling the stock ROM so I came to xda and found that CM, Slimbean and Task650 have been saviors.
Been jumping back and forth for a few years.....different devices but mainly my S3.
Love this place.

I've been running hyperdrive with faux's stock kernel for a while... Flawless performance and battery life for me
Quantum by far for performance, stability and battery life and he updates the roms and kernels daily!

If OP does flash Quantum, the newer kernels are a must have unless you run into stability issues. (Kind of rare, but still plausible.)
Quantum is a great ROM, and has a super kernel!
Just make sure that if you flash it, disable MP-Decision using an app like Trickster MOD... you need to read through some pages I believe to figure out that you actually have to - so just so you know
New quantum 4.4 is just as smooth even in beta form

Yeah Quantum is great. Been follwing Pwncakes since his first 4.3 release in early August. And 4.4 is solid as a rock! :good:

I think it's a great ROM however after flashing it I get reboots at least every 10 minutes and I'm not sure what's the cause of the instability because I updated the firmware to I747UCUEMJ2 and I also updated to the newest version of CWM...
