[Q] Rom with great battery - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi all I'm still very new to this whole rooting stuff.
I'm using aokp build 38 this is the 1st Rom I've used
And lately I'm having a much better battery life than stock. But I just want to ask if there's a much better Rom out there that has great performance and battery.
Also could you name the Roms and what are so good about them?
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Everyone has a different opinion on this. There is no one rom that gives each phone good battery. Your best bet is to just try them out yourself.

Oh okay. Thanks what would you recommend?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

I personally like liquid smooth ROM and Airkernel

I'd recommend the redemption Rom.
The Dev claims that he is only fixing errors created by Google.
Ans he's right. 2 hours screen time v 4 hours is the way to go.
It's also notably faster and doesn't randomly reboot to often.
He does a video changelog for his rom. Which I believe is a characteristic of a dev who is proud of his work.
But whatever you use. Use it for at least a week.

Would be good to also mention what phone model. Gsm,Verizon, sprint.

With these kind of threads, you might as well just ask what everyone's favorite ROM is or what ROM they're currently using. You'll only rarely get a different answer, and there are already threads for all three subjects to begin with.

Guy above me has a point.
But, AOKP B39 and Franco M4 works wonders for me.

Other than possibly in benchmarks, where's the performance difference between AOKP and CM9? I've tried both and currently run AOKP and I didn't notice any difference it performance between the two.

MCR from Paul Obrien over at Modaco. Together with the Franco kernel. Great performance and battery-life

I'm using black ice. I like the black theme

I know, I know there is probably a thread out there already.

Just traded my razr maxx for a cdma nexus. Obviously I know I'm going to notice a huge difference in battery life. So my question is what rom/kernel combos are providing the best results in battery life, speed, and stability. Feel free to bash me, but, please leave me your opinion ;-)
If your title states there is already a thread... why are you making another one?

Because I cant find the thread im looking for. Xda search sucks.
i like
aokp comes with faux123. its ****in sweet.
i always go back to imoseyons lean kernel
favorite rom is aokp.
oh check your pms
I'm on Liquid ROM 1.25 it's smooth and lasts whole day for me with about 40% left when I go to bed.
Hope this helps.

Liquid with stock kernel?
Why did you trade your max for a Nexus? I have an offer that's why I'm asking.
Development?

CM9 + GLaDOS 1.28 ... CM9 is super stable with lots of features and it has none of the other bloat and bugs found in other roms out there (i've tried them all crack flashing and always come back to CM9) GLaDOS is simply the best kernel out there right now especially with EzeKeel's new Wheatly governor and vibration control ... best performance, batter life and stability ... if you don't know now you know
aokp b31 with franco r121, near 5 hour screen time and got me through full day too, with 14 left.
nothing surpasses franco kernel, and the best rom with most customizations is aokp. if u wanna go lite, try slimics with franco, also beast

AOKP 4.2.2 Milestone build and franco kernel Nightly #378 (Full Version for all features). Then a little tweaking and modding and your phone will be a beast!! Haven't flashed a new rom in almost two months that's how sturdy and bugless this rom is.

I've been running Gummy 1.0.1 for four days now with no issues. My Samsung extended battery seems to be lasting longer with the governors that are included with the ROM. I would recommend YouTube to get a feel for the different ROMs available.

I've always used MIUI on my Nexus S. I want to see how it is on the GNex first. ARHD intrigues me because I love the Stock android feel and don't like the launcher overlay some ROMs use.

Post your battery stats and rom/kernel combination

played temple run and browsing.. made few calls as well.. is this good battery life??
That's pretty good.
My normal is AOKP M6 with Jame Bond 3.1.9.9 kernel.
Although I'm thinking I'm sticking to the AOKP JB nightlies now. Just using Jame Bond 3.4 kernel now.

That is actually pretty good. It also seems like you play games and that drains the battery pretty quick, especially since is using the GPU much more than in regular use.
I could have never ever achieve this kind of battery with my HTC Sensation even when running CM9.
Here is mine. Using stock but rooted JB and stock kernel.
Used for browsing a lot, Twitter, Facebook, Texting and YouTube videos.

Hi! I'll be going abroad in a couple of days and while I have tested most JB roms I'm not sure which rom has the best battery life. I'm currently using Rasbeanjelly and Trinity Stable 35 and I only got 3hrs of screen on yesterday (however I did have 3G enabled most of the time). Can anyone please suggest the best ROM for battery life ?

New to SGS2 T989

Hi all
I am new to the SGS2 T989. I am coming from a Nexus S 4G, which I rooted and went with Peter Alfonso's Bugless Beast, running Matr1x kernel.
I am going to be using Straight Talk in Baltimore/DC. What have people's experience been with Straight Talk?
Also, because I was running a Nexus device with a lightly tweaked AOSP ROM, I would like to find something similar for the SGS2 T989. I prefer as close to vanilla as possible, I don't like CM or AOKP (why the cheesy unicorn?), because they are just too buggy imo. I've tried them all and kept going back to Bugless Beast. So, I'd like to find a ROM that is the equivalent of Bugless Beast if possible. I hope it is out there!!
Looking forward to getting to know you all on this forum!
Cheers

If you dont want cm9/10 or aokp then you'd have to take a current rom and install a different launcher. It wont be exactly the same but theres no alternative right now.
I would recommend you give AOKP a try. You can always customize it to not even notice the Little Unicorn!!
Use Jedi Rom. The best rom for our phone so far. Zero FC at all. Faster than any other rom

Thanks, I think!!
I actually prefer the look of the T989! Although if it were as thin as the sgs3 that would be awesome.
To me the little odd shaped physical button makes the phone look like a sprinter on steroids. Powerful, in shape, but their knob has shrunk making everything else pointless!!!

Wtf is wrong with stock? I run rooted stock and I'm completely happy with it. What exactly is she using the phone for? If she isn't an enthusiast like most of us, she wouldn't be able to tell the difference. If all she is doing is texting, using social networking, watching videos, and talking, stock is fine. If you're feeling risky, experiment.
She likes the themes and toggles. She's been hooked since cm6

I would guess CM, but I don't know how far along in development CM10 is. I'm sure there is something out there. There are just so many ROMs it isn't even funny.
Personally, if you want stability, I'd rock CM10 or AOKP.
Many of the others are simply mashups if the two; and while that isn't necessarily a bad thing, I put my full trust in Roms who have written the majority of their own code rather than Cherry Picking commits from others.
In the long run, it's her/your choice.
But I've had great success, personally, with AOKP.
That being said, my bread-and-butter may not match yours.
The best bet would be to teach her how to flash Roms herself so she can try each one for a day or so.
Post two of the guide in my sig would be a good place to send her.
She can then get herself up and running; and won't have to continually rely on you.
I've been running AOKP nightly builds and recently their official Build 1 and haven't had any problems even though I've been lazy and dirty flashed the last two updates. +1 to AOKP JB Build 1
How about Eclipse? I've been running that on Jellybean for a long time, totally rock solid.

CM10 and Trinity. Good battery, performance, and everything in between. But try stuff out and see what is stable for you. battery life varies from phone to phone.
